My wife and I visited Catalina Island for our 28th anniversary — our first time back since before we were married in 1997. We chose the Catalina Canyon Inn specifically for the pool, jacuzzi, on-site restaurant, and shuttle service. Their website is very nice and seemed like a perfect match for the occasion. Unfortunately, very little matched what was advertised. Shuttle: The shuttle was not waiting at the Catalina Express port when we arrived on the last ferry Saturday evening which was unexpected. Four of us were left waiting in the dark for about 20 minutes until the other couple called the hotel. The driver was friendly and apologized, but this set the tone for the weekend. The shuttle was consistently unreliable throughout our stay. They tell you to call the driver directly, but he often didn't answer. You'd end up having to call the hotel instead, and the shuttle only seemed to come after someone went inside and told the front desk in person. At one point we waited 45 minutes. Some guests got frustrated and just decided to walk, but the hotel sits at the top of a steep hill — not a realistic option, especially for older guests like us. Their website suggests the shuttle runs regularly, but that was far from our experience. Restaurant: We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM Saturday and were turned away, even though their website says they're open until 8:00 PM. We had to rush down the hill to find dinner to-go in town before the shuttle stopped running at 8:45. It was a shame we didn't even have time to stay and eat on our anniversary or face having to trek up that hill. The next morning I mentioned this to the restaurant owner, who insisted they closed at 8:00 and that she was there. She then told us the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM on Sundays — so dinner there that night wasn't an option either. She was very friendly though I must say. On Monday we finally had breakfast before checkout. The food was mediocre and didn't match the glowing reviews at all. The prices were also odd — $12 for mozzarella sticks, $20 for nachos, but only $11 for pulled pork sliders, which you'd expect to be the pricier item. The pricing just didn't add up. While we were there, another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM because the restaurant closes from 2–4 on Mondays. We could feel their frustration. Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi we were looking forward to was covered up and converted into a gazebo with chairs. At first we couldn't find it but yea. No mention of this on the website. Room issues: The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The front desk told us we can mention it to housekeeping, who didn't come until after 5:00 PM. We got the soap and a couple fresh towels. The towels themselves were thin and didn't dry well overnight so fresh ones were sorely needed to get at least one shower in with soap before we had to leave the next day. The TV didn't work at all, and the microwave was unplugged — though I was able to fix that myself. The hotel also doesn't offer complimentary coffee, which is standard at most hotels we've stayed at for half the price. The good: The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the balcony was a nice touch. The room was quiet. Bottom line: The website gives a very different impression than what you actually get. Between the unreliable shuttle, limited and unpredictable restaurant hours, missing amenities, thin towels, and no coffee, this was not the anniversary experience we hoped for. I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to downtown so you're not dependent on a shuttle and stuck with limited options. I think we need to redo our anniversary. It was a miss for sure.

Das Hotel befindet sich auf einer Halbinsel, vor und nach der Bay, die Landschaft ist sehr schön. Es gibt ein paar Kilometer von der Downtown entfernt, und es ist auch bequem, zum Einkaufen zu fahren. Unterhalb des Parkplatzes gibt es 30 Messer pro Tag. Der Service auf der Rezeption ist sehr gut und es wird schnell gepflegt. Die Zimmerausstattung ist etwas alt und es gibt einen kleinen Balkon, der die Meeresaussichten anschauen kann. Das Badezimmer ist im Allgemeinen sauber, aber das Badezimmer hat einen Wachs gefunden.

I feel less dogs would be nice. As well as a microwave in the room would be helpful along with a coffee ☕️ pot, and iron to say the least. Other then that KIKI the manager is easy to talk to, she listens and provides excellent service. Thank you Kiki, & Zack Patrivua McIntosh

Pros: - ausgezeichneter Wert für Komfort und Ausstattung unter $65/night - großes Desk & komfortable Sitz für Laptop-Arbeit - nette moderne Philips-Großbild-TV können Sie über HDMI anschließen - Das Internet war ok (~10Mbps) aber täglich abgekoppelt (wiederverbinden Sie das WiFi wiederhergestellt) - ziemlich ruhig, betrachtet die Nähe zum Autobahn: nur weiße Lärm, haben keine Revolte oder Sirenen gehört - Wände bieten nicht viel Sound-Isolierung, aber ich habe nur eine Nachbarkonversation während meines Aufenthalts gehört 2-week. Es half mir, dass ich ein Zimmer im oberen Stock und neben dem Janitorialraum (#522) gewählt habe. - die Wand-A/C war überraschend ruhig, und die Heizung funktionierte schnell - Belüftung war ok, wenn Sie das Fenster ungefähr 1ft öffnen - nur 3 fliegende Insekten und ein Krähen in der Dusche - sauberes Zimmer, nur wenige Haarbänder in der Dusche gefunden - Mini-Kühlschrank war ruhig und hält eine Woche Nahrungsmittelwert - großer Einsatz von Raum: 4 große Schleifen, Rack mit Kleidung hängen, Raum für Koffer, 2 Spiegel - das Personal war sehr nett, eine Mikrowelle, Kann öffnen, Papierplatten zu bieten - der Pool war sauber - zwei Hot-Tubes waren großartig, und viel sauberer als mein Freund, der am Hof bei Marriott neben der Tür geblieben war - Münzwaschbecken auf der Website ($2.50 + $2.50 W/D, $1.50 Waschsaft) - schöne Landschaft und Sie könnten Eucalyptus Bäume riechen Neutral: - der Pool/Hot-Tube-Bereich geschlossen um 10 Uhr - es gibt nichts zu tun in der Walk-Zone (nur andere Hotels), aber North Park ist nur eine $10 Uber Fahrt entfernt, und die Mode Mall ist direkt über die Autobahn - Bau vor der Lobby sollte bis Ende 2025 abgeschlossen sein Kons: - der Fitnessraum war klein und fehlte: nur 4 Kardiomaschinen (eine elliptische, die schrecklich fühlte) und eine Kabelstation mit festen Kabelpunkten; keine kostenlosen Gewichte, Handtücher oder Wasserkühler-Tassen

