GGastnutzerUpon arrival, check-in at reception was smooth. We were provided with our room key and directed to our accommodation, which required us to drive to the other side of the estate. However, when we reached the room, the key did not work. We walked back to reception, where we were informed that a network issue had prevented the key from being properly programmed. The receptionist, who was very helpful, offered to accompany us to the room and opened it using a master key. She assured us that a functioning key would be delivered as soon as the network was restored.
Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been cleaned. The window sill was sticky with what appeared to be beverage spills, the floor was dirty, the bathroom mats were not fresh, and most concerning, there were rat droppings on the window sill, on the floor behind the curtains, and behind the door. I contacted reception to request housekeeping and asked to speak with a manager, as the condition of the room was unacceptable. A housekeeping staff member arrived, but I requested that cleaning not proceed until the housekeeping manager assessed the situation. The manager quickly confirmed that the room had indeed not been cleaned and that there were clear signs of rodent activity. She apologised sincerely, asked us to wait while the room was cleaned, and said she would escalate the matter to the rooms division. While waiting on the terrace outside, we noticed a mouse in the bushes, which explained the droppings found inside.
After the room was cleaned, the manager returned, apologised again, and informed us that a complimentary bottle of wine had been arranged for us. We told her about the mouse we had seen and expressed that we did not feel comfortable staying in that room. She went back to speak with the rooms division, and we waited in the bar. An hour later, she returned with keys to a new room and directed us there. The replacement room was clean, though the entire experience made for a rocky start to our stay.
The following day, after breakfast, we returned to our room to find that the terrace doors had been removed and two maintenance staff were working. This came as an unexpected surprise, as no one had informed us that repairs would be taking place. We decided to return to the bar to allow the work to be completed. As we were celebrating a birthday that day, the housekeeping manager kindly arranged for our room to be decorated with a birthday message.
From that point onward, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the exceptional customer service at the restaurants, bars, and spa. In particular, we would like to recognise Moses, Regal, and Tebogo at Kingsley Restaurant; Sibongile at Granatas; and Mandy at the spa for their outstanding hospitality. They truly made our stay memorable.
Overall, despite the challenges we experienced upon arrival, we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making my mother’s birthday special.

I was booked into one of the Villa Suites, and it was an experience in itself. The suite was beautifully appointed, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, blending elegance with comfort in a way that felt both indulgent and homely. Every detail from the plush furnishings to the serene garden views contributed to a sense of effortless relaxation. It truly felt like a private sanctuary.
The service throughout my stay was impeccable. Staff members were warm, attentive, and intuitive without ever being intrusive. Whether it was assistance with luggage, dining recommendations, or simply a friendly check‑in to ensure everything was perfect, the team consistently delivered with professionalism and charm.
The hotel grounds are equally impressive. Lush, tranquil, and meticulously maintained, they create a peaceful escape that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city. It’s the ideal setting for unwinding, whether by the pool, in the spa, or simply strolling through the gardens.
Dining at Fairlawns was another highlight. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a menu that balances creativity and comfort. Every meal felt like a treat.
Overall, Fairlawns Boutique Hotel offers an exceptional blend of luxury, privacy, and heartfelt hospitality. My stay in the Villa Suite was unforgettable, and I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone seeking a refined and restorative escape in Johannesburg.

MMadiki NSIMBA ArnoldI had a good stay at The Catalyst Hotel. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well located. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stThe breakfast was really good, with a nice variety of options every morning. I also really enjoyed the free shuttle service to Sandton Mall , it was very convenient and made getting around much easier.
The only small downside was the balcony in my room. It was quite small, to the point that I couldn’t even fit a chair there. But overall, I still had a very pleasant experience and would recommend the hotel.

