Americas Best Value Inn Phillipsburg

Stay away from this hotel. Absolutely disgusting. Floors are dirty, hair on the floor in bathroom, walls are dirty and colored on, toilet paper roll holder was about to fall off the wall. Both my husband and I had something bite our legs multiple times during the night (I was still awake when it did but couldn’t see what it was) We left all of our luggage in the car except for 1 bag that we put on top of the table and made sure it was zipped up so no bed bugs could get in (not sure if there were any but just in case) walls are so thin I could hear a girl screaming for HOURS and it didn’t stop until about 1am. The hotel is supposedly under renovation and looks awful. The only few good things to this hotel is that it’s a good location, 2 minutes to target and 5 to Chick-fil-A. There is a fridge and microwave in the room and a big tv with lots of channels. I paid $149 for the night and they charged a $100 deposit which they did return. I paid $165 for a Hampton inn the following night that was a million times better and had zero complaints. This hotel is really only worth about $50 a night tops.

This is NOT Americas best, nor is it a value! The pictures shown do NOT represent the actual condition of this place! If I weren't so tired from driving, I would have taken the loss and driven on. We actually went to the Lowes down the street, bought Lysol, and sprayed the crap out of everything in the room! I do believe that a Motel 6 would have been at least cleaner than this place.

I looked for the cheapest pet friendly hotel in the area. It's an old building, that doesn't bother me. Some of the guests are on the poorer side but so am I, they were genuinely friendly and I'm not worried about my stuff in my car. The two staff I met were both genuinely nice. The room is quirky as heck, in mine the shower is in the bedroom instead of the bathroom but I just joked on Twitter about how it's perfect for when all you want is to take a shower and fall into bed. Everything works. It's clean. No smells in room that I can detect except a tiny bit of dust-burning-off smell when I kicked on the heater, a wall unit, and *that's just how these things work*. I don't know what some of these really negative reviewers were expecting, it's the cheapest rental in the area but they're delivering on what you should expect in that light. And I just want to add a second time that both of the staff I met were REALLY friendly and the comments about them in some of the reviews are just mean. The gentlemen, possibly "the son" in the family that owns it, was very well spoken an thorough on explaining their policies. It's a motel, in spirit if not technically (you don't park at your door). I *like* motels. The only complaint I have is out of their control - the road layout in this area is an epic nightmare, especially if you've been driving all day. Get in before the IHOP next door closes.

DO NOT STAY HERE. I stayed here with my 2 month old baby and this hotel was just dirty and unclean. i was exclusively breast feeding at the time and would pump milk and store it in the fridge. The first room we got, the fridge was broken. Once again, i needed a fridge to store my breast milk. So i told the receptionist in which they gave me another room. Fridge was working. No problem. I pumped, stored my breast milk overnight and went to sleep. I wake up in the morning, open the fridge to feed my baby and the fridge was broken. I started crying. My baby had no milk to drink because the milk spoiled. And he was screaming out of hunger. I lost over 30 oz of milk!!!! When i told the receptionist he was extremely rude, no empathy whatsoever & said it sounded like i wanted a free night. I was so disgusted at this comment. My baby was with me & he had no empathy! Why would i want a free night? I would take a free night at a 5 star, luxury hotel not here. It smelled like straight ***** and cigarettes. I only stayed here because at the time, there was a problem where i was staying and wasnt from the area. He said he’ll give me 10$ to buy organic milk and why dont i just breastfed my baby. Like what is it your business why i pump? NOT EVEN A TUB OF FORMULA COSTS 10$. DO NOT GO HERE. And im calling the department of health on this place. It’s disgusting its still up and running

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! CRACKHOUSE ALERT! My family stopped here and was there 15 minutes and once we realized how bad it was we asked for a refund and they refused. If I could give negative stars I would. When we went in the room it was disgusting and the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional.
