Fantastic views, good breakfast. Some of the staff were disinterested in answering our questions about the island, tours, and bike rentals. But Lisa was very helpful and kind.

Bobocabin never disappoints! This is my second stay, but this time at Bobocabin Parapat, it really elevated my Danau Toba experience. Stunning views, a comfy bed, and great water pressure. Check-in was super easy too. If I ever come back to North Sumatra, I’d definitely stay here again.

Tolle Unterkunft! Absolut empfehlenswert. Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und gab uns alle nötigen Informationen. Es gibt einen kostenlosen Abhol- und Bringservice vom nahegelegenen Bootssteg. Unsere Zimmer bieten einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den Tobasee. Die Unterkunft bietet außerdem einen Motorradverleih zu einem supergünstigen Preis. Wer nach Samosir reist, sollte diese Unterkunft unbedingt in Betracht ziehen. Auch meine betagten Eltern waren begeistert.

Very convenient location..close to the 'old town' area of Medan and the city centre. Apartment had good facilities and a nice pool which was well maintained. Negative was the bed linen needs updating and the pillows were not nice. For the price of 10 night stay it is fantastic value and adjust expectations accordingly.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet a bit away from the main town, Tuktuk Timbul is very well located. We stayed in one of their traditional-style little houses, which were very cute and charming. It’s a great spot if your plan is simply to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and do nothing much. The homestay has a restaurant (we didn’t try the food though), a pool, a ping pong table, and a billiard table — so you can easily stay entertained without leaving the property. For the price, it’s definitely good value. That said, if you want to explore or do activities around Lake Toba, this may not be the best base. There isn’t much to do in the immediate area, and the staff weren’t very helpful when we asked for recommendations — apart from renting a scooter, they didn’t provide much guidance. Communication was also tricky as they don’t really speak English. Service felt a bit cold overall; the owners live nearby but never greeted us, which made us feel like we were disturbing them rather than being welcomed. In summary: a good option if your goal is to switch off, relax, and stay put at the homestay itself. But if you’re looking for friendly service, local tips, or activities beyond the property, you might find it lacking.

Wir hatten so eine tolle Zeit! Die Leute waren super freundlich und denken mit uns. Auch mit einem von ihnen haben wir Surfszenen! Wir haben viel gelehrt, auch die meisten von uns nicht zuvor surfen. Auch die Aussicht, Lebensmittel und Service war sehr schön Würde sehr empfehlen :)

Pesan kamarnya gampang,yg susah cuma jumpai sang pemilik kamar, mungkin slah saya karena pesan yg pribadi orang, jdi agak ribet, gk bisa ambil konci melalui reservasinya, It’s ok gpp. Kamarnya lengkap kok. Aku suka.
