Bring Bug Repellant!
Very interesting site. Super cool to see. We took public buses from Rui Caribe and back and felt very safe. Read about the site before you go as there is minimal explanation on site.

Mayan ruins in north Cancun - El Meco
Great bike ride from our hotel to see the El Meco ruins. Lots of signs to explain what we were seeing. We spent about an hour and kids enjoyed seeing all the iguanas!
