We recently stayed at the HGI for a week while my sister had surgery in Tampa. We were regular Hilton patrons, but recently starting shifting allegiance to the Marriott line because over customer service was lacking at the Hilton establishments. I might have to reconsider this move because the staff at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ybor City was AMAZING. I must commend the manager, Carlos, and his team for their kindness and consideration throughout our stay, in particular Sheila in housekeeping and Shekira at breakfast. In addition to Carlos, Sheila and Shekira, Kayla and Amari helped us out as needed. I really can't say enough about their care, concern and friendliness throughout our stay. The hotel is aging, but was clean and spacious. The fitness room was spotless. The hotel is scheduled for an update sometime in 2025. Location is great if you want to stay north of Tampa proper, and Ybor City is a nice location. All sorts of history and great restaurants. Nice place to walk around. The free range roosters and chickens are fun to watch. Don't worry - you can't hear them crowing inside the hotel! You will have to pay for parking at this location - $25/day - to the city. It's not a Hilton Garden thing. However, the service was so outstanding that I would happily pay for parking to stay at this location again.

We stayed Friday night before our cruise. We took a Lyft from airport, and arrived during rush hour. Many people were checking in, for one night before their cruise. The ladies working the front desk were super friendly and helpful, told us everything we needed to know. They put us on the list for the shuttle to the cruise port for the next AM. The room was very nice, and the bed was WONDERUL! My daughter and I agreed. AC worked well in the room. We walked a block to a restaurant for dinner. We went down for the included breakfast the next AM. It had everything you could want. The ladies working it were so very nice. Then we took the shuttle to the port. The driver was very friendly and we arrived in plenty of time. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Dann hatten wir einige Leute, die ihre Motorräder in der Nähe laufen und rufen an das Front Desk, um Bericht/Anfrage von Polizeihilfe wurden mit Unglauben getroffen, da ich ihnen nicht genau sagen konnte, wo die Motorräder waren - ich sagte ihr, sie zu gehen und sie würde es hören .... Das Hotel selbst ist charmant, sauber und schön dekoriert, andere Mitarbeiter waren schrecklich, so vielleicht war das nur eine ”off” Nacht ....

The staff at Le Meridian could not have been better or nicer! They were incredibly friendly and helpful….a big shout out to LaLithia at the front desk who was awesome and helped us upon check-in. The glass of complimentary sparkling wine upon check-in is a nice touch. The complimentary coffee in the lobby from 6 am until noon is also a nice and appreciated touch. Our room was very spacious and very clean. I am giving my review a 4 start vs 5 star because of the room decor and, quite frankly, the hotel (hallway decor) as well. Whoever was in charge of interior design should be fired! Our room was incredibly depressing because EVERY wall except the entry hall was painted a DARK gray. The carpet (new at least) was also a DARK gray. The bathroom was ….guess what….a DARK gray. Because the hotel is a converted old court house, the ceilings are high and made of cement so there is no recessed lighting (understandable). BUT, there wasn’t even a floor lamp in our room. It was SO DARK and DEPRESSING. Needless to say, we felt we were living in a CAVE. When you stay at an upscale hotel for a getaway or mini vacation, you expect to feel happy and uplifted. The decor did just the opposite. In addition, our room was lacking ANY seating area other than the bed and a desk chair (at bar height to match the bar height desk). It was CLEARLY MISSING a couple of comfortable occasional chairs. We called the front desk as soon as we walked into our room and requested a couple of chairs. They brought us 2 stacking chairs. I guess it was the best they could do under the circumstances but they certainly weren’t comfortable chairs that one would want to relax in. Also, the TV was very small given the size of the room and the distance from the bed to the TV. As for my reference to the hotel decor, and specifically the hallways, Marriott fell so far short in making this hotel what it COULD be given its unique history and architecture. When you walk down the hallways the bottom half of the walls have old marble (a nice touch and vestigial feature of the court house) BUT the top half of every wall is BARE. It is just COLD and lacks ANY sign of nice decor. Why wouldn’t they line these hallways with old, framed photos of court houses, court rooms, judges, etc???? Or old photos of Tampa? Or have a local artist paint murals on these walls? Ironically, the hotel gives its guests free passes to the Tampa Art Museum but whoever designed the interior space didn’t bother to include ANY artwork in the hallways. And the “artwork” in our room consisted of a few ugly, random cheaply framed posters. You might think that I am overly critical….after all, as I said, the staff was lovely and responsive and our room was spacious, quiet and clean. BUT, because our room was just so DARK and DREARY and DEPRESSING we wanted to minimize the time we spent at this hotel.

Das Hotel ist ok, das Innenraum ist wenig auf der billigen Seite (Wände mit hellem Gemälde gemalt). Es gibt kein Restaurant, aber es gibt einen kleinen Shop, um Yoghurt, Getreide, Getränke, instant Noodles und Energiebars zu kaufen. Das Zimmer verfügt über einen Kühlschrank und eine Mikrowelle, auch einen grundlegenden Kaffeemaschine. Es gibt auch keinen Waschservice, aber es gibt einen Waschmaschine im Hotel (2. Stock) um Sie eigene Wasch- und Trocknung - viel günstiger auf diese Weise, denke ich! Die tägliche Reinigung war ein bisschen scharf, an der Ankunft gab es jemandens Restpizza in der Mikrowelle, am ersten Tag wurden die Betten nicht gemacht, am zweiten Tag waren die Staubspins nicht leer, und so weiter.. Alles in allem, wenn Sie mit den oben genannten aufbauen können, sie bleiben war angenehm, gute Lage mit großer Parkplätze.

This hotel has not been renovated in years and it does not have double pane glass windows. The rooms that face the street sound like you are sleeping on the highway. I asked to move and the hotel is full; I get that... but there is no way a hotel should be selling rooms that are this noisy. They have a little white noise machine that does nothing to block the noise of sirens and yahoos racing down the street. Avoid unless you can get a courtyard facing room. Also...I'm in a room with two queen beds and one of them was clearly not changed after the last guest was here. See photo... The front desk woman Anita was super nice, but one of the men working the front could not have cared less when I mentioned that the noise was unacceptable.

Für unsere 3 Nächte in Tampa waren wir super zentral im Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown untergebracht. Das Hotel mit seinen 17 Stockwerken und 230 Zimmern liegt direkt im Stadtzentrum gegenüber der im Jahr 1915 erbauten City Hall. Die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Innenstadt wie die Amalie Arena, das Sparkman Wharf Viertel, das Aquarium, der Riverwalk, das Convention Center oder das One Tampa City Center sind alle innerhalb von 10-20 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Hotel hat einen schönen Außenpool mit Terrasse, ein Fitnesscenter, eine Bar und ein Restaurant. Jeden Morgen ist ein sehr gutes kontinentales Frühstück inbegriffen. Leider bietet das Hotel - wie so oft in den USA - nur Valet Parking an, das 33 USD pro 24 Stunden kostet.

Das ist eine gute Umgebung.
