Das Eltern-Kind-Schwimmbad ist nicht geöffnet und ich weiß nicht warum. Das Schwimmbad ist mit einer maximalen Tiefe von 1,69 etwas tief. Zum Glück können unsere Kinder schwimmen, sonst machen wir uns vielleicht ein wenig Sorgen. Das Hotel wird auch verschiedene Spielzeuge für den Pool zum Spielen haben, sodass Sie nicht rausgehen müssen, um sie zu kaufen, was großartig ist. Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Flughafens und es kann zu Lärmbelästigungen kommen. Außerdem ist das Hotelbadewasser salzig. Ich habe vergessen, es zu erwähnen, aber im Großen und Ganzen bin ich damit zufrieden.

Geeignet für Familienausflüge, das Schwimmbad ist voller Kinder und es gibt spezielle Wasser-Yoga-Kurse.

Wir waren eine Woche hier und haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt. Frühstück große Auswahl. Abendbuffet sehr abwechslungsreich und für jeden etwas dabei. Personal zuvorkommend. Zimmer geräumig und schöner Balkon. Es gibt einen Only Adults Pool, dort werden auch die Getränke direkt an die Liege serviert. Der Strand hat uns leider nicht gefallen aber wir hatten ein Mietauto und haben tolle Buchten entdeckt. Wir würden wieder kommen, da uns die Insel und das Hotel sehr gut gefallen hat.

Ich/wir waren eher enttäuscht von unserer Woche im Marelen Hotel. Für ein 4 Sterne Hotel kann man in Sachen Service und essen mehr erwarten. Der Service/Personal war zwar bemüht und freundlich aber in vielen Hinsichten unprofessionel. Zum Beispiel rauchend über die Anlage laufen oder beim Tisch abräumen alles (inkl essen und Besteck) aufeinander stapeln wie man es in einer Kantine erwarten kann. Niemand war dort auf 4 Sterne geschult! Niemand! Das Essen war wirklich nicht gut. Das Salatbüffet teilweise braun geworden und die Hauptspeisen deutlich ohne Liebe gekocht. Sehr viel billiges Convinience Food und totgekochtes Gemüse. Es war größtenteils „pampig“ Das Frühstück war wirklich in Ordnung! Unser Zimmer war sauber und in guter Verfassung, allerdings war die komplette Hotelanlage ziemlich veraltet. Teilweise gab es Leute die schon früh angefangen haben am Pool zu trinken was allem noch etwas „Ballermann Flair“ dazu gab. Insgesamt stimmt das Preis/Leistungsverhältniss überhaupt nicht. Es müsste viel gemacht werden um den Preis der verlangt wird gerecht zu werden.

Absolutely incredible! What a friendly place. We arrived as a girls group and the welcome was just incredible. Met with a please at lad who took our cases on arrival. We checked in at reception which was smooth. We then got taken to our rooms with help. Our room wasn't what we expected housing 3 adults however this was soon sorted with extra payment to upgrade to a suite. The food was good overall but the breakfast was just belting,so much choice. The aircraft noise is not an issue and is amazing to see to be honest. It's not the hotels fault that they are located on a flight path. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the hairdryer,it would take a week to dry your hair again no messing when I called reception,we had a proper hairdryer in minutes. We had a leak in the room ,we were moved which was an inconvenience but again not their fault these things happen. When I told them about the leak we were evacuated in minutes ! The staff ! OMG ,the friendliest bunch ever apart from the odd few which I just didn't entertain. I won't name them ,but maybe they are in the wrong job . It is a shame to say the least that a few try to let this down because the rest of them just made our holiday. Special shout outs to : Stavros and Antreas ! Top lads The cleaner Suzanna, such a lovely lady. Reception girls, especially my American friend who always seemed to be there when I needed something. I can't wait to return to this hotel.

