I recently stayed at the Sun Beach Hotel in Agia Triada with my husband and our 5-year-old daughter, and our experience was quite mixed. Rooms and Amenities: The hotel is housed in an old building, and it shows in the condition of the rooms and furniture. The room we stayed in had outdated and worn-out furniture, including a very old and dusty carpet. The curtains were also dusty, which is unacceptable for a hotel. The balcony was concerning as the fence moved with every touch, making it feel unsafe. There was no kettle in the room, which I found to be an inconvenience. A small fridge was provided in the room, tucked inside a piece of furniture. While it was handy to have, the fridge was quite noisy, and the constant hum made it difficult to sleep properly. One particularly unsettling aspect of our room was the door in the middle that connected to the adjacent room. It seemed to offer little soundproofing, as we could clearly hear the conversations of the people next door. This was especially unnerving at night, and it made us feel less secure and disturbed our sleep. The beds were okay, with one separate bed and two twin beds, and the mattresses were decent. However, the central air conditioning system was not functioning properly, causing issues in the hallway and at the reception area. Key Card and Door Issues: When we arrived, the key card for our room didn’t work, so we were given a regular key instead. Unfortunately, the door was extremely difficult to open, even showing marks from previous struggles to push it open. This added unnecessary frustration to our stay and made entering our room a hassle. Cleanliness and Hygiene: The hotel operates a policy of changing towels only upon request, which is environmentally friendly and reduces excessive detergent use, so I appreciated that aspect. However, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was disappointing. The pool was overcrowded, and it was clear that hygiene standards were not being enforced. I observed people with visible fungal infections on their nails being allowed into the pool, which was quite disturbing. Despite the pool area looking nice at first glance, this lack of care for hygiene was a major drawback. Service: The service at the reception was another low point of my stay. We had express check-in, but the staff did not respect the check-in hours of 14:00, nor did they honor the express check-in service. The receptionists were rude and unhelpful, which left a bad impression right at the start of my stay. Breakfast: The breakfast was decent, with a buffet offering a variety of options that could cater to most tastes. However, a significant inconvenience was the lack of ingredient labels on the buffet items. This was particularly problematic for my daughter, who has dietary restrictions. It made navigating the buffet more challenging, and I would strongly recommend the hotel address this issue for the sake of guests with food allergies or special dietary needs. Bathroom: The

Das Hotel Avalon in Thermi, nur an die zehn Minuten vom Aerodromos Thessaloniki entfernt, ist eine kleine Insel der Geborgenheit und Eleganz. Versteckt zwischen Gartenmauern und Rosensträuchern wartet ein vornehmes Gebäude auf den Besucher, versehen mit über hundert Zimmern, einem idyllischen Pool und einer Restaurant-Terrasse, die Stil hat und die an Bequemlichkeit und Gepflegtheit alles übertrifft. Auch das Service und das Speisenangebot sind vorzüglich; die Zimmer selbst sind sehr angenehm, mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet, sogar mit einem Hauch von Luxus, der auch über dem ganzen Hotelareal liegt. Wenn rund um den Pool eine Feier stattfindet, verwandelt sich alles in ein weißes Fest an Schönheit und Erlesenheit.

As long-term and frequent travelers to Thessaloniki, we found ourselves unexpectedly at the Mediterranean Palace through a snafu in reservations at another hotel in Thessaloniki. Dismayed at the unplanned change, we decided to make the best of our remaining trip. The mix-up, however, proved serendipitous. MP exceeded all expectations by far. From this point forward it will be our hotel of choice, a designation well -earned through superlative service by all staff, the finest culinary offerings, Martha-Stewart-topping holiday decorations and events, and choice location adjoining the famous Ladadika historical district of eateries. This is a full-service, five-star hotel (with bath-tubs) that won’t disappoint. We used the spa and restaurant regularly and were delighted even with the last available room in the hotel that offered us a lovely desk and sitting area, with a full bath and quiet location at the end of a corridor. But more than the typical descriptions from brochures and websites, the staff earned our deepest appreciation for their constant assistance. With our visual and mobility challenges, added to our tough “business” schedule, each of the staff looked out for us and helped make our trip a resounding success. Their attention to detail, unfailing cheerfulness and politeness impressed us as no other facility across the globe. In particular, we would like to thank the General Hotel and Customer Relations Managers. Not to be omitted are Ms. Katerina of the housekeeping staff; of the waitstaff, Mr. Giannis, Mr. Tassos, Ms. Despoina, and Ms. Georgia, among others who made our stay so memorable. We strongly urge travelers to book their stays at this hotel!

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Fenster zum Innenhof gebucht. Auf den Bildern wirkte es größer, als in echt. Ich würde es nicht nochmal zu zweit mit Gepäck für 2 Wochen buchen, da man sich nicht gleichzeitig im Raum bewegen kann. Es gibt quasi keinen Stauraum, die Koffer standen immer im Weg. Auch Lüften erwies sich als schwierig, da das Fenster dann komplett über dem Bett hing. Insgesamt gab es nur zwei Steckdosen im gesamten Zimmer, im Bad gar keine. Die Dusche ist mit Vorhang ausgestattet, dadurch hatten wir eine kleinere Überschwemmung im Bad und Schwierigkeiten unsere Handtücher trocken zu bekommen. Kleinere Mängel gibt es überall: Vorhang müsste gekürzt werden, Spiegel platzte ab, aber generell in Ordnung. Das Frühstück bietet eine schöne Auswahl inkl. viel Obst. Das Personal ist überall sehr freundlich. Entgegen der angegebenen und gebuchten täglichen Reinigung fand diese nur alle zwei Tage statt, darauf wurden wir allerdings direkt beim Check-In hingewiesen. Die Lage ist sehr gut: Man ist in ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß bereits am Ufer.

