We stayed at Cavinton Hotel for 4 nights in Dec 2024 and had booked a Deluxe room with Ciy View. Had booked this hotel because of the good reviews in particular the upgraded room. We had arrived about 8 p.m. and was shocked to learn our booking was cancelled. It was because we brought the wrong AGODA voucher. IWe had cancelled a room but had rebooked a new room. We had paid for ourroom before we left Singapore and showed the front desk of the payment. They asked us to contact AGODA. As it was quite late and we were tired, I asked how much if we book a room for 4 nights. The price quoted was TWICE the price we had paid through AGODA.! After a lot of hassle, they gave us a room. We realised that we had brought the wrong voucher (the cancelled one) but the front desk could have checked from our name instead. Upon checking-in we went to our room and saw the room was facing the roof of the lobby whereas we had requested for city view. Further, there was no fridge. We understand that there is no fridge for Superior room. But we had booked a Deluxe room. We felt that the hotel had downgraded us! We had booked for a Deluxe room with King bed. But they had given us a room with 2 single beds joined together. Hence, the bedspread was not large enough to cover the bed. It was so absurd! The toilet does not come with a water spray but a bidet instead, which was not highlighted by the hotel. The hotel breakfast spread is average. My husband had nasi goreng for dinner at the restaurant on the 8th floor and suffered diarheoa. We had a sleepness night because he had rushed to the toilet several times. Would we come back to stay here again? Definitely not.