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at the Marelen Hotel as a group of friends in our early 40's. The staff are all amazing and so happy to help you - from the hardworking restaurant staff, reception team to the people who look after the grounds. Everyone had a smile for you. Our luggage was taken to our room for us and would have been collected from our room in the last day, if we had requested it, but we managed ourselves. The rooms were really nice with plenty of storage and hangers and good air con. The only issue we had was that the hairdryer in the bathroom wasnt really good enough to dry my hair but we mentioned it to the ladies on reception and they gave us a proper hairdryer straight away. The maids changed the towels daily, which was great and I think the bedding was done every other day. Our maid was the loveliest lady, I think she was called Suzanna and always said hello when we passed her around the hotel. The restaurant was amazing with plenty of choice and themed food night - obviously Greek night was my favourite. At breakfast you can have fresh omelette made for you, just take him what you want in it. The Greek yoghurt was delicious, not like in the UK. The restaurant staff are so friendly and are always on hand to help. A special mention for Stavros and Antreas who worked so hard to clear the tables, they always had a smile for everyone that came to the restaurant. Great work guys! The team at the pool bar were great and we had some amazing lunches served to us. We ate there every day. You have to try the passion fruit daiquiris! I have seen another review where they complained about the airport. Not really the fault of the hotel that the planes fly over. We actually loved the planes going over, it was never an issue and we even went to the end of the road to watch them come in. If you have kids they would absolutely love this as they go right over your head. I think the planes stop around 11pm and start again just after 6am they never woke me up. 5 min stroll to the beach, the sea was lovely and warm early Oct and it's quite shallow for quite a way out. I would have loved to have seen a turtle but no such luck as I think we had missed them all. I would love to come and stay at the Marelen Hotel again, such a friendly, hardworking team. This hotel has its good points and some bad points that make it average and not 4 star. My views are based on a Superior Room rating. Good points. Location, friendly staff, a good buffet style breakfast with freshly cooked options available. Robes are available in the room along with a safe and a kettle. Good free wifi. Kalamaki itself is a small town that is a short walk away with plenty of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and tourist shops. The beach is about a five minute stroll away. However, there are a number of improvements that could be put in place to improve its rating. 1. Even though the hotel is only three stories high there should be a lift available to carry heavy luggage up and down from your room. 2. Not all the rooms look like ones shown on the website. The bedroom area was fine but the bathroom was dated and was very small. The tiles at the foot of the shower tray did not slope back into the tray, for draining purposes, meaning that a pool of water laid on them all through our stay. 3. The fridge had seen better days with a small pool of water permanently laying on the bottom shelf. 4. Why do hotels, only offer bath towel not much bigger that hand towels. This is not the only one but a 4 star hotel should offer bigger towels. 5. Housekeeping was poor. We try and assist by requesting housekeeping every other day. On one occasion they took dirty towels away but did not leave any clean ones. They did not top up the coffee and tea options in the room at all. The taps in the bathroom looked as if they had never been cleaned and the tiles mentioned in point number 2 should have been dried off by housekeeping. Most 4 star hotels put a free bottle of drinking water in your room every day. 6. Only a minor point this one but why not put a small washing line on the wall on the balcony. Most balconies had towels drying on the front like a block of flats drying their laundry. 7. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, but why only offer orange juice. Most hotels would offer an alternative like apple or tomato juice. On a general point of view. Smoking is not allowed in any of the rooms, but is ok on the balconies. This can be a nuisance if you don't smoke twofold. One you cannot sit on your own balcony without having to smell of someones cigarettes smoke, and secondly, in a hot climate you cannot have your balcony door open for too long before the smoke smell enters your room. ( This is not a rant about this hotel, but a general observation regarding some parts of Europe ) These are just my observations in general. There were a number of people who go to the Marelen every year so they must be more than happy with the facilities offered but for me I would not return.

Currently here and we are back for our third visit to this lovely hotel. Accommodation,staff and location are perfect with a big shout out to housekeeping who have done a fantastic job every day. Great breakfast with plenty of choice which is complimented with the friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel if you want a great stay on the beautiful island of Zakynthos.

leaving my review far too late... thought I had pressed post and I had not, we visited marelen not this summer but summer of 23, it was amazing honestly do not hesitate, we are planning our return for next year after a turbulent year this year it hasn't been possible to come back this time as expected The marelen and surrounding areas are to die for, the food is brilliant and we're a family not so much really fussy but dietary requirements are needed as mum is diabetic and my daughter is sensory with food she's also autistic so the fact she felt so at ease here she cried when we left is really something The staff make this place a true gem stone so helpful and friendly nothing was ever too much trouble, the eden bar was a true vibe we loved it there Ignore any bad reviews cause this place is worth it's weight in gold we stayed in 412 and 419...we are hoping for ground floor next year due to accessibility but we only had one flight of steps so it's not a big deal, The kids splash was awesome even I joined in, the adult pool always clean and so refreshing, the rooms absolutely immaculate and beds really comfortable we cannot wait to come back for a total mind and body reset

Rating: Accommodation at Marelen Hotel Zakynthos was superb. The room was clean, cleaned daily by nice maids. The staff, who enjoy their work, were of the highest standard, cheerful and friendly and not unnecessarily affected. Breakfast and dinner buffets very tasty and varied daily. We enjoyed the sea and the hotel pool about twice. The sea had a gradual entrance, we always found (twice ) a place by the pool. The biggest highlight of the holiday... TRIPS by car around the island. Driven west coast, east coast, south and north. About 80 kilometers on foot (great for a vacation), with a rented car after subtracting the kilometers +/- 500. Visited the nearby island of Lefkada Island. ...that can't be done in one day. (That's why so little beach and pool) Overall rating: +

My daughter came to this little gem of a hotel last year, and loved it so much we all decided to come this year together as a family. I fell in love with this hotel. It’s beautiful. Location is perfect as it’s two minutes to the lovely beach and ten to the main strip which I also fell in love with. The food the friendliness of all the restaurants was something I had never experienced on holiday before. Our room was lovely we were 314 on the first floor. Our maid was amazing ( all the staff our) I had some problems with my air con ( my fault as I kept pushing wrong buttons on the control) and both times a maintenance man was sent to fix straight away. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had on holiday. The hotel itself is stunning, good choice of pools, a snack bar / restaurant that runs all day. We used the little shop over the road which stock everything. We are out every night, we would start by having a drink at the bar on the hotel, where the barman was friendly and felt like our friend. We would also finish our night there with a drink. I loved the planes!! Noise is not an issue you get used to it after the second one, plus they don’t fly early or at night. We had s day out at the water park ( that was great) all staff amazing from the great reception team to the maids, honestly the best! I have been home a month now and I still think about this hotel now. I cannot wait to come back and like my daughter brought us this time I now will bring my mum etc with us. See you again soon!l

Such a pleasant stay. Away from the masses, so close to the beach is this laidback hotel with amazing staff. The food is excellent, the buffet has many options and differs every night. The a la carte food at the restaurant next to the pool is freshly made and delicious. The staff works extra hard (from 13-14 hours a day) to help you in every way. The cleaning is spot on, in regards to the roomcleaning aswell as the poolcleaning every day. Staff is very friendly. Hotel is close to the main street of Kalamaki but it is way more crowded in the streets. This hotel has it all, easy access to the nearby turtle beach aswell as close enough to undertake everything you want. We will definitely come back. Our son had a blast and so did we.
