The only good thing about this hotel is the location. After several wonderful hotels, this hotel is the opposite of a crowning glory at the end of our trip. In short: a disaster, rip-off and not recommended. Throughout Zanzibar, people are incredibly friendly, but not at this hotel. When we checked in, we had to sign that the hotel disclaims any liability whatsoever. When we opened the room, the first thing we had in our hands was the door trap. The room is run down, old and not clean. The safe did not work, nor did the kettle. The coffee sticks were old and one lump and not usable. So we went to the restaurant to quench our thirst first. As soon as we sat down, a few millimeters next to us a coconut fell from the tree and almost hit us. There are no warning signs, only a bunch of broken umbrellas, which protect you from the falling coconuts. No one apologized. When we wanted to pay for our drinks, they wouldn't accept credit cards and insisted on cash, which we didn't have, with a lot of effort we were then able to get the drinks booked to the room. The breakfast is a disaster. The coffee a watery, tasteless broth. Filter coffee. How can that be Italian??? So we ordered an espresso at the bar, which we had to pay for separately. When you enter the restaurant, the staff hides behind the bar watching TV and hoping not to have to get up. At the hotel you can book tours and since we wanted to escape we considered booking one. You can pay for the tours with a card as well. The salesman suggested we go with us to an ATM and quoted the price. It seemed outrageously high and since we have been on the island for a while, we knew this was an attempt to rip us off. If you book the tours over the internet, e.g. getyourguide, you pay a fraction of what the hotel wanted.... We did not dare to leave our things in the hotel and dragged all valuables and passport and documents with us, as I said, the hotel assumes no liability and does not guarantee security Das einzig gute an dieser Absteige, ist die Lage. Niemand entschuldigte sic
