Grand Hotel Aminta

Great hotel, only issue is the shuttle is never on time and to get from the hotel to main town in the middle of summer was a chore in itself, hotel staff were great and pool and views were great

This hotel is well situated away from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento, but the shuttle bus provided by the hotel makes it very convenient to visits. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. I cannot commend the pool guy enough, he was ace, very attentive. Amazing place to stay for our first time to Italy *****

We absolutely loved the Aminta, stayed there for six nights. Every single member of staff we met were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The view from the hotel was fantastic, the pool area calm, spotlessly clean and well planned. We had a view from room 502 across the bay which was stunning. The shuttle bus was reliable (in terms of time, the usual bus broke down halfway up the hill on day three and was replaced by a smaller 17 seater whilst they get the much larger version fixed!) and was welcome as it is €35 for a 10 min taxi ride from town. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious, lunch great and varied. Evening meals could be a bit hit and miss but we still ate at the hotel twice and the other nights went into town, catching either the 21.30 or 23.30 shuttle bus back. All in all, a superb hotel, staffed by the friendliest and welcoming people.

My husband and I spent a week at The Grand Hotel Aminta. The staff are amazing, the food very good and the views from the terrace are stunning, a beautiful hotel. A couple of watch outs, the noise from the road is quite intrusive especially sitting on the beautiful terrace, lots of high speed noisy bikes and cars, still, in my opinion worth it for the view. The shuttle bus is quite small, a 17 seater and quite often, especially returning from Sorrento in the evening, there were no seats. The driver usually allowed us all to pile on but quite stressful waiting to find out if you are going to get on, especially as a 10 minute taxi journey from town to the hotel is 35 Euros.

We have been visiting Aminta for 10 years now and we never tire of the place. It remains as beautiful as ever with slight modernisations over the years which makes it even better. The hotel in itself is spotless and the housekeeping are fantastic with the rooms cleaned including fresh towels every day. All the staff are amazing from the ladies at the front desk , Vitoria, Rosella, Lauren are there every year to welcome us and it feels like coming home, and even the new members of staff that we haven’t met since or last visit greet us like family. We were there for the lead up to Ferragosto an Italian holiday and a very busy one but nothing phases the staff from the superb guys at the pool to the fantastic staff in the restaurants and bars who work incredibly long hours but even in temps 40 degrees they are spotless. Aminta maybe slightly out of town (1/2 a mile if you go down the hill) but the views are breathtaking and I wouldn’t stay in the centre because of this. We are a well travelled couple but Aminta is our home from home and can’t wait to return next year. See you next August!

Very average hotel. Nothing special. Lauren at front desk was exceptional. The room we booked wasn’t available due to us booking for the incorrect dates. The front desk was kind enough to get us a room and the price was less as the room we had booked was not available at the time. Lauren handled this situation beautifully. Our friends stayed at a nearby hotel called Romantic Relais. We were shocked to find out that their room was the same price as ours. They had a large private patio, a very large bathroom with two showers, and much more. Their hotel driver kindly drove us between our hotel and theirs. When we took wine and dessert back to their room after dinner he brought pillows up for their outdoor furniture and extra chairs to make sure we were all comfortable. We sat looking over the beautiful sea and mountains. He drove us back to Hotel Aminta when we were done. Our room at Aminta was adequate. It had a bed, desk, a tv, a bathtub (no shower), and while we looked out onto a roof top if we walked out onto the tiny balcony if we turned left we had a nice view. There was no coffee or tea available in our room. We bought water at the bar. Breakfast was also adequate. I’m gluten free and half the offerings were pastries and bread. I had yogurt and hard boiled eggs each morning. The hotel was clean and the staff was available. Only Lauren really stood out. The shuttle to and from town was awkward. Sometimes it came a couple minutes early, sometimes ten minutes late. It made a jaunt into town a bit impossible. In conclusion, if I return to Sorrrento, I would either choose to stay somewhere walkable to town or choose The Romantic Relais as for the same price as The Grand Aminta it was three times as nice for the same price.

We arrived here for a weeks stay after my parents have wanted to visit here for years; on arrival there was a bottle of fizz waiting for them that I had pre arranged the trip was off to a wonderful start. My mum is coeliac and was very concerned about eating on this trip and safe to say she needn’t have been while staying here, the knowledge all staff members have on gluten free and their calm and relaxed attitude was a breath of fresh air to what we experience here in the UK. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, so clean and so spacious. We managed to enjoy a few days by the pool which was heaven, the staff by the pool are so attentive with the free towels! We couldn’t fault any staff member on our visit, the bar staff, especially Peppe, were so friendly! Always laughing and very nice people. Our main server through the trip in the restaurant and out by the pool was Pietro, he was so attentive to my mums needs and so friendly. The ladies who man the reception desk are absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble Overall, this was the best hotel experience our family have had and I would urge anyone thinking about their stay in sorrento for it to be here.

Hotel was beautiful. The entire staff really lovely , courteous friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel itself was clean , beautifully presented . Stunning views of Vesuvius, and Capri . A relaxing tranquil time . The hotel was near enough with the great shutttlenbus ( Alex was brilliant) gojng back and forth , but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without feeling isolated . We stayed half board and really enjoyed breakfast ( especially the cakes - which were my daily treat). Good choice which covered everything . My friend who is coeliac was spoilt for choice both at breakfast and at dinner. Nothing was too much for the staff. The pool and jaquzzi were lovely . Towels were provided by the hotel . We had our towels changed everyday . New shampoos and shower gel everyday . A huge choice of , beers, soft drinks , wines , and cocktails were on offer. We didn’t have lunch as we were out and about . I really enjoyed the entertainment .

Arrived to a lovely welcome. Fantastic setting away from the bustle of Sorrento There’s a shuttle bus every hound back to a central location easy to use and reliable. Our room was superb ( we were upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the Gulf of Napoli fabulous. The food was amazing every day We were half board ( we did go into sorrento a couple of times at night) varied choices and a couple of special menu nights - we ate so much. The bar menu is superb too Special absolute mention must go to the staff. Reception. Dining room. Housekeeping. Bar. Pool area ( two lovely chaps one Scottish one Italian really couldn’t be more helpful. None of the 5am throw a towel down nonsense ) this was probably our best ever holiday in all the years we’ve traveled. I wouldn’t take in any negative reviews on TA for this property as those folk probably would complain no matter where they were The view from our room was spectacular Thank you Aminta We will definitely return ( room 318 )
