🔑 Check-In & Service Seamless Process: Check-in and check-out are incredibly easy. I really appreciated that they don't require a deposit like other hotels; you simply return your room card at the end of your stay. Outstanding Hospitality: Mister Bernard was so friendly, helpful, and hospitable throughout our entire stay! All the staff at Voyage Retreat are equally helpful and friendly, and it's wonderful that they are all locals. Easy Accessibility: Even though the pathway leading to the rooms is quite hilly, you can easily request a buggy service to get around. And for those with elders and kids, I think you can highlight to them for they to give you to a lower room. 🛏️ The Room & Comfort Spacious & Bright: As you can see in the pictures, the room itself gets plenty of natural lighting and features really high ceilings. Because of this, the room barely feels stuffy or hot during the afternoon and evening. Aircond/Fan: The air conditioning gets pretty cold, and there is also a ceiling fan provided. High-End Bedding: The bedsheets, pillows, and blankets are all spotless, clean, and completely odorless. The mattress is quite firm and thick, reminiscent of what you would find in a high-end hotel, and the pillows are fluffy and very comfortable to sleep on. In-Room Amenities: They provide a water purifier/filter machine right inside the room, which is incredibly convenient so you don't have to walk out to the receptionist or cafe area just to get water. Privacy with a View: The balcony and windows face directly toward the forest, giving you excellent privacy. 🚿 Bathroom & Amenities Spotless Cleanliness: Both the bathroom and toilet are perfectly clean with absolutely no musty smell. The provided towels are surprisingly absorbent, spotless, and fresh. Shower Facilities: The bathroom features both a standard shower and a water heater. The provided shower gel and shampoo smell absolutely amazing. Other Amenities: They provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, a shower cap, and even sanitary bags. 🍽️ Breakfast (Le Pont Cafe) Breakfast is served at the Le Pont Cafe right in front of the lodge. The food is excellent and went way beyond our expectations, with portions that are more than generous for one person. Menus: Crab Curry Mee (The Winner): Absolutely delicious! The broth is thick, flavorful, beautifully balanced, and not too spicy. It was the absolute highlight of the menu. Nasi Lemak: A very interesting take as it includes fish and prawns. The taste is good, similar to a standard hotel nasi lemak. Western Options: Both the English Breakfast and the egg mayo croissant were great as well. The croissant is flaky and fluffy. Desserts/Kuih: They serve fresh watermelon alongside a rotation of traditional local desserts that change daily, including seri muka, karipap, kuih ketayap, koci, and keria. 🛡️ Safety & Peace of Mind Secure Environment: At night, there is a guard doing rounds, so you never have to worry about safety. Honestly, the island itself feels very safe, and the property is surrounded by local houses. Really recommended to stay here if you're looking for a private, quite, clean, comfortable, picturesque place to stay in Pangkor. The only downside is the parking space is very limited. After a very positive first night here, as a solo Thai traveler in Malaysia, I felt this hotel was so much like home. I felt safe and comfortable staying here, which is why I decided to stay a third night. Initially, after two nights, I considered changing hotels, but after thinking it over, I felt this one was the best. Although it might be a bit far for some, there's a bus stop right in front, just a short walk away. There are also restaurants nearby, and the hotel offers a sense of freedom with plenty of space downstairs to use. Plus, the air conditioning in the room was very comfortable, and the bed was so soft that I slept soundly. If I have the chance, I might stay here again in the future

Zuerst möchte ich mich über die Kissen des Hotels beschweren. Sie haben ein katastrophales Design. Wer war so schlau, diese Kissen zu kaufen und tatsächlich darin zu schlafen? Es sind die schlechtesten Kissen, auf denen ich in all meinen Geschäftsreisejahren je geschlafen habe! Ich empfehle dringend, sie auszutauschen!!! Als Nächstes möchte ich das Frühstück loben, denn es ist großzügig und das Geschirr wird schnell nachgefüllt. Grab-Taxis sind schnell, und es gibt ein Einkaufszentrum in der Nähe, was das Leben angenehm macht. Aber die Kissen waren ein Albtraum!

