Hotel Berr is just an exceptional hotel in the heart of Old Town Sarajevo! I really enjoyed my stay here. Location couldn't be better - the hotel is a stone's throw from Pigeon Square (maybe 100 metres at most) and about a 10 minute walk to all of the main attractions in Sarajevo - City Hall, the various mosques scattered throughout the city and the main artery of Old Town (the pedestrian area). There are restaurants, shops, money exchange bureaus (watch out for those with high commission!), cafes and souvenir shops as far as the eye can see. There is no lack to choose from. There is also a medium sized supermarket on the corner across from Pigeon Square, open early and stays open quite late. The yellow fortress is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and the white fortress is approximately 20-30 minutes uphill on foot. Note that the white fortress is closed indefinitely for restoration but the views of the city from the top of the hill is well worth the walk! The hotel owns 3 buildings - the result of expansion and buy up of other hotels over the years. So your room will be in one of the building adjacent to the main reception areas or it will be in the primary building. This was not at all an issue, but just so guests are aware of it! Note also that there is no lift/elevator in any of the buildings and the stairwells are rather narrow. I travel with only a small backpack, so for me, it wasn't even a concern, but for guests with large/heavy luggage or with mobility issues, be aware that you will need to climb the narrow stairs. Some of the rooms are in an almost ”attic” which might be a problem for some guests. The room was spacious and very clean! Although I was in a single room, there were two twin beds in my room. I believe all rooms have the same setup, regardless of how many guests you are staying in the room. The room was equipped with a desk, a small coffee table, two chairs, a large cabinet to store your luggage and a little electric kettle for boiling water (though no tea or coffee were provided in the room, I would nab instant coffee packets from the breakfast buffet to use the next morning). There were two mugs, a glass water bottle and two glasses. There was no air conditioning in the room, but there was a small fan which was sufficient for my needs. There was a flatscreen tv also in the room with approximately 30 channels available. Mostly local channels, however I was able to find about 5 in English. Some rooms have a mini refrigerator, but mine did not. It would have been a nice perk, but I managed without. The bathroom was very large and ample towels were provided (2 hand towels, 2 massive fluffy bath towels and a bath/floor mat). The bathroom had a large dispenser of hand soap as well as a dispenser of ”shampoo” (it was exactly the same as the hand soap), but I used it on my hair and I didn't have any issues with residue. Presidential is an understatement for this superior, modern hotel in the heart of Sarajevo’s attractions, restaurants and pedestrian streets. Our Overseas Adventure Travel tour group was assigned to this hotel. The tour company could not have made a better selection. The room I occupied overlooked the river and the base of a mountain range. The room is beyond spectacular, especially considering less expensive rooms are generally assigned to tour groups. The bathroom features an entire glass wall with curtains to close for privacy. But why? Many of the rooms overlook a busy street and the river. Besides, who’d want to look at a 71-year-old geezer shaving?☺ Windows are insulated blocking cold and street noise. The room is spacious, clean, modern, and has all creature comforts. But beware of the minibar prices. There are small grocers nearby that sell wine for about 6 euros. Buffet breakfast was included for tour group members, so I don’t know if there’s a separate charge for other guests. The hotel staff are amazing and courteous. If only Orlando area hotels could learn from Hotel President Sarajevo.

Das Hotel lässt keinen Verkehr vor dem Hotel zu, daher ist die vom Hotel auf Ctrip angegebene Adresse die nächste Adresse, an der das Taxi halten kann. Tatsächlich wird das Taxi innerhalb des Blocks in die Altstadt gebracht, und an der Straße befindet sich ein gelbes Schild. Gegen Geld liegt das Hotel neben einer Kneipe und nördlich, und das Altstadthotel ist von der Höhe der vierstöckigen Fassade aus zu sehen. Im großen Schlafzimmer stehen zwei Einzelbetten zusammen, die Steppdecke besteht aus zwei Laken von Leuten, sprich mit der Rezeptionsdame Schwester Trinkgeld, sagte das Zimmer auf 1-2 Mark zu putzen, Frühstück ist einfach, man kann essen, nachts ruhig.

Stayed for three nights. Great location, spacious rooms with a super comfortable bed, a couch, good size movable TV (a bit limited by the short power cord though) and excellent storage possibilities/wardrobes. A small kitchenette equipped with two cooking plates, a fridge, coffee machine (which killed the power twice... got the machine replaced though) and a dishwasher (!). Clean bright bathroom with a shower. Decent breakfast buffet with a mix of the usual continental stuff as well as some local flavors. Fitness center and sauna (used it twice, worked very well indeed). Friendly multilingual staff. Would absolutely consider staying here again.

Almina, Nino und Haris sind das Herz und die Seele dieses Hotels. Die freundlichsten, am meisten auf der Erde Leute, die aus ihrem Weg gingen, um mir zu helfen, als ich in den frühen Morgenstunden mein Telefon in einem Taxi verließ. Sie verbrachten unzählige Stunden, um mir zu helfen, wenn sie keinen Grund hatten.Ich habe nie eine so erstaunliche Gastfreundschaft wie ich im Hotel Grand. Aber auch sehr bequem und geduldig mit einer schwierigen Situation. Das Hotel sollte ihnen eine Erhöhung geben, weil die selbstlosen Aktionen diese drei getan haben und aus ihrem Weg zu helfen den Gästen ist, was macht ein Hotel wert zu bleiben. Ich würde hier zurückkommen, wenn sie noch da sind. Amazing staff. Das Managementteam sollte sie belohnen. Es ist schwer, Arbeiter wie sie zu finden.

Das Zimmer von der Größe her war ok, auch das Bett war sehr schön gross. Der Rest war eine Katastrophe. Kaputte möbel im Zimmer, die Flure alt und in die Jahre gekommen, die vertäfelung in den Fluren kaputt, fenster kaputt. Der höhepunkt war das Frühstück und der Raum dazu. Ohne jegliches Sonnenlicht, gleich einem bunker sollten dort im normalfall 300 Menschen frühstücken. Das Personal alt, unfreundlich und nicht in der Lage englisch zu verstehen. In 3 Fällen mussten wir unsere zimmerkarte wechseln lassen, da der Magnetstreifen defekt war.

Das Hotel hat eine hervorragende Lage für Reisende mit dem eigenen Auto oder die mit dem Flieger angereist sind. Die Nähe zum Flughafen ist nur bei offenem Fenster zu hören. Für den Spa-Bereich sollte Mann oder Frau sich Zeit mitbringen, Sauna, römisches Bad uns Massagen laden zum verweilen ein.

Es war das zweite Mal, dass ich in diesem Hotel geblieben bin. Ich hatte das Eleganzzimmer reserviert. Sauber wie immer und sehr hilfsbereites Personal. Großes Frühstück und sehr unterschiedlich. Für mich ist dieses Hotel die beste Wahl für Qualität/Preis.
