Providencia Apartments

The warmest of welcome from a great team at Ugo Hotel. The hotel is well placed in a nice area. It was modern, very light, airy and clean. Our room (334) was on the third floor facing towards what looked like residential apartments. Our only wish was that our view hadn’t been slightly obscured by a wall to another part of the hotel. The reception / lobby / bar was a good place to sit. The main light hanging above made a statement. The room itself whilst not the biggest had everything we needed for a comfortable stay (3 night) during our tour. There were two big, very comfortable beds. This combined with the pillows supplied led to 3 good nights sleep. The second bed was great for laying clothes out and packing ‘ unpacking. The WC / Shower were in the ensuite with the washbasin just outside in an area divided from the bed space by a divider and hanging space. The shower was very good although some might find the floor slippy. There wasn’t a plug in the sink (by design). This was the moment we remembered the travel plug had been left at home. This was an inconvenience when shaving and meant that more water was used than might have been had there been one. We pointed this out as a water saving idea at reception who welcomed the positive feedback. There was good air-conditioning but like most you need to leave one of the key cards in if you want it to continue working when you go out. That said from an energy saving point of view it didn’t take long to cool the room down once we returned. We did turn the AC down at night as like most installations the noise can be a bit of a pain when trying to sleep. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and a nice looking bar with a fantastic team. Not everyone spoke English but we didn’t speak any Spanish but we got by just fine. We had some great Chilean wine and loved the Pisco Sour. Thanks to Laos Silizar for giving me his recipe. There is an enclosed garden area at the back close to the bar with a variety of seating among greenery and to one end a pool. The lifts were quick and we never had to wait more than a few seconds for one. There were two ice cream shops within seconds of the main entrance and a number of nice restaurants. The tallest building in Latin America Sky Costanera was only about a 10 minute walk away. By virtue of its height it has the highest viewing platform in Santiago, from where the 360 degree panoramic view from the 61st and 62nd floors including The Andes is exceptional. Beneath this is a very big shopping centre containing many restaurants of all sorts. We went our for a walk each evening in the direction of the adjoining residential. There were some nice apartment blocks / homes. The area was well lit and felt safe. To summarise we enjoyed staying at Ugo Hotel very much. All of the staff were fantastic. I was excited about staying in this new and modern hotel during my trip to Chile this month. I was ready to overlook the location- being far from the historic sites. The fact that the hotel is attached to a nice modern mall with a grocery store made it very appealing. However, the positive sides stop here, and I must mention that one of the doors, leading to the hotel from the mall wouldn't open- my card was working but the door was stuck. So, I had to go back 5 floors of escalators, exit the mall and walk into the hotel's street entrance- all this carrying a heavy bag with my purchases. The biggest shortcoming for this hotel is the Front Desk and the hotel’s concept that all guest’s calls have to go through the desk. And although the nice employees who work there try very hard, the desk is severely understaffed. I waited for a long time to check- in as there was only one person on duty. Someone else finally came to check me in. They say that the first impressions are very important and in this case they set the tone for my stay. Problems with logging into the internet( the employee who checked me in forgot to add me to the system) and the room TV that I had to solve right after I got into my room; even had go to the Front desk for because no-one picked up the phone. And all that after traveling for 24 hours and being very tired from my journey. This morning I again tried to get in touch with the Front desk for another issue, but again no one picked up the phone. I know that if I go to the desk I will have to wait for a very long time to be served only to be told that I need to wait in my room. Because of the many unlicensed taxis in Santiago, the hotel's staff told me at check-in that all trips should be arranged through- yes, you got it, through the Front desk! And what they do it reserve a vehicle and driver with a private company the hotel works with, for 4 times the price of a regular taxi. I used taxis a few times after that (the vehicles with the yellow roof), and didn't have any problems. So, it's the hotel that overcharges its guests with claims that all taxis in town are a scam. And yes, there is no direct phone for the housekeeping department, or for the restaurant, all calls should go through the Front desk, so expect that your call may not be answered on the first, or second try. The breakfast, although seemed plentiful and nice, is of a very low quality. The eggs were semi- raw, the quiche- a few days old. And so were all the pastries. The fruit consisted of a few chunks of what seemed like an old watermelon, wrapped in a small bowl. And at the end of each meal I was given a bill check to sign, even though breakfast was included in my room rate. What this meant was to urge the guests to give tip to the restaurant staff. My plans were to return for a few more days after I travel around Chile, but I cancelled my reservation and booked a different hotel. On the plus side, my room was large, the A/C worked well, beautiful