Ipoh bietet nur eine begrenzte Auswahl an Hotels. Laut einheimischen Chinesen ist nur ein Hotel, das Weil, wirklich fünf Sterne wert. Das Marriott AC ist die nächsthöhere Option. Wenn Sie Geld sparen möchten und mit drei Erwachsenen reisen, könnte das ICC (das Internationale Kongresszentrum) eine gute Option sein. Lage: Zentral, aber nicht direkt in Chinatown. Es ist etwas weit entfernt von einigen guten Restaurants im Osten, die bis spät in die Nacht geöffnet haben. Einige der Sehenswürdigkeiten der Altstadt sind etwas zu Fuß entfernt, und Grab ist leicht erreichbar, also keine Sorge. Ausstattung: Es fühlte sich an wie renovierte ländliche Umsiedlungsunterkünfte oder Fabrikwohnheime in China, mit minimalistischer Einrichtung für Mietwohnungen (eigentlich sind sie für Tagesmieten gedacht, oder? Haha). Es war einigermaßen sauber und für diejenigen mit einem gemäßigteren Sauberkeitsempfinden akzeptabel. Eines der Zimmer hatte kein Fenster, aber wir waren erschöpft von der Reise, sodass es hilfreich war, schnell einzuschlafen. ⚠️ Die Waschmaschine hatte keinen Trockner, also seid euch dessen bewusst (ich hatte aufgrund der Bewertungen vor der Abreise mein eigenes Waschmittel mitgebracht und hätte es vielleicht auch an der Rezeption erwähnt, aber ich habe nicht danach gefragt). Ich musste sie mit einem Seil im Wohnzimmer aufhängen, während die Klimaanlage mit Luftentfeuchter und der Ventilator auf voller Leistung liefen, wodurch meine Kleidung über Nacht trocknete. Das Zimmer lag hoch oben und bot einen Blick auf fast ganz Ipoh (ich musste also nicht den Hügel zu den Perak-Höhlen hochklettern, haha). Natürlich gab es dafür etwas Lärm von den Bar-Lautsprechern und dem Gedränge der Motorräder in der Nacht, aber wir waren erschöpft von der Reise und haben das nach dem Einschlafen nicht bemerkt. Menschen mit Geräuschempfindlichkeit könnten das in Betracht ziehen. Frühstück: Besser als nichts, aber sehr einfach, mit Nudeln, die man selbst kochen muss. Ich empfehle, schnell etwas zu essen und dann noch etwas essen zu gehen (das ist ja der Sinn eines Ipoh-Besuchs).

Ich hatte eine enttäuschende Erfahrung mit dem Shuttlebus. Das Personal sagte, wir müssten 20 Minuten auf den Bus warten. Wir warteten also 45 Minuten, kamen aber trotzdem nicht an und erhielten keine Rückmeldung vom Personal. Schließlich mussten wir selbst einen Grab-Bus nehmen, um unser Auto zu holen. Als wir am Parkplatz ankamen, etwa 300 Meter bzw. 3 Minuten vom Haupthotel entfernt, war das Gebäude verschlossen. Das war wirklich merkwürdig und ärgerlich, weil uns das Personal (Rezeptionist) sagte, der Bus tanke nur in der Nähe. Also mussten wir noch etwa 30 Minuten warten, bis jemand oder ein Mitarbeiter die Schranke öffnete, um unser Auto herauszufahren. Wir riefen die Hauptnummer (05-2082888) an, um Hilfe zu bekommen, aber anscheinend legte das Personal einfach auf, als wir versuchten zu erklären, was passiert war. Schließlich schafften wir es, die Schranke durch den engen Raum zu passieren und kamen unverletzt heraus. Was für eine schlechte Erfahrung! Vielen Dank an Cititel Express Ipoh für den großartigen Kundenservice. Da ich weder ein VIP noch ein VVIP bin, erwarte ich keine angemessene Lösung und Kommunikation. Außerdem glaube ich nicht, dass das Hotel dieses Feedback ernst nimmt und seinen Service verbessert, da sie mich trotz der versprochenen Kontaktaufnahme bisher nicht kontaktiert haben.

cozy was proving many types of rooms which would suit what we needed. At first I booked the circuit type room beside the pool, which I found not suitable for us because my age and I brought my little daughter together. Cozy managed to change the room type immediately for me, which I feel so warm and sweet. What I can say is that the circuit types are only suitable for younger couples.

Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆ The apartment's biggest advantage is its excellent location. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, convenience stores, and shopping options within walking distance, making it very convenient for families and larger groups. The host was responsive and replied promptly when we raised issues during our stay. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and maintenance of the property fell well below our expectations. We encountered ants throughout the apartment—including the living room, sofa, dining area, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms—which made it difficult to enjoy our stay. Although the host provided insect spray after we reported the issue, the infestation was so widespread that spraying the entire apartment was neither practical nor a comfortable solution. Several areas were dusty, the curtains had a noticeable layer of dust, and the bedsheets and toilet rolls appeared old. We were also charged RM60 for an extra bedsheet for two nights, but the condition of the bedding did not justify the additional fee. The sofa showed signs of wear, and one of the ceiling fans was noisy during operation. For larger groups, please note that when someone showers upstairs, the downstairs bathroom cannot be used properly due to water pressure issues. We were informed that this affects every unit in the building, suggesting it is a known issue rather than an isolated incident. The facilities were also disappointing. The jacuzzi was unavailable during our stay and appeared to be non-functional, making it more decorative than usable. The host initially agreed to compensate us for the cleaning fee due to the cleanliness issues, but we did not receive any further update after that. Overall, the apartment has great potential because of its strategic location, but significant improvements in cleanliness, pest control, maintenance, and facility upkeep are needed before I could recommend it to others. Pros Excellent location with many restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby. Responsive communication from the host. Cons Widespread ant infestation throughout the apartment. Dusty environment, including dusty curtains. Old bedsheets, worn furniture, and additional bedding charges that did not reflect the quality provided. Noisy ceiling fan. Water pressure issue prevents simultaneous use of upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. Jacuzzi was not usable, just a decoration. Compensation for the cleaning issue was promised but never followed up.
