奈良時代創建の由緒あるお寺

今から１３００年ほど前、奈良時代に創建されたといわれる天台宗のお寺です。駐車場に車を止めて、参道を進んでいくと仁王門があります。その先には阿弥陀堂、そして江戸中期に再建された多宝塔があります。本堂である観音堂も３００年ほど前の江戸中期の再建です。小高い場所にあり境内からの眺めはよいです。

坂東三十三番札所はそれほど登らずして海が一望

坂東三十三番札所の此処は、山の上に観音堂が建っていますが、恐れていたほど厳しい登りではなく、お堂の前からは海が一望出来ました。青空と青い海ならもっと良かったのですが・・・。 御朱印は普段は観音堂の脇でいただけるようですが、悪天候だったからか、下の駐車場脇の本坊で書いていただきました。
