We were very happy to book again when our flight got postponed. Friendly staff but very slow service. Lovely amenities and clean facilities

The food was nice and distant from the airport was a good thing as our flight arrived a little after midnight. The staff were very hospitable and courteous.

Wir sind im Rahmen einer Flugannulierung für zwei Tage in dem Hotel untergekommen. Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Flughafens und zentrumsnah zu Stone Town. Die Zimmer sind in die Jahre gekommen, die Matratze war unbequem, die Dusche hatte einen zerfetzten Duschvorhang und die Abflüsse rochen muffig. Die Mitarbeiter schienen alle sehr unmotiviert, insbesondere die im Service, bis auf wenige Ausnahmen. Glücklicherweise konnten wir Mohammed von der Bar kennenlernen, der einer der wenigen war, der verstand, was Service und Freundlichkeit bedeutet. Er war der einzige Lichtblick bei unserem Aufenthalt. Im Zimmer hat unsere Klospülung ständig kapituliert, sodass wir den Mangel beheben lassen mussten. Die Bettwäsche roch sehr muffig, was sehr unangenehm war. Es war uns nicht möglich, die Getränke auf die Zimmernummer buchen zu lassen, sodass wir für jedes Wasser die Kreditkarte zücken mussten und direkt bezahlen mussten. Alles andere wurde von Seiten des Hotels abgelehnt. Beim Essen wollte man uns kein zweites Getränk reichen, mit dem Hinweis, dass das Getränk nicht inkludiert sei. Jedes zweite Getränk beim Essen war ein Kampf, trotz unserer Zusicherung, dass wir es ja bezahlen würden. Das Essen im Rahmen des Menüs war gut, das Büffet hat nicht geschmeckt. Der Käse beim Frühstück wird nicht gekühlt und ist dementsprechend gegen halb zehn komplett verlaufen, angeschwitzt und hat wesentliche Farbveränderungen. Wurst gibt es nicht. Das Omlette könnten wir jedoch empfehlen. Der Strand war öffentlich und sehr schmutzig, ebenso wie das Meer vor Ort. Der Pool war so trüb und schien als totale Keimschleuder, sodass wir ihn bewusst nicht benutzt haben. Wir wollten außerdem vor Ort einen Ausflug nach Stone Town machen und hatten einen Festpreis für 20 Dollar vereinbart. Als wir zurückgekehrt sind wusste niemand mehr etwas davon an der Rezeption und man hat 50 Dollar verlangt. Alles eine absolute Frechheit, insbesondere, weil der Service des Fahrdienstes direkt durch das Hotel erbracht wird. In dem Hotel ist es darüber hinaus extrem langweilig, weil man gefühlt kaum Gäste gibt, rund herum nichts ist und Stone Town zu Fuß zu weit entfernt ist. Alles in allem waren wir einfach froh, lediglich ein Bett zu haben. Da hört es aber leider auch schon auf.

Hotel liegt etwas  außerhalb  von Stone Town und ist daher sehr ruhig. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber auch in den anderen Bereichen wurde immer geputzt. Das Hotel ist mit vielen liebevollen Details ausgestattet. Gefehlt haben uns in den Zimmer  nur die Bademäntel. Man bekam immer eine Flasche Wasser ( 500

Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal Aber das Hotel ist sehr kitschig. Architektur eher schlecht gemacht Zimmer nicht sehr angenehm Schlechtes Frühstück im Vergleich zum Zimmerpreis. Schwimmbad nicht angenehm Der Strand ist leer und dreckig (man riecht die Exkremente). Ich bereue es, in dieses Hotel gekommen zu sein, es hat meinen Aufenthalt in Stone Town ruiniert

Stunning hotel, well maintained gardens and plants, amazing food especially the dinner buffet, very comfortable and clean rooms, and most importantly, friendliest and genuine staff. A special mention to Mr. Christopher from the café shop and Ms. Happy from the buffet restaurant, excellent stars who stood out among all amazing staff. Thank you for your hospitality! Will definitely return.

My stay at this luxurious hotel was a perfect start to my Zanzibari holiday. Reserving an executive suite proceeded without any hiccups. Shortly after that, I got in touch with the hotel enquiring about an eary check-in. A gentleman on the other end of the line (Sebastian) accepted my request and organized to have me promptly picked up from the airport. The drive to the hotel was just as smooth. I was greeted by warm smiles at reception and Happy processed my check-in without much ado. I supposed meeting Happy at the reception was some sort of a happy, lucky charm; the rest of my stay was nothing short of amazing. Issa helped me to my suite, explained all the features of the room and gave me a tour of the hotel. My suite was roomy, light and well-furnished. The icing on the cake is however the direct view of the hotel’s well-tended garden, the clean pool, the bright blue ocean and, of course, the sunrises and sunsets - all just from the comfort of the balcony. The decor and overall architecture gave me feeling of living in one of the “1,001 Nights” stories. Being a foodie, I immediately enquired about breakfast and lunch. The buffets were impressive. One enjoys the good, international company of fellow guests and a wide variety of local and international delicacies. This is where I met Sayed Aly, a charming member of the hospital management/administration. We chatted over a number of meals during my stay and in about for different languages (Swahili, English, German and Russian). I got the impression that he enjoys meeting the hotel’s guests and learning about the countries of origin plus their travel preferences. The pool is big and clean. There are more than enough sunbeds by the pool. The garden around the pool seems well-tended. One needn’t worry about finding spots to chill or unwind. If not by the poolside, then walk down to the beach and you’ll find more sunbeds. For nature lovers, have a walk along the beach during low tide - there a number of mangrove trees right infront of the hotel! My overall experience has been more than pleasant. Outstanding personell and members of staff! PS: Check out their well-equipped fitness center to burn off the extra few holiday calories. Looking forward to my next stay at Madinal A Bahr Business and Spa Hotel!

Upon arrival at airport the driver guide was there with a comfortable Aircondition vehicle. The Hotel is extremely admirable... Rooms very comfortable with all the important needs one need. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and beautiful swimming pool. Really had a wonderful time at Madinat Al Bahar.... Wish to come back on holidays and stay more... Madinat hotel is heaven on earth. This is one of the best hotels I have been to - amazing staff specifically Ali, Michael, Margaret, general manager and the Food manager. Clean and luxurious. The food is very impressive - overall great, luxury stay with great staff…

The hotel was a pleasant surprise, from the unique architecture, the colourful interior design, and many corners to work or unwind. The hotel is very clean; the open areas, the swimming pool, conference rooms as well as in the rooms. It also has amazing views of the ocean & the sunsets, I personally couldn't get enough of them. I am thankful to the support of the managers at the front office, guest relations and banquet, they were all very helpful with our many & last minute requests. They wouldn't have done this without the support of the staff, asanteni sana! I highly recommend the hotel

Again, for the fourth year in a raw, we spent a wonderful one-month vacation (my wife and I) in this beautiful hotel. Syed Ali the relation manager was all over the place, he ensured that our booking is arranged with all facilities to our likings as he knows very well what we exactly wanted and liked. The new general manager had transformed the place to even better and better than what was before. The staff at the restaurant and patio are exceptional. Keep up the good work. Hope to be there again next year.
