3-Sterne-Hotels in Hakodate

The location is excellent. It is about 8 mins walk from the Hakodate station. It is also very near to many places of interest like Hakodate Morning Market, Mount Hakodate and Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse. The hotel staff may be polite but they are not service oriented and careless. We were asked to check-in using a machine which needs payment. I went through the process and noticed the machine asked to pay for the hotel rooms which I paid in Trip.com. Upon my feedback, the staff checked and came back to confirm payment has been made. Later the staff apologised. We stayed 2 nights and our room was not cleaned at all as their policy is to clean once in 2 days and it happened the 2 days are the days we stayed. We asked to replace our dirty hand and shower towel. They did but hang them in a plastic bag outside the room.

It’s just next to JR Hakodate station, bus terminus is just in front of the hotel and the city tram stop is within 5 mins walking distance. The morning fish market is just nearby across the road from JR Hakodate station. The buffet breakfast is good with a wide variety including frozen grapes, frozen berries etc. Also, the Hakodate Tourist Information Center is located within JR Hakodate Station. I made full use of my 2D 1N stay in Hakodate by purchasing the “Hakodate Special Ticket 2025”(はこだてスペシャルチケット2025) from the Tourist Information Center. The ticket includes ”Transportation Ticket” City Tram 1-Day Pass + ”12-Points Ticket” (1 point = ¥250) and covers admission fees to Goryokaku Tower, Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward and Mt. Hakodate Ropeway (two-way).

The lovely old gentleman serving as at night was one of the best front desk staff I’ve ever met. We originally planned to arrive at the property in the afternoon. However, our flight was cancelled and we had to seek alternative, delaying our arrival time until 23:00. When we arrive, we thought we will be self-checking in. But as we step inside the property from a heavy snow, we saw this kind gentleman waiting for us right at the door. He greeted us, helped us check in, and explained everything clearly. He offered us free flow free drinks and free ice cream (which was also very tasty) When we wanted to have some late night snacks bought from a convenient store, he also helped us reheat the food. 誠にありがとうございます！ Everything else was great as well! The room was comfortable, the breakfast was yummy, and it’s so nice to have a hot spring after out in the cold for the entire day.

Obwohl mir ein Zimmer an der Seite des Turms zugewiesen wurde, konnte ich ihn nicht sehen. Es war aber immer noch besser als ein Zimmer zur Straße hin, wo man den Straßenlärm hören konnte, also beschwerte ich mich nicht groß. Das Zimmer war etwas größer als das im Nachbarhotel und hatte einen Couchtisch. Die Vorhänge ließen sich scheinbar nicht ganz zuziehen. Es gab anscheinend ein großes öffentliches Bad im Gebäude, aber ich hatte keine Zeit, es zu besuchen. Das Frühstücksrestaurant lag unerklärlicherweise eine halbe Etage tiefer; um an das Essen zu kommen, musste man erst einige Stufen hinunter und dann wieder einige hinaufsteigen, um einen Platz zu finden. Das Frühstück sah zwar abwechslungsreich aus, schmeckte aber völlig unspektakulär. Das sogenannte Mapo Tofu war nur salzig und überhaupt nicht scharf. Obwohl es Ika-Sashimi gab, war es weich und zäh und wirkte nicht frisch.

Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet, ganz in der Nähe des Bahnhofs Hakodate und man kann den Bahnhof vom Zimmer aus sehen. Es liegt auch ganz in der Nähe des Hakodate-Morgenmarkts und die Straßenbahn hält direkt vor der Tür. Das Hotel bietet ein kostenloses Frühstück, aber ich war damit beschäftigt, zum Hakodate-Markt zu gehen, um Paella zu essen, also habe ich es nicht erlebt, haha ​​... Die Einstellung der Rezeption war sehr gut. Obwohl ich das Zimmer nicht früher betreten konnte, weil ich früh ankam, halfen sie beim Aufbewahren des Gepäcks und erledigten die Prozeduren. Danach konnte ich die Zimmerkarte direkt bekommen. Das Zimmer ähnelt einem gewöhnlichen japanischen Express-Hotel. Die Einrichtungen sind etwas alt, aber obwohl es klein und gut ausgestattet ist, reicht es aus. Auch die Sauberkeit der Zimmer ist relativ gut.

Not the closest from JR station, but just a straight walk for 10m around. So you get closer to local eatong area of 大門橫町! There are supermarkets, convince stores and tram station in a street walk. There is breakfast, many options of choices; self-service bar for soft, hot and cold drinks and snacks and even alcoholic items too; complimentary noodles at night time Washing machine, comic books, hot-spring spa, bike rental are all available. Also capsule or standard rooms as of your budgets. The staffs are kind and helpful, please keep your works, especially showing extra helps (foods and energy drinks) for runners on marathon race just same day.Thanks a lot🙏

The hotel is conveniently located, literally about 5 minutes from the station, which is great if you are travelling with luggage. The room had the basic essentials, and the area is surrounded by many restaurants. However, for the price, I expected more. The room for two people was extremely small: basically just a bed, a very narrow table with almost no usable space, one chair, and a fridge. The space under the bed for suitcases is a smart idea, but it does not really solve the problem, as there is simply nowhere comfortable to sit or spend time in the room. Another thing I found strange was that there was a Bible and The Book of Mormon in the room. At first, I thought previous guests had left them behind, so I went downstairs to ask, and was told that this was official hotel literature. I found this confusing and unnecessary. A charger was also provided, but it was not clearly marked as a hotel item, so at first I thought it had been left behind by another guest and that the room had not been cleaned properly. The hotel provides various disposable amenities, but surprisingly there were no toothbrushes. Overall, the experience was not great. The location is convenient, but the room size, check-in experience, and some strange details made the stay disappointing.

Cool little hotel hidden away in a corner of Hakodate. It's still walking distance from the station and other sights, the price is extremely affordable and they have snacks machines in the lobby. I got a very ”chilly” vibe from the lobby - the staff are just standing around in silence, no music, seems kind of dreary? They could do something to make the lobby area seem more pleasant and fun, but overall I was happy to get such a great deal, and I would stay there again.

Walking distance to all the attractions. Accessible by bus right from Hakodate station. Stayed in the annex building but had enough amenities for guests. Free self-laundry. Simple and tasty, nutritious breakfast. Would go back there again.

Ich habe es für meine Reise nach Hakodate genutzt! Der Parkplatz kostete nur 100 Yen pro Nutzung, das war super! Ich habe in einem Schlafsaal übernachtet, aber er war geräumig genug, hatte Schließfächer, Handtücher und sogar einen Fernseher – das ist typisch für Japan. Ein Supermarkt war auch nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt. Ich habe auch zwei Yakitori-Läden gefunden, die bis spät in die Nacht geöffnet waren! Als Nachteule fand ich es schade, dass das Bad nur bis 22 Uhr geöffnet war. Aber man kann ab 6 Uhr morgens baden gehen!
