Spending a night at Changdi Inn, nestled in the heart of the historic Hongkeng Tulou Cluster, was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my Xiamen trip. The inn is located within a centuries old Hakka earthen building, and the moment you step inside, you will be instantly transported back in time. The stay offers an immersive look into traditional Hakka culture and architecture, surrounded by thick earthen walls, wooden beams, and antique details that speak volumes of the past. What mak it extra special was meeting the friendly innkeeper, a 6th generation descendant of the family that built and preserved this Tulou. He shared stories and local insights making the whole experience even more meaningful. The room was simple yet clean and comfortable, blending rustic charm with basic modern comforts. I got to enjoy authentic Hakka meals, lovingly prepared and bursting with homestyle flavor, perfect after a day of exploring. Waking up in the peaceful village setting, watching the locals go about their daily lives, and hearing the birds chirping outside, it's a rare, soulful escape from the city.

A great escape from city life. Very relaxing environment with green and country side feel. Lunch and dinner is very delicious. A stroll to the tulou is not far away and you can enjoy the scenery throughout. Since this area is in a tulou scenic area, you will need to apply for a pass RMB 90 to get through security. Advisable to call the minsu and ask them for application procedure especially for foreigners. Age above 65 is free to enter . The only cons is that the mattress is too thin. Overall it is a very wonderful stay . Love this place..

More than a Stay - A Warm Family Welcome in the Heart of the Tulou! From the moment we arrived, we were treated not as tourists, but as guests of the family. The hosts – the Father, Mother, and their Son – are the soul of this place. They are incredibly friendly and go so far above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and special. The Son was our main point of contact and coordinated everything for us with great patience. He arranged our visit to the magnificent 振成楼 (Zhencheng Lou, the ”Prince of Tulou”), with Mother sharing fascinating stories about its history that you won't find in guidebooks. But where this family truly shines is in their genuine care. As overseas visitors, we were completely unfamiliar with local transportation and booking systems for our next destination. The Son sat down with us, helped us navigate the Chinese online systems, booked our train tickets, and gave us detailed instructions for the rest of our journey. He spent a significant amount of his own time to ensure we were set up for success, which was a gesture we will never forget. The homestay itself is a wonderful experience. The room was clean and comfortable. Decent simple home-cooked breakfast with the family was priceless. In summary: · Hospitality: Unmatched. This small hotel is located at the edge of the old town and within and is within easy walking distance of everywhere except the high-speed railway station. Lots and lots of shops and places selling all manner of food literally at the doorstep of the hotel. Shortly after checking in they thoughtfully sent me one document introducing some of the local delicacies and another one introducing the major attractions of the area, including the delightful mountain village of Dingwu Ling, that wasn't on my itinerary, but turned out to be the highlight of the entire trip. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout my short stay here.

Ich kam allein hierher und war so gefangen von dem Charme dieses Ortes, dass ich zwei Tage geblieben war. Ein Nachbar, der wie eine ältere Schwester für mich hier war, nahm mich zur Beobachtungsstelle. Jeder half mir und sie waren so nett. Ich hatte sehr Glück, am Chengqi Tower zu bleiben. Ich möchte meine Achtung für die Größe der Hakka-Bewohner zum Ausdruck bringen. Ich verlasse nachdem ich eine solche wertvolle Erfahrung und Emotion erhalten habe. Ich hoffe, dass alle hier mit Glück gesegnet werden. *Boss. Es wäre schön, einen Wandspiegel vor dem Tisch im Gästezimmer zu haben. Und es wäre besser, wenn die Handtücher etwas größere waren.🤭

Ich konnte nicht genug Fotos machen, die mit der Beschreibung übereinstimmen, das Zimmer ist auch sehr ruhig, das Bett ist auch sehr komfortabel und ich war ein paar Mal. Die Landschaft draußen ist auch nicht schlecht, es ist auch sehr bequem zu essen in der Nähe, es gibt eine Speisestraße

Einfaches, recht sauberes Zimmer im dritten Stock des alten Tulou. Zusätzlich zur Toilette war auch noch eine Dusche in der kleinen Nasszelle. Sehr nette Gastgeberin. Morgens und vor allem abends (zumindest beim meinem Besuch im September) sehr ruhig, tagsüber kommen viele Reisegruppen einschließlich Guides mit Megaphonen durch. Das Tulou liegt innerhalb des Sightseeinggeländes, man braucht also eine Eintrittskarte (50RMB) oder ein Kombiticket (zwei Tage gültig, 98RMB) mit dem Tuloudorf bei Hongkeng, das man mit dem öffentlichen Bus in ein paar Minuten erreichen kann. Nach/von Yongding fahren mehrere Busse (Linie 856) täglich. Es gibt auch Busse von/ab Xiamen und Longyan. Und das einzige Tor zum Tulou wird nachts irgendwann gegen 22 Uhr verschlossen. Stellt also sicher, dass ihr für alle Fälle eine Telefonnummer habt.

Es wird sehr empfohlen, dass die einzige Familie in den Bodenbauten mit einem unabhängigen Verteidiger ist, dass es ein echtes altes Bodengebäude ist. Es wird auch in den Bodengebäuden heißer Tag schüchtern. Sie können morgens hören, wie die Vögel aufstehen, und abends hören, wie das Wasser in den Boden fließt. Es ist sehr bequem in der Landschaft zu leben, und es kann auch mit den indigenen Volkshäusern der Landschaft gewöhnt werden. Der Chef hat auch Kochen gemacht, sehr praktisch, der Geschmack ist gut.

Aus Malaysia, sehr gut, das Zimmer ist sauber, das Bett ist sehr komfortabel, es gibt eine frühe Buchung mit einem Leiter. Die Schwester ist sehr gut, die Rückmeldung ist sehr schnell, die Paketzugang für die Tür und Tor organisieren, die Reiseleiterin für die Wang-Wasser-Schrank organisieren, die Prinz-Gebäude und die Landbau-Wang-Guide organisieren, die Paketzugang für den Anfang und nach Tsingzhou organisieren. Der Paketmeister ist sehr gut und das Auto ist stabil. Der berühmte Spaziergang zum Prinz-Gebäude ist sehr nah. Tickets für die ständige Zone können 24 Stunden verwendet werden. Das Frühstück im Prinz-Gebäude hat KFC. Everything was good until taxi service provided by accommodation. Driver was rude, making decisions where to go and when to go on his own against agreement with the hotel owner, non-communicative, escalated the conflict in the end and dropped me off far from railway station. Was supposed to drive me around for 4 hours, instead only 2.5, that including all the time wasted on disputes. As a result I didn't see what I wanted to see and both of us got angry. I paid him less, but I don't think he deserves money at all because of his attitude and the fact that I didn't get the service I wanted.
