Ich buchte dieses B&B, weil der Preis für York erscheint vernünftig. Aber die Nacht vor meiner Ankunft, passierte ich wieder zu prüfen und sah, dass die Rate deutlich billiger als das, was ich zahlen würde. Ich habe gefragt, ob ich an den neuen Preis annullieren und neubuchen könnte, aber die Antwort war fest: keine Änderungen, keine Erstattungen, weil ich bereits in einer „nicht veränderbaren“ Reservierung verschlossen. So habe ich sie geschluckt und mir selbst gesagt, zumindest es ist haushaltsfreundlich. Der guten Wille dauerte bis 2 Uhr. Der Kerl im Bündel unter mir begann nicht die freundliche Art zu schnüren, sondern ein tiefes, gutturales Roar, das durch den Metallrahmen und direkt in meinen Schädel vibrate. Ich lag dort, erschöpft, versuchte Ohrschneider, Knöchel, sogar Telefongeräusche. Nichts durch sie geschnitten. Die Schnorchel ging für Stunden fort; ich zähle die Decken bis Morgen. Am Morgen war ich ein Zombie, und ich konnte nur denken: Wenn ich nur nicht mit dieser Regel ohne Rebook gefangen gewesen wäre, hätte ich ein ruhigeres Zimmer anderswo gewählt. Einsparen von £20 war nicht wert, einen vollen Tag der Sehenswürdigkeit in York zu verlieren. Dieser Ort ist gut für schwere Schlafspenden, aber wenn Sie leicht empfindlich wie ich sind, bezahlen Sie bitte die Extra und bekommen ein privates Zimmeroder zumindest bringen militärische Klasse Ohrenpuppen. Ich bin nicht wütend, nur müde und ehrlich. Schlaf ist wertvoll, und kein Rabatt kann es wieder kaufen.

We booked the family room as visiting friends in the village. Well the room was more like a an apartment, with a separate room with two single beds for the kids. Lovely decor and nice bedding. The rooms were immaculate and fitted out to a high standard. Charming views of the river. We had a lovely evening meal downstairs. If you try the speciality Parmo, be warned that a whole one is definitely one for those with a big appetite. The location is great with an easy walk to local shops and centre of the village. The continental breakfast was also very generous and set us up for the day. In summary, we were really impressed with the rooms and would definitely book again for our next visit and would highly recommend it. Thank you to all the team at The Buck.

What a little gem of a place. First time visit, travelling on my own for business. Perfect location for me. Beautiful room, very clean, warm and comfortable with plenty of towels and pillows. Big TV, easy to navigate remote! Bathroom was spotless, nice complimentary toiletries. Comfy bed, had a good sleep once I managed to get off, could hear other guests on the corridor, but I guess I was earlier settling in than the average on a Sunday evening (early to work Monday!) Breakfast was really good quality, fair selection of hot and cold options, lots of fresh fruit on offer too. Very impressed, bit disappointed I arrived later on the Sunday evening and decided not to have an evening meal now!

Obwohl es auf einer Hauptstraße leicht verpasst wird, vor allem in der Nacht, da es keine attraktiven Zeichen gibt. Auf der Website Parkplatz ist sehr beschränkt, obwohl es einen öffentlichen Parkplatz ca. 100 m unten die Straße gibt. Es ist nahe dem Dorfzentrum. Das Zimmer war sauber, Größe und Dekorationen sind auch vernünftig.

We loved staying in this little hotel, a large and clean room with comfy bed and pillows, spotlessly clean and well stocked coffee and tea tray. As we stayed on Friday, the carvery was served and the food was good (the beef and roasted carrots was excellent) and plentiful with the price you can't beat. Excellent value for money, the same applies for drinks. Welcoming staff and free parking. Despite being positioned by the road , we had a peaceful night , no outside noise. We will stay again here as all together, it was a good hotel to stay in and I recommend it to others , for visits of Ripon, Fountains Abbey, Dales...

The location is perfect. Alternative parking was offered if needed, which it was not as we parked in the front of The George. The room was spacious (we were in number 10) with a sitting area and desk for those who require to do work ... the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was top notch ... we ordered Steak and Ale Pie, which was delicious and Fish and Chips (asked for them to leave off the fresh/mushy peas) ... the fish was enormous, fresh and very tasty ... the fries/chips were homemade. All in all, we would highly recommend The George.

Reasonable rate for a room over the Easter bank holidays in a good location for the train station and to get food. Generally clean comfortable room and bed. Would stay again.

Beautifully appointed room, incredibly quiet until the kitchen fans went on in the morning, but not an issue. The bathroom was exceptionally clean with everything needed for a long bath if required. The amenities within the room were fabulous. An incredibly comfortable bed with plenty of wardrobe space if needed. The only let down was a repair made to the window had left a paint 'scar' that needed repainting. The pub was very olde wordly and fabulous.
