Ich habe eine hervorragende Erfahrung mit Soma Palmshore am Kovalam-Bereich. Mit der Familie genossen wir das vollste. Es war wirklich wunderschön. Wir nahmen das Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Package. Die Behandlungen waren wirklich professionell. Sehr erfahrene Ärzte und Therapeuten. Sie waren sehr freundlich. Besonders nach den Behandlungen lieferten sie eine schöne Erfrischung. Und das Essen in ihrem Restaurant war wirklich schmeckt und die Qualität der Früchte war extrem gut. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr hilfreich und dienen mit guten Lächeln. Der Arzt im Restaurant wurde bemerkt, den Gästen zu Ratschlägen zu geben, was zu essen nach den Behandlungen. Es ist eine große Zufriedenheit über die Behandlungen gemacht. Das Zimmer war wirklich schön und teuer. Die Qualität der Zubehör war ausgezeichnet und es war über unseren Erwartungen hinaus. Das Zimmer war voll mit Blick auf das Meer und ich bemerkte, dass alle Zimmer mit Balkon gut mit Blick auf das Meer versehen sind. Der Pool war sehr sauber und geräumig. Auch der Strand war sehr sauber und privat. Sie haben ihren eigenen Lebensschutz, um die Gäste zu unterstützen. Und die Lage ist ausgezeichnet und ich empfehle Ihren Aufenthalt und Behandlungen in Soma Palmshore.

Ich hatte meinen ersten Aufenthalt in Indien und habe mich mit meinem Vater für dieses Hotel entschieden, weil es kein vergleichbares Hotel gab, welches außerdem noch eine Pancha-Karma-Kur angeboten hat. Das Hotel und die Anlage sind absolut schön und mir fällt kaum etwas ein, was *** noch verbessern könnte. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und kümmert sich sehr gut um die Gäste und geht auch auf die Wünsche der Gäste ein. Das Essen war sehr gut und reichhaltig. Die Ayurveda Behandlungen waren auch super. In einer Pancha-Karma-Kur bekommt ***, wenn gewollt, eine entsprechende Ayurveda-Diät der Ärztin. Wir hatten eine sehr engagierte und sehr bemühte Ayurveda Ärztin. Schade war, dass die Umsetzung im Club Bereich teilweise falsch erfolgte. Manchmal wurde mir das Essen meines Vaters gereicht und andersrum, teilweise mussten wir auch etwas länger auf unser Essen warten. Außerdem wurde 2 Mal nur ein Teil gebracht, von dem was wir bekommen sollten und 1 Mal wurde etwas ganz falsches gebracht. Dies kann natürlich dazu führen, dass der gewünschte Erfolg der Kur ausbleibt. Daher empfehle ich, immer nochmal auf den Plan zu schauen und zu kontrollieren, ob das richtige Essen gereicht wurde. Sofern das Essen nicht dem eigenen Geschmack entspricht, kann *** in Absprache mit dem Ayurveda Arzt auch Veränderungen des Essen Plans vornehmen. Ein großes Lob möchte ich an dieser Stelle an den Yoga-Lehrer aussprechen. Er gestaltet den Unterricht so, dass er auf die Leiden des Einzelnen eingeht, die Übungen zunächst sehr einfach gehalten sind und auch Anfänger gut teilnehmen können. Ich habe innerhalb der 2 Wochen einen riesen Mehrwert dadurch gehabt und habe eine sehr gute Weiterentwicklung meiner bisherigen Kenntnisse erlebt.

I made a reservation for the KKM international Hotel through by booking com from 17 July to 27 July The price given by Booking com for 10 days total price 31650 INR and on my arrival at that hotel I was charged 15000 INR its mean almost half of my total payment i pay. Again after 5 days i pay 15000 INR so total i pay 30000 INR. 26 evening i going to pay my last payment reception agent tell me i have to pay 6900 INR balance so total i pay 36900 INR My laundry Bill Is 900INR mini bar we eat one nuts packet and one chips packet and one chocolate that's around 1000 INR so my question is how come it become 36900??? Its not finish 27 morning 8am i going to give my room key before i departure reception agent tell i need wait i need pay again 500INR i don't want ask any questions to him i pay again 500INR so total i pay 37400INR so they changed me extra 3850INR guys be careful this hotel. Your payment. The positive point Restaurant staff very friendly. But need more training. Housekeeping staff good. Staying at the Gateway Varkala was an amazing experience from the friendly staff to the authentic decor and the amazing views of the Arabian Sea. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Every guest was treated specially by the staff from Reggie the concierge to Ashwathy at reception, Sudeep head of security and Dhamesh the general manager. I have stayed at the Taj cove green in Kovellum which is beautiful also but the staff here at the gateway really make it feel like home away from home. A special thanks to the staff and chef in restaurant who were so polite and efficient, producing so many wonderful local dishes.

GGastnutzerI had a wonderful stay at Grand Residency Resort Hotel in Varkala. The hotel manager was exceptional—always helpful and went out of his way to ensure a great experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was a highlight, with a fantastic selection of delicious options. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Varkala!