Wir haben 2 Nächte nach einer Kreuzfahrt dort übernachtet. Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits und man sollte schon gut zu Fuß sein, wenn man in die Stadt kommen möchte. Andererseits ist die Lage gerade in den momentanen unsicheren Zeiten wiederum optimal. Recht zentral aber doch weit genug weg und schneller Anbindung an die großen Strassen Richtung Flughafen. ;-) Das Hotel selbst ist sehr groß und unser Zimmer in der 3. Etage (359) relativ klein. Da wir gerade von einer 5 wöchigen Kreuzfahrt kamen hatten wir schon etwas Probleme die Koffer zu öffnen. Etwas unprofessionell fand ich, dass bei Ankunft die Badutensilien nicht vollständig waren. Shampoo und Bodylotion war vorhanden aber Seife und Duschzeug fehlte. Am darauf folgenden Tag war dann das Toilettenpapier nicht aufgefüllt und erst nach 3x nachfragen an der Rezeption kam noch welches. Wir haben 2 x in der Lobby gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden. Preise sind schon hoch aber für ein 5 Sterne Hotel angemessen. Frühstück draussen am Pool war etwas kühl aber das Ambiente schön. Hier sollte man ein stärkeres Auge auf das Buffet haben. Heruntergefallene Löffel (im Honig) oder sonstige ”Unfälle” werden kaum bemerkt. Ansonsten ist das Angebot nur normaler Durchschnitt für ein 5 Sterne Hotel aber die Bedienungen waren ausgesprochen zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Gefährlich fand ich den Fußweg von der Straße links und rechts hoch zur Eingangstür des Hotels. Durch die merkwürdigen Stufen und die gelben Streifen bin ich mehrfach fast gestürzt.

Very nice hotel in the Providencia district, good connection to the metro, absolutely helpful staff and good breakfast. We were a group which arrived and left on different days. We stayed for one night ...between flights. From the south to the north in this hotel and could deposit luggage, everything worked out wonderfully. I can totally recommend it

The place is amazing to look at, modern arty styles, lighting, graphics, attention to detail. Complimentary bottles of water in the fridge. fully functional kitchen, iron, hairdryer, big TV, toiletries, table and chairs in the studio standard room. My room had a Balcony but onlly with a view of the office building opposite, and partially of the street to the left. Nice rooftop pool, cold water but nice and refreshing in summer, and the view is INCREDIBLE! Views of the Andes mountains and city buildings. Area is close to everything, walkable to most places including some hiking trails, and only 4-5 euros/dollars Uber to the city centre. Staff were young, friendly, helpful and spoke good English. They gave me a map with information on where to go. Buffet beakfast was really nice with fresh juices, fresh fruit and a selection of other foods. Breakfast was in the adjoining Portuguese restaurant which has some great food and not too expensive either. The lifts and toilets were beautifully scented, and smelt great! The hotel price is very affordable and very reasonable for what you get, the location, the pool etc. The catering staff in the restaurant were all very professional and helpful. Disliked · You need a credit card to hold the room and as a deposit and my debit cards and even a credit card were all declined which left me panicking when I got an email saying that the reservation would be cancelled. I emailed lots of times but got no reply until the last minute where I was told that they would hold the room for me. I drew out cash on arrival to use as a deposit and had it returned when I checked out. Unfortunately, there are no recycling facilities at the hotel, but when I asked at reception they offered to take my recycling for me. The AC machines are quite noisy so I ended up not using it, but only the fan. There is no balcony furniture at all and you're not allowed to take any to use from inside. The scrambled egg was a little undercooked for me but when I asked, they'd always cook it a bit more for me. If you need assistance from the rooftop pool area on level 12, there's no telephone to contact reception. Despite all this I'd still highly recommend this hotel 100%!

On the last night of our holiday, 300924, my travel companion and I both had our backpacks stolen from the hotels Reception area of the Almasur Hotel, Santiago, Chile. The Hotel did have Security staff onsite, but there was no security manning the front door. When I made a formal complaint, the General Mgr of the hotel needed to check the CCTV footage for any theft. He seemed very put out by the fact that he had to do the checks of the CCTV footage. He did locate someone suspicious in the Hotel Reception area, who we suspect was the thief of our backpacks. I did see the footage but the footage wasn’t shared with me. My issues for complaint are:  There was no security staff on the front door – people not staying at the hotel were free to come and go without checks;  The General Manager, who was in the building and at the front desk when we were standing there, made no effort to approach us and / or apologise for any inconvenience caused by the theft;  To date we have received nothing from the hotel acknowledging the theft, even though I reported it to the front desk within 30 minutes of it happening. Another interesting fact is that one of our tour companions had something removed from her room in the same hotel – this was an item she had purchased to take home to Australia. The item was clearly packaged in the room to show it was not rubbish / refuse however the hotel claimed it was taken and disposed of as rubbish. The item had to be repurchased. Beautiful hotel and location, but something needs to be done about security in the hotels Reception area.

