Holbrook Manor & Spa - Oceana Collection

We stayed in a garden room for a family wedding, and having read some reviews before we went, we were a bit concerned. However when we arrived we were greeted and taken to our room by a very friendly member of staff. Our room was clean, and we even had a little kitchenette which we hadn’t expected. Although we only stayed two days our room was serviced, and we had clean sheets and towels provided on day two. The garden rooms do need modernising, but having said that, we think that this is reflected in the room pricing. The hotel cafe is very nice, we sat and chatted with family for as long as we liked and the staff were very good. We didn’t use the spa facilities. Our only slight criticism would be that the breakfast was rather chaotic, we had to ask for bread, and butter, and the only place to plug the two (!) slice toaster in was in a socket which meant that the toaster sat on the floor. Having said that, the staff more than made up for this as they were all clearly doing their best and couldn’t do enough for us. Thanks for a lovely two days.

We held our work party here with around 50 attendees and it was fantastic. We had an issue with some guests wanting to sit in different places to the table plan, and the venue took this in their stride and managed to get the right food to the right places completely seamlessly. It was brilliant and the food was excellent. The rooms are huge and really lovely. Absolutely fantastic service from Beth both beforehand and on the night. We will definitely return!

A small group of us booked a table in the Garden Cafe for lunch on 29th July which was pleasant enough, not cheap but priced about right for such a lovely setting. Payment for the meal for myself and my wife was total nightmare. The card machine in the cafe was not working, my offer of cash was refused and I was directed to a reception desk where I had to wait for more than a quarter hour for them to re-boot their system. After a couple of minutes I said I'd sit with my group whilst they were sorting out their payment system, but they insisted I stayed there. Payment made, I sat with my friends when it occurred to me that I'd been over charged. £9 + £14.50 + £2.50 + £3.50 = £29.50 whereas they'd taken £32. I went back to the counter to check the total and was shown a computer screen total of £32, told it was correct, and slightly stunned returned to wait for the food. After eating I returned to the counter to ask again to check the bill. The counter girl showed me the screen again and called in her supervisor. Neither of them were able to add up these four numbers to check, but the supervisor pulled out her phone to add up my items to find out I had been over charged by entering the £2.50 item twice. They said they were unable to refund me before I left, but would do this within a fortnight. That didn't happen, so I sent a reminder email. They replied asking for my account details so they could refund ASAP. I supplied these details and now, 10 days later still no refund. My advice to others is that the Holbrook Manor Garden Cafe is worth visiting but to carefully check your bill before payment as any correction afterwards is hopeless.

Beautiful countryside escape! My husband and I had our wedding at Holbrook last year (it was MAGICAL) and decided to come back for our 1st wedding anniversary. The venue is still gloriously beautiful, and the staff are simply the best, always willing to go above and beyond to make our stay (and previously our wedding day) perfect. Especially Beth, she has always ensured our experiences at Holbrook are amazing! We stayed in the Amelie Suite and very much loved the decor, especially the elegant 4 poster bed. The spa there adds another layer of relaxation, perfect to unwind. The new cafe also does some delicious cream teas, a must for a good countryside break! Would certainty recommend - 10/10, will return soon!

The photos don’t show how terrible the hotel really is. I tried my best to see if we could find somewhere else to stay - but nothing g available so ended up getting a takeaway and eating it in our room. Don’t BOOK THIS HOTEL! It is falling apart and the staff done seem to mind. Just awful!!!

I must start my feedback by stating that I am outraged by any negative feedback about this property. We recently visited for a family wedding and have nothing but praise and gratitude for the team at Holbrook Manor. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make sure the experience was special. A team that really love what they do and care. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and the facilities and grounds were remarkable. The whole day was flawless from start to finish. If I could get married again, I would choose Holbrook manor in a heart beat.

Really enjoyed my experience at Holbrook Manor! They definitely provide a sophisticated and welcoming backdrop for a joyous celebration! The staff were lovely and really attentive! The event was really well organised everything was perfect for the day.

We were at the same wedding as Moggie! Your reply was, at best a little rude, and with all those typos, far from the professional business you claim to run. Here are some facts for you to reply to. The taster menu the couple tried was a long time after they had had to ask guest for their meal choices. And that had not gone that greatly either, had it? The fish and chips on the Friday evening meal was very over cooked to the point of being inedible. Your venue was well aware of a guest in a wheelchair needing an accessible room, In fact giving the bride away. So when another gentleman that was booked in on Thursday arrived he should not have been put in that room. The white carpet for the ceremony was, at best filthy. After a bucket of flowers were tipped up once moved inside, you came in with blue roll to mop it up and then proceeded to wring it back out onto the floor The flower arch was around the wrong way when moved, by you, factsto the dinning room. The meal was not piping hot. I’m sure the happy couple were all grins when they left in the morning. They are very much in love, despite your venue not because of it.

The rooms are sparkling clean beds comfy and plenty of light plenty of things to enjoy ie spa gym and walking around the grounds stayed for 5 nights staff are professional polite and helpful housekeeping certainly no there stuff when it comes to cleaning the manor is beautiful if lovely chandliers perfect for a family get together light bits from the cafe and even games and outside tennis managment and owners should be proud of the team they have got and deserve a big pat on the back
