Santorini Caves is located in an area away from the busy areas of Santorini, providing a quiet, serene environment. It can be a bit of a challenge to find as the small very rough gravel road to the parking (free) above the suites is not well-marked and on arrival, there is only one small sign that is easily missed (not visible if the gate is left open) to indicate where the hotel is. It is not walkable to any restaurants, but is only a short drive into the main town centre. The suites share a large outdoor patio space, with views of a couple of blue-domed churches. Our suite was the Family Suite, which provided us with lots of room. The furnishings were comfortable. A breakfast basket was provided daily, however they were quite inconsistent with these items, one day no water was provided, another day no milk or juice was included despite cereal being provided. Since you have a fully-equipped kitchen, you might want to pick up a few basic supplies to cover this. Wifi was very weak in the suite, but to be expected since it was a cave after all! And despite being a cave, it was not damp or humid. And certainly a unique experience! Despite being in early February, the room was warm and comfortable (but we did have really nice weather throughout our visit!). No staff is resident on site. We did arrive once to find our room open and nobody in the vicinity. The housekeeper did arrive a few minutes later, but it wouldn't have taken long for another guest to enter and go through our belongings. We weren't impressed with the relaxed attitude toward security and service in general. Despite this, we did enjoy the stay.