I gave this hotel 3 stars because of its location and friendly service in the breakfast room . We checked in the evening about 9 pm and the desk clerk knew little to no English . Luckily I was traveling with someone who spoke Spanish but even he had trouble understanding the clerk. He kept asking for our exit papers for leaving Chile . Until he showed us a copy of our PDI form did we understand what he was talking about . The carpets are well worn in the hallways and the rooms , the furniture is also well worn.There was no view except our room looked into apartments across the alleyway . The welcome drink was limited to about 3 choices and again the bartender knew no English , besides having no personality. The breakfast room was pleasant and had average choices … the young lady working the breakfast room recooked our eggs as they were very runny and not edible , she remembered us the following day and Immediately had our eggs the way we preferred. She was very pleasant ! The day desk clerk spoke very good English and was very helpful storing ourluggage as we had a late pick up to the airport . The hotel was clean and had large open spaces . Very centrally located , close to the shopping center inside Gran Costanera Center , the largest and tallest building in South America . Lots of restaurants and bars close by , very nice neighborhood. We felt safe .

Olhando as avaliações daqui fiquei um pouco receosa, mas tive uma excelente estrada, não tenho do que reclamar. Fiquei hospedada no Mr. Apart Providencia (na mesma entrada funciona o Mr Hotel e também o Mr Apart, cada um com uma proposta diferente). Os recepcionistas foram bem simpáticos e nos informaran que se tivéssemos passeios cedo, poderíamos avisar na recepção 1 dia antes que eles preparavam o café da manhã pra levar. O café da manhã era gostoso e tinha bastante variedade. O quarto tinha tudo o que precisávamos, tv, frigobar, secador de cabelo, aquecedor e uma mini cozinha com acessórios para cozinhar. A cama era confortável e tinha bastante edredom. A limpeza era feita diariamente. A localização era excelente, perto de restaurantes, do metrô e do shopping. Fizemos tudo a pé. Nada a reclamar.

Der Service für Mädchen auf der Rezeption ist besonders gut. Ob Sie das Frühstück organisieren oder eine Reihe von Beratungen beantworten, der Service ist alles in seiner Macht Stehende und enthusiastisch, das Englische Niveau ist auch sehr gut. Sicherheit öffnet auch immer die Tür und greift. Das Zimmer ist sehr sauber und trocken, die Bettwäsche und die Zubehör sind im Zimmer geräumig, die Landschaft außerhalb des Fensters ist wunderschön, der höchste Turm in der linken amerikanischen Region, der berühmte Schneeberg 🏔️ auf der rechten Seite ist klar. Die ruhigen und dynamischen Straßen sind nicht zu verlieren. Der Supermarkt unter dem höchsten Turm ist nur zu Fuß entfernt. Der Supermarkt unter Starbucks ist der Supermarkt. Es gibt Pizza, McDonald Lawrence oder andere Hotelrestaurants umgeben. Der Verkehr ist komfortabel und sicher. Das Frühstück ist gut. Joghurt, Käseball, Käse, ”Pilze”, Kaffee ist mein Lieblingsspiel.

Alle Mitarbeiter.innen (Empfang, housekeeping, Küche) waren äußerst hilfsbereit und erfüllten unsere Wünsche prompt. Unser Zimmer 904 DZ superior war groß, hell , mit getrenntem Waschbereich und Dusche/Wc im Bad. Die Betten samt Kopfkissen perfekt, das Frühstück grandios, Eierspeisen werden auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet man wird unaufgefordert gefragt. Eine Vielzahl an frisch gepressten Säften , frischem Obst, warmen Speisen, süßen Kleinigkeiten und diversen Kaffeespezialitäten ect. Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt. Der Costanera Sky Tower ist fussläufig in 5 Minuten zu erreichen. Am Hotel rechts um die Ecke hält der Hop on - hop off Bus, mit dem man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten entspannt anfahren kann. Da unser Fug erst abends angesetzt war, fragte ich nach der Möglichkeit eines Late-Check-outs. Auch das wurde ermöglicht, bis 14 Uhr kostenlos, danach pro Std. 15 €. Dadurch war es ein entspannter Tag in Santiago de Chile und ein geglückter Transfer von Valparaiso zum Flughafen von Santiago de Chile.