We had a stay for 2 nights in the hotel in Dec'24. Overall, we felt that there were small things that were either not taken care of or were an inconvenience for us maybe due to luck that made our stay not that amazing. 1. Noisy room—The room we were given was so close to the main road that until late, one could hear vehicular and other noises, causing disturbances to sleep. The room also overlooked the reception area since the middle part of the floor was hollow. This caused more noise to reach the room from guests checking out. 2. Housekeeping issues - The room was not cleaned by Housekeeping despite firm instructions given by us while stepping out. 3. TV - While watching TV was not the main goal of the stay, dealing with a horrible TV with an even more horrible remote is the last thing you need when trying to relax after a tiring day out. It would be unfair if we only called out the problems without mentioning the Good part about the property - 1. Well-behaved staff 2. Proximity to the beach and cliff road 3. Good food We think that the property has good potential to be among the 1st choice for visitors to Varkala if they can focus more on some of the above-mentioned points

NNatalie LI’ll start by saying that we only booked this guesthouse as it was pretty much the only one available for our dates in Varkala that seemed well located and wasn’t a hostel in a dorm room (we are a married couple in our 30s and are passed the days of sleeping in a dorm bunk bed!). BIG MISTAKE! Following 7 weeks of travel in India and staying in almost 20 different guesthouses and homestays, this was by far the worst! One of the most expensive out of all the properties we stayed in and by far the worst in terms of facilities, value for money and management. Where to begin… 1. Frequent power cuts on our first day turning the lights and AC off in the room 2. We stayed in two rooms (one AC and one fan). Almost none of the plug sockets worked in either room with the exception of one 3. The shower was practically pointless and the water came out in a tiny trickle in both rooms. Not very practical for showering. We used the bucket for showering (which we have done many times in India, but not expected here considering it cost 2-3x more than other properties we stayed at in India). It’s also a wet room (common in India), but no mop/brush to push all the excess water into the drain (we had this in majority of our other guesthouses) so you’re walking into a soaking wet bathroom every time you enter 4. The rooms didn’t feel 100% clean - we were walking on sand before we even went to the beach and even felt sand in the bed! 5. Speaking of the bed, this was rock hard and super uncomfortable 6. We shared our AC room with 4/5 geckos each night. We are ok with nature and insects so this wasn’t a huge deal for us but just FYI incase you are not. There are vents in the room that allow insects in easily, despite them having some sort of sellotape over them to try and prevent this 7. There was construction work happening (either the property itself or next door). When in the AC room we were woken up quite early each morning with loud banging and drilling practically outside our window. The workmen also left their tools on our balcony 8. We were interested in doing the cooking class offered but were told that this was not available because the owner Suresh was too busy at his other property in Varkala (it’s called Gypsy Walker so will assume is also poor quality). Just as well, wouldn’t have wanted to have given another penny to this property! 9. The property requests that shoes are taken off before entry and left on the designated shoe rack. Respectful of the property’s policies and Indian culture we did just that. On the last day, one of our pairs of shoes was stolen from the rack. We know this happened that day as they were there late morning when we went out but not the evening when we returned to get them. When we informed Suresh of the issue, he was incredibly rude, shouting abuse at us down the phone and accused us of lying to get compensation out of him - incredibly insulting to say the least. We were told that no one has access to the property

GGastnutzerThe front desk staff member I encountered was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. When I inquired about why the extra bed provided during this stay did not come with a bed frame as it had during my previous stay just five nights ago, his response was dismissive and unhelpful. He said, ”You should ask the housekeeping, not me.” via telephone. If this is the standard of hospitality your hotel upholds, I see no reason to return. Furthermore, the subsequent explanation provided by the same staff member was equally unacceptable. He stated, ”We said extra bed, not frame,” and informed me that the extra bed would be placed on the floor. This was only communicated after we had settled into our room, not at check-in. It appears that your hotel has a limited number of bed frames for extra beds and had run out, despite my booking being made a month in advance. This situation could have been handled much more professionally. If the lack of bed frames had been communicated at check-in with a simple, ”We apologise, but we have run out of bed frames,” it would have been understandable. However, the rude attitude and lack of basic courtesy from your front desk staff are inexcusable. Proper communication and a respectful demeanour are fundamental in the hospitality industry, and this experience has left me extremely disappointed.

The fragrant smell was too strong.
I booked hotel for few hours stay although I paid for a day. The main purpose was to take rest and have some sleep before my long flight
Unfortunately I couldn't get sleep because of an ongoing renovation work and disturbed my sleep.
Although the receptionist agreed to stop the work but it was too late. Rest all is OK.
Just check whether they are doing renovation work before you book

GGastnutzerLa bienvenida no fue ageadable. Mientras nos entregaban la habitacion nos invitaron a tomar algo en el restaurante del hotel, preguntamos si se podia fumar y nos dijeron que no habia problema. Otro huesped ingles sentado en la otra punta del restaurante se levantó y se quejó de muy malas ***eras del tabaco. Vino una señora rubia (no india) y nos pidió que saliéramos fuera, después descubrimos que era la dueña pero jamas se presentó, nos nos dio la bienvenida, nunca dijo ni buenos dias y nunca se interesó por como fue la estancia. Las habitaciones son mini villas bonitas y limpias pero el colchon es tan duro que prefieres dormir en el suelo. La comida del restaurante es buena, el servicio del restaurante cuando no estan con el movil son simpáticos. Esta cerca del cliff pero los caminos para llegar son muy estrechos y llenos de barro. No tienen iluminación por lo que tienes que usar la linterna de tu móvil. El espacio en general de las villas es bonito pero le falta ***tenimiento. Hay muchas opciones de alojamiento en el cliff mas economicas que creo que pueden ser mejor opcion.

FFritzThe location is great, right next to the train station and you can't really go wrong for the given price, but it's really hot and sweaty. The bathroom is very dirty and feels like it would give you foot fungus and in general it's not clean. You basically get what yoh pay for.
