Residence le Terrazze

We didn’t book this hotel to start with we were moved here by our original room booking somewhere else. And, it seems after reading reviews there have been others with original bookings that are moved here due to “plumbing” problems at other rooms booked elsewhere. Makes me wonder if this is a thing they do to lots of people to get business. That being said let me start with the positives. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast and drinks unlimited is a nice touch since it is very far from anything and taxis are outrageous. The shuttle to and from town is awesome and the driver was very nice. The bed is very comfortable and oh gosh that view is beautiful. With that, the negatives are pretty intense also. We were put in a garden room that was at the very most bottom of the hotel that took forever to get down the tight winding stairs. When we arrived my husband and I were brought down there where the staff stepped over a mat at the bottom of the stairs that you would assume was able to be stepped on. Well DONT! It’s covering a foot size hole that we both stepped in since we weren’t warned hurting my husbands knee and sending me to the ground since I was carrying a very heavy book bag. The staff member just looked at us and shrugged his shoulder then re covered the hole again. Once in our room we noticed the shower had tile hanging off and moldy spots. The floor in kitchen was very dirty, we found chips and ants in the floor. Most of the outlets in the rooms didn’t work so thank goodness we brought one that can charge 3 things at once. The hair dryer doesn’t work, and the AC mini split unit is too small for that size room, freezing up in the middle of the night causing it to throw water all over my husband in bed near it. We believe this is because while we were out during the day it was turned off by staff who did bring clean towels which was nice since the first set, 1/2 were dirty, so after turning it back on it couldn’t keep up to re cool the room. Ants were too bad on the terrace in front of our room to sit out. Overall it wasn’t a great experience. Would we recommend this hotel to someone, No, but we made it though so that’s okay. If you book this hotel beware.

I must start and highlight the outstanding staff at this hotel, they truly made our stay. Particularly the young guy who checked us in. They really made sure they couldn’t do anything more for us. The hotel itself is quiet nice with a really nice terrace with cracking views and drinks available from the bar, which is the same place you get breakfast from. The breakfast was adequate with some pastries, juice and coffee. The addition of free laundry is great for travelling families. The distance from the town centre felt like an issue at first but it really didn’t cause any issues in fact we all agreed it was nice to get a break from the crowds. The pool area was set up with great views, however the furniture was a little tired and some areas felt and looked a little tired, but still was nice. Our room was well set up with an upstairs area for our kids with a small kitchenette, a very small bathroom, living area and main room. The lounge area had some damage apart from that and the small shower the rooms were great. Whilst there are stairs this shouldn’t stop you from booking - staff always help with bags and it’s not different to other locations in the area. Overall a great experience provided by the staff was the highlight.

We had an amazing stay! The views are amazing, the staff are amazing, the pool is amazing and the shuttle bus between Sorrento and the accomodation was the perfect way to get into town and do all of our day trips. There were plenty of restaurants in the area which were recommended to us by the team - all of them offered complimentary courtesy buses to get you there and back as well! We will miss our afternoon spritz on the rooftop terrace after a busy day! Highly recommend booking, had we known how satisfied we were going to be we would have booked for longer and visited the Amalfi coast based from Residence Le Terrazze via ferry. Ultimately, our stay was made to feel seamless. Special shout out to Giovanni and Daniele who made our stay one to remember and such a great experience! Thank you!!

Good location, friendly staff, and very clean. A little out of town, but the shuttle bus is very punctual and makes getting into town very easy, on the hour, but note, there is a lengthy lunch break wifi is a bit slow if you're connecting to the office while on vacation. Everything was quite comfortable, except for the fact we could follow every move of the guests next door. Can't say if all the rooms have this problem

Comparing this hotel to the others that are a lot more expensive its a good find. Theres a free shuttle bus that takes you into town. The bus has its problems where the drivers text while driving and are very aggressive when it comes to mask wearing and asking to be dropped off at the train station. A simple request or no is fine enough, we don't need a lecture. The hotel itself was fairly clean, no comfy seats but the view is spectacular. Tons of steps to get to the rooms so if you have mobility issues or have a hard time walking then steer clear of this hotel. Steps can become very steep and theres no elevator. The breakfast is very small where a few pastries and coffees can be requested in the morning. There is nowhere to walk to get groceries so expect to take the shuttle into the city center for anything you need. When the room was cleaned we didn't receive towels 2x which was not the most pleasant. The hotel reception was very friendly which we appreciated and they also booked a last minute boat tour that we loved. There is no ATM on site and the pool isn't heated. Overall a good stay but could use a few improvements.

We stayed here for 11 nights in August and would highly recommend. It’s a great location for exploring the Amalfi Coast. The shuttle bus into Sorrento is a god send and very easy to use (just make sure you are on time as they don’t wait for you!). The accommodation was comfortable, the only thing we missed was a more comfortable chair/sofa (the chairs aren’t the most comfy). The staff here are incredible! Friendly and super accommodating. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend
