湯沢の街を守り続ける国内最初のアーチ式砂防堰堤

大源太川を、登録有形文化財となっている国内最初のアーチ式砂防堰堤により、堰き止められて出来た湖です。 この砂防堰堤により完成した昭和14年以降湯沢の街は水害から守られて、現在観光地として発展して来たのだそうです。 今回は、堰堤が増設され、その工事の後片付け期間だそうで、仮桟橋に大型クレーンが設置したままであり、やや景観が残念でしたが、周りの遊歩道の散策を楽しみました。

工事中で景色を楽しめませんでした

静かで良いところだと思いますが、大規模な工事中だったため、クレーン等があり、景色を楽しめる状態ではありませんでした。残念です。
