I’m a bit disappointed as the hotel is well reviewed and I had a certain expectation. First of all, the door to my room was hard to close and made an alarm sound when it wasn’t completely closed. I had to slam the door in order to close it completely or it would pop open. My room had a lot of dust and when I turned on the air conditioner and fan, there was a lingering smoke smell. I kept sneezing due to poor indoor air quality and had to keep the windows open during my stay. In hindsight, I should have asked to change to a different room… I stayed for 5 nights and on the first day, I didn’t want to be bothered so I put the sign showing “Quiet” outside my door, but the cleaning lady knocked on my door anyway and told me not to put up the Quiet sign. I was confused. On the third day, I was napping and she knocked on the door and entered my room and I had to tell her I was napping and didn’t need the room cleaned at that time. I felt a bit scared of that cleaning lady… Other than those things, I enjoyed the location of the hotel, the proximity to shops, restaurants, historic sights. I enjoyed running on the treadmill and doing laundry was easy.

The Chinese breakfast with outdoor seating was a delightful touch. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished and very comfortable. The hotel sits in a quiet part of the island with beautiful views over the bay, where you can witness the magical bioluminescence phenomenon known as Blue Tears. Electric scooters are available to rent, making it easy to explore the island’s stunning scenery.