Das Hotel war gut, aber nicht perfekt. Ich mag das Hotel, das sauber erscheint und die Lage war nahe dem Hafen. Das Bett war bequem das Badezimmer war schön für mich. Ich hatte Schwierigkeiten, die Einfahrt in der Nacht zu finden, es schien nicht super offensichtlich, Check in sie mussten meine Karte 6 mal laufen, obwohl es genehmigt gesagt hat sie sagte, es nicht durch sie dauerte lange. Sie sagte, es sei wer ich gebucht habe (Trip.com) ihr Ende funktionierte nicht. Nach dem Einchecken fuhr ich zum Parkplatz auf den Tor. Um die Tür zu öffnen, solltest du den Raumschlüssel verwenden und über den blauen Knopf schütteln, aber in der Nacht habe ich es nicht gesehen und ich schüttelte einen anderen Bildschirm, der eine Fehlermeldung ließ, bis sie 5 Autos hinter mir waren und jemand rauskam. Und hilfte. Das ist meine Schuld, aber vielleicht ein Licht auf sie. Parkplatz ist $50, die ich vor dem Lesen anderer Bewertungen wusste. Ich könnte noch einmal dort bleiben, wenn der Preis richtig ist.

Das Personal war freundlich und das Zimmer geräumig und schlicht, aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Mir gefiel auch das große Badezimmer. Es gab kostenlosen Kaffee und Wasser, was sehr praktisch war. Im Innenhof gibt es Feuerstellen und Sofas zum Entspannen, und abends kann man sich Smores zubereiten.

Cute and quaint stay. The hot tub and pool were still not functioning during our stay, which was a disappointment for the kids. Other nice amenities for this area were that there was cable tv in the room and Wi-Fi available which other hotels I’ve stayed at in this area did not offer. I did not realize this hotel was actually located across the street from the water so it’s not actually waterfront as I had anticipated mentally when I thought about where The Tides was located. It’s still a very nice location and very close by to The Tides, though. I would stay here again. 

My husband and I recently had our wedding at Bahia Resort, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We visited many venues in San Diego, but Bahia immediately stood out for its warm hospitality. During our initial visit, we were greeted with water, coffee, and snacks—something none of the other venues offered. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel genuinely welcome from the start. I especially appreciated the extra touches, like public toilet seats with covers, which are rare to find in the States but made me feel more comfortable. The staff at Bahia are exceptional—always friendly, patient, and ready to help with any request. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a private beach that adds a special touch to any event. One thing I loved about Bahia is how animal-friendly it is. It’s not just dog-friendly; you’ll see ducks wandering around the grounds and even rescued seals staying at the property. It’s such a unique and charming environment! Our hotel room was spacious and spotless, providing a comfortable retreat after a busy wedding day. If I had to mention areas for improvement, I wish the rooms had a kettle for making tea. Also, the guest laundry requires buying tokens and detergent from the gift shop, but there’s no signage in the laundry room explaining this process, which caused a bit of confusion. Overall, both we and our guests thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bahia Resort. The beautiful setting, thoughtful amenities, and outstanding service made our wedding truly memorable. I highly recommend Bahia Resort to anyone looking for a special venue or a relaxing getaway in San Diego!

Die geografische Lage ist gut, nahe dem Meer, ein Hotel ist ähnlich wie ein inländisches schnelles Hotel, die Hardware ist allgemein, die Klimaanlage und die Ausstattung sind sehr laut. Parken ist bequem, aber es muss 21 Dollar pro Nacht zahlen. Außerdem ist es wunderbar, dass das Auto nicht direkt von der Halle in das Hotel zu den Gästezimmern fahren kann. Nachdem die Halle überprüft werden muss, muss es dann auf die Dama Road und zum Hotelparkplatz fahren. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist im Allgemeinen nicht hoch. Das Frühstück ist immer noch gut.
