Alte Tradition Guest House

Alte is a lovely village and worth a visit. I stayed over night during a walking holiday. The hotel is very modern, clean and trendy. Staff is excellent. My room was beautiful, full of light from several windows on 2 sides. Bathroom was huge with an awesome shower. Breakfast was extensive and fresh scrambled eggs and bacon available. All was very well done. There was no coffee or water in the room. Electric use required a card insertion. Unfortunately my particular room was very near the pool pump and when it was running there was a distinct metallic rhythmic sound that took me till the am to figure out. There is a roof top sitting area that I really liked. There was a hot tub, but it was not heated. In the end, there are some really good things to say, but it felt very corporate. Not traditional at all.

Staff were helpful and friendly, especially Rita. Loved the overall feel of the hotel.

We loved our stay at the Alte Tradition Guest House. The staff were all lovely and breakfast was great too! They even catered for us by getting gluten free bread for my GF who is a celiac. Unfortunately due to no fault of their own there is construction right outside and it was loud and dusty which dampened our ability to stay there throughout the day to relax in what is a small but ok pool, and a nice hot tub. There aren’t too many options to eat around the area but there are local supermarkets and ample parking five minutes walk down the road instead of having to navigate the small streets of the town. Overall I’d give the property 5/5 stars but only 2/5 for the surrounding area which is a shame. That being said, if you have transport it’s a great location to explore, with around a 25/30 min drive to the airport and beaches.

The guesthouse is located on narrow cobblestone streets. We had to park about 100 meters out on the Main Street. The room is very clean and modern. They serve a wonderful breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place.

Alte Tradition Guesthouse clearly is brand new. The place even faintly smelled like paint when we settled in our room. We got sent the codes of a small safe beforehand, so we could collect our room key without there having to be somewhere present. We did bump into a nice young lady though, who gave us a quick tour of the facilities. We loved our room and the very original decoration. In Alte Tradition Guesthouse every room is different, which gives your stay something extra. The room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was truly excellent. Everything was brand new. The breakfast was served at our table on the patio with the very (very) small pool. The pool was so small we didn't bother using it. But is was there if you needed to cool off. The guesthouse also has a hot tub on the roof terrace, which was sadly closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. The breakfast was good, with scrambled eggs, bread, cheese, charcuterie, yogurt and some fruit. I did get the impression some of the Iztur staff members really needed extra training. They clearly weren't very well organized. Our second day breakfast we had to wait for more than twenty minutes at our table before we got anything to eat. Hard to understand, when all you have to do is bring a plate with some bread and cheese. You can always bring out the scrambled eggs later. All in all we had a pleasant stay in this lovely village. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic room, though no tea or coffee making facilities and in our case, no glasses or cups, but that was an oversight, everything else was immaculate. Alte is a really nice town for a visit

Great guest house. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculately clean. Bed was comfy. The upstairs had a hot tub and seating area ideal for sitting back, relaxing and drinking some Portuguese wine. The plunge pool is great for those walking the Via Portugal. Breakfast was excellent. All taste catered for including some scrambled eggs and bacon. The guest house is centrally situated in the small town and there are numerous places to eat and drink. Highly recommended.

Logement parfait spacieux, sécurisé dans un quartier calme et paisible. Le personnel est gentille et disponible. Les locaux sont récents propre et bien entretenue. Je recommande ce logement pour un court ou long séjour.

La chambre est propre et très agréable. Le village est charmant. Les possibilités de se restaurer aux alentours sont très satisfaisantes.