Obwohl das Hotel etwas abgelegen ist, ist es leicht zu finden. Es gibt Geschäfte, eine Apotheke und einen Supermarkt in 8 Gehminuten Entfernung, um alle Bedürfnisse kleiner Kinder zu erfüllen. Das Hotelpersonal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Schwimmbad ist sehr gut. Wir waren schon vor sechs Jahren in diesem Hotel, daher war es schön, hierher zurückzukehren. Der einzige Nachteil, das Frühstück hatte keine so gute Auswahl an frischem Obst oder Joghurt. Obwohl ich griechischen Joghurt liebe. Auf der Rückseite des Hotels in der Nähe unseres Zimmers hatte das Personal große zerbrochene Möbel oder Teppiche vor dem Flurfenster abgeladen. Außerdem öffneten der Swimmingpool und der Bereich um 10 Uhr morgens, aber mit dem Aufräumen der Betten und dem Schneiden wurde erst um 10 Uhr begonnen. Ansonsten ist das Hotel ausgezeichnet und sollte von jedem genutzt werden, der hier vorbeikommt.

This is rather old hotel.The room and facilities are not modern .The furniture is used.The balcony door in my room (number 425)was broken and could not be closed.From the street you could hear the traffic even at night.The facilities in the mini-gym were broken and only the treadmill was working.The breakfast was simple but fairly good with local ingredients and fresh squeezed orange juice was a little bonus.The staff at breakfast room was polite.The 9th floor restaurant was nice and had nice view.There was a small swimming pool .The lobby of the hotel and general areas were well kept.

Wir blieben nur eine Nacht, um am nächsten Morgen ein Flugzeug zu fangen. Das Personal war hilfreich. Sie halfen uns, eine leckere Abendessenslieferung zu bestellen, da es nicht anscheinend Restaurants in leichter Reichweite zu haben, es sei denn Sie haben ein Auto oder rufen Sie ein Taxi. Die Lage war sehr gut für den Flughafen, und die Aussicht auf unseren Balkon war angenehmen Landschaft. Sie bieten uns kostenfreie Transport zum Flughafen. Da wir früh am Morgen verließen, konnte ich nicht auf ihr Frühstück kommentieren. Aber es gibt Türkische Freude auf dem Country als Behandlung für Kunden.

Zum Abschluss unserer Griechenlandrundreise war ein Wochenende ein Thessaloniki vorgesehen, unglücklicherweise haben wir hierbei dieses Hotel gewählt. Das Hotel war mit zwei Hochzeiten stark ausgebucht, in dieser Situation ist dem Hotel der einzelne Gast offensichtlich schlichtweg egal. Trotz vorheriger telefonischer Nachfrage war die beworbene Skybar auf Grund der Hochzeiten geschlossen, diese war der Entscheidungsgrund für dieses Hotel. An der Rezeption redete man sich dann damit heraus, dass der Auszubildende hier wohl eine falsche Aussage getätigt hätte.... Unser Zimmer war nicht gut gereinigt, der Sessel mit weißen Flecken bedeckt, die Toilette voller Urinspritzer (es war ein Fehler die UV-Taschenlampe mitzunehmen…… ). Nach einer Reklamation wurde das Zimmer zwar gereinigt und der Sessel ausgetauscht, dies sollte in einem Hotel dieser Kategorie jedoch nicht erst auf Nachfrage des Gastes geschehen. Im Zimmer war ein starker Kanalisationsgeruch festzustellen, dies ist auch in anderen Bewertungen bereis angeführt. Das Dampfbad im Spa sollte besser gereinigt werden (siehe Fotos). Ein Metallstab ragte am Kopfende des Bettes aus der Steckdose neben dem Bett: lebensgefährlich! (siehe Foto) Das Management wurde über die Mängel informiert, leider kann das Beschwerde- Management nur als sehr verbesserungsbedürftig bezeichnet werden. Ist das Hotel stark gebucht so zählt der einzelne Kunde nichts. Die zweite Nacht haben wir umgehend storniert und eine wesentlich bessere Alternative gefunden.

Pros: - Occupies prime waterfront real estate in Thessaloniki. Steps from the beautiful walking and biking path that extends for miles. Minutes from the best shops and restaurants. - In-room temperature control maximizes comfort. - Adjustable shower head with outstanding water pressure. - Desk facing the window enhanced work experience. - Excellent price-value equation. Cons: - Noise travels horizontally (thin walls) and vertically (hard floors). - A large ferry building across the street obscures some sea views, which may only be worth it on the upper floors (5th and 6th). Plus, the busy street below compounds the aforementioned noise issues. The hotel provides earplugs in the room. - Thin sheets could be accompanied by a comforter. - No fitness center. Overall, it's a very good choice in Thessaloniki and central to everything.
