Cape 9 Villas & Suites

Akrotiri Santorini|1.41km Entfernung von Red Beach
I booked this hotel 9 months in advance, immediately after which I cancelled because I recognized it too far from where we wanted to be in Santorini. I received no communication from the hotel - no confirmation, no cancellation, no receipt or notice when they charged my credit card the full amount a month later (6 months before the stay), and no notice when their non-refundable policy expired. When I finally received my first email days before the reservation, when I was already traveling internationally, I immediately responded that there must be some confusion. I was met with incredibly rude and antagonist responses that were shocking from a hotel of this type. I travel very frequently and stay at all levels of hotel and have never experienced this. When I pointed out that I could not produce the cancellation because they never sent me one, they insisted that I be fully charged. When I then pointed out that their taking of the full amount as deposit and refusal to accept even a 50% refund violated the Greek Tourist Protections, they responded that it was their policy to do so. They also said they expected to see me there and kept their rooms as unavailable on their website, even though I noted that reposting the room could mitigate the damages. The tone of their emails - exclamation points, all caps terms etc. was really just shocking. It ruined the part of my vacation spent trying to reason with them, in addition to the money I am currently disputing that they withdrew from my card. Book at your own risk - the practices do not conform to Greek standards (I am filing a complaint) and the tone was in stark contrast to the otherwise lovely staff we encountered at other hotels in Greece. Save your money and sanity and book elsewhere.

Had an amazing time in Santorini – the hotel, whilst a 3 star – had the most amazing pool area – tropical palms, plenty of sun beds - and the welcome we got from the Paradise resort in Akrotiri was just as lovely and warm as the weather. It’s a family ran hotel and the staff work very hard to ensure their guests are having a good time. Maid is in once a day and the rooms were clean and tidy – there was a fridge, iron, wifi, TV etc. I think you can also ask for a kettle and cups – but we didn’t bother. It was our first time in Santorini so we did ask a lot of questions and George the Manager and his lovely partner helped us with ideas of where to go and how to get there. Nothing was a problem – the hotel even organised an ATV for us which got delivered to the hotel – as it’s a small island so you can get around it quite easily. The hotel was laid back, the food was good and we loved the little dog they had called Yoko – she was so friendly and checked out the guests arriving to give her approval. The area was quiet compared to some parts of the island – but there were plenty of buses, an ATM over the road and a great supermarket with everything you could need. There were lots of alleys and walks around the hotel – with some uneven surfaces - so a good pair of walking sandals/shoes/trainers are a must. Before going to Santorini – you need to decide what kind of holiday you want – is it the more expensive, boutique hotels favoured by the vloggers – which can be very busy – especially when the cruise ships dock – or somewhere more quiet as a base where you can relax and check out various places at your leisure in a more sedate manner – depending on how you feel. We chose the latter – and it was a good choice. Our hotel was near a famous ancient Archaeological site – supposedly covered in volcanic ash due to an eruption on the island many years ago. It cost 12 Euros each to get in – and took us about an hour and a half to get round – reading the signs etc – if this is your bag then it’s worth a visit. It was on our doorstep – so we took a look. There’s the usual gift shop and cafe etc. Near the ruins – further down took you to a beach area – for 10 Euros for the day - there was a boat that took you to some of the beaches in the area – namely Red Beach, White Beach, Black Beach – you could get off and one of their boats would pick you up later on – you were given a wrist band so you could boat hop – however we stayed on the boat and our captain gave us the low down on the area. For the price – it was a nice few hours out – very refreshing and good to see the coastline – which is very impressive. There was a local bus stop nearby – and whilst the buses are of good quality – the time table is not generally adhered to – we were told they ran to “Greek time” – no worries we were on our holidays. You pay for the ticket on the bus – and they are about 1.80 each way. They all seem to terminate at the bus station in Fira – so when we had a tri

Absolute Paradise Santorini- Adults Only

Paradies, absolut.

Our second stay in Santorini and wanted somewhere away from heavy tourist footfall. This villa offers different bedroom capacities which are all separate with en suite facilities. Beds are comfy and not too hard. Breakfast is ordered the day before. Our suite was the highest level and afforded beautiful views across the Calder a. Our hot tub was fantastic and everywhere very clean. Walking into the little village of Akrotiri takes about 12 - 15 minutes and is steep in places but there is a path. There are local restaurants and two good quality supermarkets there as well as a pharmacy and bus stop to access the island. Bus fares are 2 euros. Therapy is a 20 minute bus ride away with stunning views en route. The service and attention we received from Marialena and her colleague during our 4 night stay was excellent. Some nights we didn't want to go out but enjoy our room and hot tub. Marialena sent us menus from local restaurants that delivered and we ordered through her. Fantastic stay thank you Summer Lovers and Marialena.

A beautiful clean and characterful hotel in a lovely quiet part of Santorini. This hotel is truly 5 star, we had breathtaking views of the Caldera from our balcony and the pool area. Staff are lovely, so attentive and friendly. A special thanks to Sotiris the Supervisor. Always a great welcome at breakfast, nothing too much trouble. Katerina the lead waitress, a great sense of humour and always bringing different greek dishes for us to try. She was so attentive and efficient, a lovely lady. Julio assistant waiter, quiet but so attentive and a real gentleman. Andreas the young bartender, so pleasant and always ready to chat. All the staff deserve our praise including kitchen staff and cleaners but we got to know the ones above really well and there were hugs all round when we left. This lovely hotel is highly recommended.
