Nun, das Hotel hatte einen schlechten Start, als wir um 22.50 Uhr auf einer Shearings-Reise ankamen und niemand da war, um mit dem Gepäck zu helfen. Also nur 1 Aufzug für 35 Personen und langes Warten ohne Getränke. Im Großen und Ganzen war das Personal großartig, freundlich, hilfsbereit und lächelnd und das Essen (Frühstück und Abendessen) war sehr gut. Das Hotel hat eine ausgezeichnete Lage, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Leider wurden nach einem sehr heftigen Gewitter und sintflutartigen Regenfällen mehrere Räume überschwemmt, darunter auch einer meiner Gruppe. Das Personal war hilfreich bei der Bereitstellung eines weiteren Zimmers und beim Umzug der beteiligten Personen. Man hat das Gefühl, dass das Hotel unterbesetzt ist, aber man gibt sich große Mühe, den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Wenn Ihr Zimmer keinen Haartrockner hat, können Sie diesen an der Rezeption erhalten

Es ist ein schönes Hotel und überwiegend freundliches Personal. Es gab nur ein Mädchen im Speisesaal, das nicht viel lächelte. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und hatte ein schönes großes Eckbad. Das Frühstück war gut und es gab eine große Auswahl und Mahlzeiten am Abend Waren sehr gut. Getränke waren zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Es liegt im Zentrum von Valkenberg und ganz in der Nähe von allem und neben dem Fluss. Wenn ich jemals wieder nach Valkenberg komme, würde ich dieses Hotel wieder wählen.

Location great. Hotel staff friendly. Basic room we had was small and bathroom dangerous as step to get in shower and shower door not able to fully open as toilet roll dispenser in way. Had to place a towel on step to get out without slipping. Not much room to put anything good job only 3 night stay. Bed downright uncomfortable, as kept sliding to side, nearly fell on floor so put pillows on floor just in case. Breakfast ok full continental. Scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon and sausages swopped kinds each day. Evening meal a choice of fish or meat. Not to our liking so made sure lunch out was got. Drinks on evening were in package for 3 hours but limited brands.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location. We visited as part of a Parry’s coach holiday. The hotel exceeded our expectations it was modern, elegant and clean. We stayed half board and the food was lovely, always 2 choices for dinner. I am a vegetarian which was well catered for. Our room was all that we needed, modern, clean and functional. The bathroom had a walk in shower. There is tea and coffee provided. We brought milk from the supermarket located adjacent to the hotel. The bar is beautiful and drinks are well priced. Overall fantastic stay and we will be returning in the future.

Bit dated rooms, small beds, no closet, nightstand size a joke, found it well overpriced. Generally for the tourist who can live out of his suitcase, have to place your toiletries on the window board, space below mirror useless as it’s tilted towards the sink so everything starts sliding, rooms are not too well isolated…

This hotel is very well situated for visitors to the town, especially during Christmas week when I visited, I was one of a coach party and the Christmas market is a stones throw away. I must also mention that there is Christmas market in the Caves as well, really worth a visit and only a short walk away. The caves are worth a visit at any time of the year. The hotel reception area, bar, restaurant and food are really very nice. English speaking very pleasant and helpful staff. Now as for my room. It was tiny even for a solo traveller - example: If you want to stand in front of the bathroom mirror to comb and dry your hair, be prepared to bang your elbows , our rooms (I spoke to several other passengers) were old and very tired looking, although clean enough. Beds, I've had better.

Hotel well located, 5mins walk to town centre. Room was basic but spotless, tv and coffee in room. We were half board as with a coach party and the food was lovely although only 2 main course choices available. Christmas market was on the doorstep. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful x

This was the second time at The Walram…we went Pre flood in 2017 as part of a Parrys coach trip. We had an enormous room then and reasonably good food….this time we had a poor very small BASIC room though it was front facing. We knew the hotel had be given a facelift and the public areas were smart and inviting. The food however was much improved. Lovely breakfast spread and the evening meals were served to us. Drinks were on the pricey side and water was €4.50 a flagon on a 2 for 1 system we never worked out ! The evening entertainment was naff and too loud and some guests were very noisy in corridors upstairs..but it was Christmas. Valkenburg is a lovely little town with a wealth of fine buildings and plenty of smart shops but in December is spoiled by the tacky Christmas Market in front of the Walram.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. Lovely hotel and great location. Parking nearby. Very handy for the Xmas markets and also the cave markets. lots of things to do in the lovely part of the NL. Great breakfast and plent of it! Highly recommend.
