I recently stayed at the Samosir Cottage on Samosir Island from November 29 to December 1, 2024. The room was spacious, a significant plus. However, the toilet area required attention, with ants present, as mentioned in previous reviews. While this was acceptable for me, it's an area for improvement. What truly impressed me was the exceptional service from the receptionist. They clearly explained options and kindly upgraded us to a bigger room. Their helpfulness and professionalism made a significant difference in our stay. We booked two deluxe rooms, but the first room had a smoke smell, prompting us to request a change or upgrade. Overall, while there's room for improvement in bathroom maintenance and mattress covers, the Samosir Cottage's spacious rooms and excellent service make it a solid choice for those visiting Samosir Island. Location is good, surrounding with local restaurants and mini mart for basic necessity. Swimming pools located at the back, facing the lake. Depends on the room located, mostly needs to go down or up, therefore it's not suitable for people has limitation to climb the stairs. Rooms is also basic, Breakfast is basic local food.

Very disappointed. Book 3 deluxe rooms with view but ended up get 3 rooms without view and very noisy at night . Shower with extremely 'Hot Water " and no cold water at all force to use bidet to shower. Breakfast choice not bad, good location. Photos attached was the view from room door.

Very nice place with a great breakfast and coffee/tea. Friendly staff. Got a good view from my deluxe. Prime location in the TukTuk peninsula.

Tempat sangat bagus dan sangat sesuai untuk family holiday saya selalu berkunjung ke tempat ini kalau ke samosir Lake Toba

The room was very standard and dirty, ants everywhere. Breakfast was horrendous, it ended at 10am but if you go there at 8:30am fruits, porridge and desserts already gone , food was horrible, , bathroom stinks like stinky beans🤮 the shower rail was super low and can’t be adjusted, the water pressure was super slow( imagine the toilet hose was stronger than the shower) and the tap isn’t even installed properly( the water run down outside the sink) makes the floor wet every time you use it. The receptionist was rude and not friendly at all. Very very disappointed and will never go back.

Stayed here for a night. There were souvenirs and shopping places near this hotel within walking distance. But we could not enjoy it due to the rain. The food is typically continental and not bad. Just the breakfast time was too crowded and not easy to get a place to sit. I believe they have limited staff as it takes time for them to clear the table once the earlier customer leaves. Dinner food was okay and the price was also reasonable. The room is just nice. Not so cosy but the mattress was comfortable and the water pressure in the room was good. The AC and heater were all working well.
