Skyline Cabins

We had a wonderful stay here. The cabin was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. The deck in front was a great place to relax. The owners were very helpful in recommending place to eat. All in all a welcome place to stay after a long day's drive. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute, well maintained cabin with a little deck in a great location for exploring the Highlands National park and Cabot trail. The cabin was clean, with parking right outside. Linens were all good quality. The deck was lovely to sit out and eat dinner (try Andrews pizza down the road for takeaway!) but need lots of insect spray! Lovely restaurant across the road so super handy. All round good couple of nights, would return!

My wife and two children (4 and 8 years) spent one night at Skyline Cabins. Checkin was super easy and the owner (Jo-Jo) was very nice and welcoming. She provided us with a few restaurant recommendations. We ended up dining at the "Coastal Restaurant" and were very satisfied with our meals (seafood) and micro brewery beer options. It was about a 10-15 minute drive. We spent the night in Cabin #4. Parking is very convenient with your vehicle only steps away from your door. Right away I noticed the nice attached and covered deck to the cabin for people that like to sit outside during the summer days/evenings rain or shine. Inside, the cabin was clean with a seating area, table with four chairs and a basic kitchenette. The bedroom was a decent size with a double bed, night stand and a dresser with a mirror. The was washroom was also spacious. Overall the room was very clean with the odd insect (fly or spider) but that's expected considering the location. The property itself is nicely maintained and there is plenty of space for kids to run around or throw a ball. Overall I would recommend this location if travelling along the Cabot Trail but no more then two nights as there is very little to do other then attending a near by beach.

Super clean, very convenient. We had a cottage there for two nights , it was by far the most enjoyable of our stays. They are close to Freshwater Lake, Ingonish Beach, restaurant, and gas station, those are all in walking distance. The front desk so friendly and attentive, she gave us really good suggestions about Hiking trails and restaurants. Perfect location and place to enjoy the Cape Breton National Park.

Overall a pleasant experience. Room was clean and comfortable. Location is close to the entrance to the National Park Only negative was that the internet was unstable and the TV wouldn't even work. This is apparently a problem in much of rural NS, nevertheless bothersome.

Stayed there in a cabin for a few nights to hike in the Capre Breton hills. Nice, good size cabin with a parking spot, clean and comfortable, conveniently laocated close to a restaurant and a liquor store. Service very prompt and efficient. Highly recommended

Very clean cabin at very convenient location. It’s just right by the Cabot Trail entrance. There are beaches and trails nearby, a pretty good restaurant across street, Scotia Bank, liquor store, convenient store, and ice cream shop in walking distance. What surprised me most is the cleanliness. Definitely recommend it

The cabins were clean and staff very helpful but they advertised. As housekeeping cabins there were no cups or cutlery in cabin only 2 very small coffee cup witch would overflow when you used the coffee maker as well as no bathmat for the tub. And no utensils for the BBQ

Thanks to positive reviews, we chose to stay here as our first night on the Cabot Trail, heading counter-clockwise. We were very pleased, room was clean and comfy, and had a decent sized fridge with freezer compartment compared to many other hotels. It was a nice change from the big chain hotels we had been staying at during our trip up to this point. We had a queen room, which was actually half of a cabin and had a few stairs to climb to access the room, but was not a problem for us. Too bad we didn't get to use the nice looking grill across from our cabin. The restaurant right across the street was great, thanks to our hosts recommentation. The hosts were super friendly and offered some great tips for sightseeing, including the Freshwater Lookout Trail, right across from the park entrance which is just down the road and up a ton of steps. Also recommended White Point, which was not at all on our radar, but turned out to be one of our favorite hikes. Great place to stay, location great for Franey Trail and Middle Head Trail also.
