I have never stayed in a hotel where the service and experience progressively got worse each day. Everything just started going downhill during our second day you wake up in the morning and the first thing that happens is you are asked about joining one of the tours and offer through the hotel and they do that every chance they get and the moment they find out that you have a booking For a tour with another company and not through them, they will just little snide comments and make you regret your decisions. The second thing was the food you had to order lunch hours before and when you ordered for specific time you get to the restaurant you still have to wait at least another 30 minutes to get it, I ordered calamari on one of those days for eight and only got four small pieces of calamari and that was it just for small pieces of calamari and fried plantain so that was basically two dollars per calamari. There was an element of feeling unsafe because one of the mornings as I was walking up to breakfast there was a strange man just walking around and when I get to breakfast, one of the staff members there tells me that there’s a man who has been asking about me and looking for me and as I turned there, that man is standing right there and my question was, how are you letting this man on the premises, and what if you wanted to come to me and you guys are letting him walk around this entire place because I ran into him on the other side of the hotel so there was that as well which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and uneasy and unsafe. They didn’t spray any mosquito spray as it’s common in the area to in and spray the room with mosquito spray at the end of each evening they only did that first night and we had to keep them and each time it was met with just a sigh of inconvenience like we were inconveniencing them getting there difficult worth it and I think that is the one thing I can attest to being the better part of this entire establishment, but that aside the services awful. You will go hungry, we told the bar open a specific time but it wouldn’t open. Also they change their rules at one day. It’s OK to have a meal by the bar closer to the beach the next day you can’t do that but then you’ll see them. Send them food down for specific people so that was also extremely offputting, I can safely say I will never set foot in that place ever again. Also, the WiFi was bad

Good location - in the center of everything in Stone town. They don’t have water coolers for clients - you have to go to the restaurant to refill. Also: it seems they bought another building. So they accommodated us in like 200 meters from main facility. Surely it’s kind of inconvenient but still ok.

Zimmer, Balkon, Aussicht vom Zimmer und Restaurant ist wirklich schön. Aber nur eine Sache müssen sie in ihrem Rezeption Kundenservice verbessern. Zimmer, das ich unterzeichnete, als ich incheckte und Zimmer, das ich wirklich empfangen hatte, war anders. Sie wechselten das Zimmer ohne vorherige Ankündigung. Am letzten Tag fragte ich wieder nach zwei Stunden späten Auscheck. Sie lehnten meinen Antrag nicht einmal das System zu prüfen. Sag einfach Nein. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht über ihre Haltung. Und als ich die Website überprüfte, gab es noch viel Raum. Wie jeder weiß, ist Zanzibar der Urlaubsort. Die meisten von 5 Stern-Hotels im Urlaubsort, sie laufen Zeit ausprüfen sehr flexibel aufgrund der Flugzeit. Es verdient nicht, 5 Sterne im Kundenservice zu haben.

Fabelhafte Lage. Ich genossen, alle gepflegten alten Artefakte zu sehen und die 500 Jahre Geschichte des Ortes zu lesen. Die Leute waren wunderbar. Das Zimmer war komfortabel und ruhig. Das Badezimmer war modern und sauber. Ich würde dort wieder bleiben.

Excellent stay at this lovely hotel! I can’t recommend it enough. It was an incredible price for the location and service. Very comfortable and clean room, great location near everything but on a quiet, tucked away block. Fabulous service and assistance from all of the staff. Arriving a bit late to breakfast hours and hoping maybe I can grab a bit of left over fruit- “no problem” and served me a full sit-down breakfast. Needed assistance retrieving a package from the crazy ferry terminal and the front desk attendant personally went to pick it up for me at the end of his shift. Many more examples of kind and helpful staff. I highly recommend and would definitely return.

Absolut bezaubernd – von unserer Ankunft um 5 Uhr morgens bis zu unserer Abreise drei Tage später wurden wir unglaublich gut betreut. Das Hotel organisierte unsere Abholung vom Flughafen und öffnete mit einem leichten Klopfen (Sie brauchen vielleicht Hilfe, um es zu finden, da es in den engen Gassen des alten Stonetown liegt). Die Vorderseite des Hauses war hervorragend und Peter hat sich um uns gekümmert. Das Hotel hat so viel Atmosphäre, voller Antiquitäten und üppiger Vegetation. Das Frühstück wird auf dem Dachbalkon serviert. Ausflüge können organisiert werden. Ich hatte ein paar unangenehme Bewertungen gelesen, aber ich kann mir nicht erklären, warum, die Sauberkeit war erstklassig und die Gastfreundschaft hervorragend. Ich hoffe, Sie haben Glück und finden ein Zimmer – wir blieben drei Nächte, es war so gut.

Ich war nach den vielen negativen Bewertungen etwas besorgt, aber bei meiner Ankunft stellte ich fest, dass das Hotel eine tolle Lage hatte, direkt neben Stone Town und direkt gegenüber von Hafen und Strand. Das Hotel ist recht neu und die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich. Sie sind zwar nicht groß, aber ausreichend. Die Dusche war stark, aber das Warmwasser hielt nicht lange an – eine typisch afrikanische Erfahrung, also hätte es schneller gehen müssen. Aufgrund der Lage war es recht feucht, sodass zum Trocknen aufgehängte Kleidung zwei Tage lang nicht trocknete, und das Bett war ziemlich laut, wenn ich mich umdrehte. Ansonsten war alles in Ordnung. Das Frühstücksbuffet kostete 10 Dollar pro Person und war so sättigend, dass ich das Mittagessen ausfallen ließ. Das Personal an der Rezeption war beim Ein- und Auschecken sehr freundlich, und ich konnte mein Gepäck aufbewahren. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel für diesen Preis empfehlen.
