A holiday of mixed fortunes! The good was GOOD, BAD was MOST unfortunate! Beginning with the good, we found the Hotel to be of 4* standard, clean, well maintained and generally pleasant. The pool area was well laid out, the sun beds and shades plentiful and ambience nice. The ‘rules’ were intimidating until you found all guests ignored them! They needed to!! The associated bar was fine, but the manning there frequently amateur. Our room overlooked the car park! NOT what every holiday-maker asks for. On pointing this out, no other room to our booking standard was available BUT on payment of several hundred euros extra, alternative accommodation was possible. Bad start. Being more elderly, we decided not to be forced into any possible move and stayed in CPView. Anyone for a list of Spanish car number plates? We found the included transport to Altea to be a boon! Punctual, pleasant and regular (Sundays excepted) it contrived to ‘save our holiday’) How? Due to the evening meal being so poor, we had to travel into Altea Town for high quality e.m’s. The contrast between the ‘hotel canteen’ (H.C.) and proper restaurants was too big. Staffing at H.C. was by grumpy staff, doubtless due to poor management! Our first encounter was at breakfast when we were ‘ordered’ to vacate a table laid for 4 persons when we were but 2! We were pointed to a vacant seat suitable for our purpose, it was adjacent to the permanently open door to the outside and at that time, windy and COLD. No wonder it was vacant! Drinks were fine and reasonably priced. The entertainment varied, but not to the taste of older guests. There are only so many bingo, diy ‘sing-along’s and quizzes you can stand, less alone enjoy. Would you return? NO! Beautiful as Altea is- IT IS! you DO need to have good food and a pleasant dining experience. Here - sadly, NO.

Lovely hotel would recommend to all. 10minute walk from Altea old town. Lovely building and pool area. It was very quiet when we were there had the pool to ourselves. All facilities clean. Staff friendly and approachable. We had bed and breakfast lovely selection of fruit, pastries, cereal, breads, cold meat, cheese, eggs and bacon. It is down a lane therefore slightly precarious walking back at night. Wouldn’t recommend for a lone female. We booked a twin room and there were balcony doors with a tiny balcony not big enough to able to sit out there. We only booked last minute for a one night stay but that would put me off if we were there longer and that’s the only reason I have marked down to 4/5.

Wir waren aufgrund einer Hochzeit im SH Villa Gadea und genau das ist es, wofür das Hotel sich durchaus eignet. Die Hochzeitslocation mit Blick aufs Meer, daneben das Restaurant L ´Olleta mag für schöne Hochzeitsfotos gut sein, das war es aber auch schon. Für Familienurlaub eignet sich dieses Hotel jedoch keinesfalls. Ein Event jagt das Nächste, ich hab ca. 2 Brautpaare pro Tag gesehen, dementsprechend hoch war der Lärmpegel nachts und tagsüber wurde ausgiebig und lautstark an der Pool Bar gefeiert. Das Hotel müsste sich entscheiden, ob es Event Location oder Urlaubsdestination sein möchte!! Wir fühlten uns mit unseren beiden Kindern (16 Monate und 5 Jahre) total fehl am Platz. Mehrmals nachts mussten wir die Rezeption kontaktieren, aufgrund unmöglicher und unglaublicher Lärmbelästigung. Bspw war u.a. wieder einmal Live Musik vor unserem Balkon auf der Hotelterrasse (warum bekommen wir mit Kleinkindern so ein Zimmer gestellt??) bis nach Mitternacht. Als ich an der Rezeption anrief und sagte, um Mitternacht müsste jetzt aber gut sein, meinte der Rezeptionist nur, eine halbe Stunde noch. So ging es fast jede Nacht... Das Essen war von morgens bis abends eine Zumutung. Das Frühstücksbuffet sah wunderbar aus, auch das Abendbuffet, aber die Speisen waren größtenteils ungenießbar. Nicht einmal das Rührei und die Tortilla konnte man essen. Der Hotelbau erinnert an die typischen 5* Paläste aus den 80-90er Jahren. Die Poolanlage hätte durchaus potenzial, ist aber einfach nur eine Party Hochburg. Lediglich unser Zimmer, eine Junior Suite, war von Aufteilung, Größe und Sauberkeit absolut in Ordnung, sonst wäre das Hotel total durchgefallen. Der Service durchwegs sehr unfreundlich, genervt und überfordert, .. Ein paar freundliche Mitarbeiter haben wir angetroffen, die waren jedoch leider die Ausnahme. Das Hotel liegt ca. 10 Min. mit dem Auto entfernt von Altea und ist daher weit vom Schuss. Geschäfte, Lokale, etc. in der Nähe Fehlanzeige. Der Strand mit groben Steinen, war wenig einladend. Wir kommen auf keinen Fall wieder und können dieses Hotel auch nicht weiterempfehlen!

Wow what a stunning place. From the minute you walk in you know its special. Our room was fabulous. Views of the Church, spotlessly clean, lovely little extras. The breakfast was so good and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Would not hesitate to go back. Fantastic
