LLynnMy stay at Samawa Living was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible sense of warmth and care from the staff. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel so safe and seen, which made the experience even more special. It truly felt like a home away from home.
I’d like to give a special thanks to Kadogo, Hashimu, Baby, Asha, and the rest of the amazing team who went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their genuine kindness and attentive service stood out in every interaction.
The location of the hotel was perfect – close to the iconic Paje Beach, with convenient access via buggy, so I could enjoy the beauty of the area while still retreating to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. The boho vibes of Samawa Living were stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a cosy and serene environment.
From the delicious meals to the immaculate rooms and tranquil ambience, everything about Samawa Living exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return! If you’re looking for a safe, stylish, and welcoming place to stay in the Paje area, I highly recommend it.

GGastnutzerThis is my second trip to Marea (previously under another name but with the same owners). I only want to talk about how much I like it if you all promise not to book in for the same weeks that I visit again. It’s quiet, which I love, but within walking distance of busier Paje. The rooms are clean, well-sized, have aircon, fans and cute balconies. Some of the rooms have just been redesigned, and I know there are more upgrades in the works. It has a wonderful Neapolitan restaurant, which is helpful because you don’t ever feel like you *need* to hunt for other food. It has a perfectly sized pool which never feels crowded, and not being in the centre of the resort, doesn’t come with lots of eyes gazing in your direction. Most of all, the staff are fantastic. They always have a smile and a kind word. Service is good and easy. It’s a great find for those looking for a boutique family run resort that also doesn’t break the bank.

JJacqueline KarikariIch bin ein einsamer Reisende und suche ein Hotel, wo ich nach meinen verrückten Treppen in ganz Zanzibar ausruhen kann. Das ganze Hotelteam war bei mir bei den kleinen Pflegekräften. Ich habe nichts verpasst. Das Zimmer war geräumig und wunderschön mit Pool und kleinem Garten. Das Gebiet ist sehr bewaldet, so dass Sie kleine, nette Tiere überqueren können. Noch einmal vielen Dank an das ganze Team des Hotels The Résidence für die gesamte Pflege, die ich an meinem Aufenthalt habe.

GGastnutzerDas Hotel war außergewöhnlich, es ist ein kleiner Traum im Paradies. Das Resort ist so entspannt, wenn Sie ankommen, fühlen Sie sich einfach ruhig. Das Personal ist so professionell und freundlich, immer bereit, Ihnen zu helfen. Die Zimmer sind exquisit mit schönem Dekor und der Schwimmbad ist nur das Eis auf dem Kuchen. Es ist nicht irgendwo auf der Insel können Sie diese Art von Zimmer mit diesem Stil von Resort und Service finden. Wenn Sie ein ruhiges Stück Paradies wollen, ist dieses Hotel für Sie. Entspannen Sie sich mit einem Buch über den Hammer, die Abendaktivitäten, Malerei oder Yoga, die frische Frucht am Frühstück, mit den Schildkröten schwimmen. Ich habe in der Paje geblieben, Nungwi aber nichts schlägt, in kizimkazi in Kwanza zu bleiben.

GGastnutzerThe service was great. The room with sea view on the second floor was very hygienic. Unfortunately the air conditioning was not available. It would be hot in the dry season. It would be even better if there were loungers at the door! I love the two cats here. They gave birth to four babies. It's a great thing I've met here.
