They both practise Transcendental Meditation as taught by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, which brings a softness and refinement to their performance. Diptesh Bhattacharya wins the hearts of discerning audiences with his personal style, unique tonal quality and the Khyal aang baaj, or ‘playing like vocal’. As a Sangeet Visharad awardee, he has performed internationally for over 20 years in prestigious concerts and festivals. At the incredible age of three, Diptesh trained in Indian Classical Vocal before falling in love with the sarod and training under world-renowned sarod maestro Kushal Das, as well as sitar maestros Anindya Banerjee and Subroto Roy Chowdhury.