GGastnutzerDas ist ein tolles Hotel, in einer guten Lage. Die Eincheckung war reibungslos, Zimmerservice ist ein wenig langsam, aber. Haushalten ist ausgezeichnet, ich mag sie so sehr. Die Anlage ist großartig, aber ich mag nicht das Pool-Gebiet, ist immer mit so vielen Menschen verpackt. Einige von ihnen waren nicht einmal Gast im Hotel. Das macht es ein wenig unsicher, Ihren Besitz einfach umliegen zu lassen. Ich meine, Sie müssen alles jeden Tag, wenn Sie zum Loo gehen. Die Pool-Zone hatte keinen Platz, um sich zu sitzen und abends zu kühlen. Die Bar dauert ein bisschen, um Getränke zu bereiten. Die Wahrnehmung/Wächter war erstaunlich. Ich mag einfach nicht die Zeit auschecken. 10 am es ist zu früh und sie waren nicht gern auf eine Verlängerung mit nur einer Stunde. Ich denke nicht, ich werde wieder buchen. Sicherheitsfragen. Wenn andere Leute nicht so viel Zugang zum Hotel hatten, würde ich nicht daran interessieren, dort wieder zu bleiben.

AAzraa WajaAfter a long day I was getting ready to have a hot bubble bath only to find out that there was no hot water. The maintenance staff came to check and casually told me to wait 40 minutes for the water to heat up. It was so late and I was so tired. We ended up having to move to a different room with hot water, only to find out later that night that there were monkeys on the roof making so much noise throughout the night and there was very loud music going into the night from a neighboring property. Safe to say we didn't get much sleep. Not to mention the food we ordered from the restaurant was horrible, the fish was not fresh and the chips were undercooked. The salad was also terrible. We didn't even bother to stay for breakfast after it had taken more than an hour to get someone to fix the broken hair dryer and deliver my pillow which I had left in the previous room. The staff clearly do not care. Our spa treatments were also not that great. I'm quite disappointed as I've heard such good things about this place and I won't be returning. The location is great but for the price I don't think its worth it.

GGastnutzerExcellent séjour au Southern Sun de Rosebank. De la prise en charge à l'accueil, à l'installation dans la chambre tout s'est très bien passé. Du personnel (d'entretien, du bar, du restaurant, de l'accueil et de la sécurité) tous ont exercé avec sourire. La chambre était très bien équipée et propre. Le petit déjeuner copieux et très varié. Le restaurant une excellente table et du très bon vin.Une pensée particulière aux personnels qui nous ouvraient tous les jours le portail à l'arrière de l'hôtel nous facilitant ainsi le départ vers le poumon de Rosebank. La piscine bien que fraîche était toujours la bienvenue en fin de journée. Même si quelques menus travaux étaient en cours dans l'hôtel nous n'avons jamais été incommodés. Nous reviendrons c'est sûr.
Un grand bravo à l'hôtel et à tout son personnel. Nous reviendrons c'est sûr.

GGastnutzerWe made use of the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The drivers were helpful and friendly. This is a great value-added service. We were welcomed at reception by friendly staff. We were helped to our rooms. The rooms are modern, functional, and comfortable. We went to the 6th floor for dinner. The restaurant and bar there is called Level Seven. The staff there told us it was a privately owned restaurant and bar. We sat in the bar and ordered food and drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The only good thing about the food that night was that the fries were awesome and seasoned well. Breakfast the next morning in the main restaurant on the ground floor was exceptional—friendly staff and really good food. Overall, a great stay, let down unfortunately by the food at Level Seven.

Ich habe um 7 Uhr für einen Aufenthalt später dieselbe Nacht gebucht, und das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich und während des gesamten Prozesses untergebracht. Die Zimmer sind unglaublich sauber und wunderschön geräumig, leicht zu den besten Hotelunterkünften, die ich während meiner Besuche in Johannesburg erlebt habe.
Die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Details und das Engagement für den Gastkomfort ist in allen Aspekten dieser wunderbaren Einrichtung offensichtlich. Von dem warmen Willkommen am Frontdesk bis zu den gut ausgestatteten, komfortablen Zimmern hat dieses Hotel meine Erwartungen überschritten und seine Position als einer meiner besten bevorzugten Orte, um in der Stadt zu bleiben, fester gemacht.
