Mi Casa en Cozumel

Pros: -Cute design inside the property and the rooms, nice balcony with a hammock. -Good proportion breakfast that was served in a nice backyard covered with trees. Cons: -When you arrive, you have to wait at the door for someone to open. We only had to wait 5-10 minutes. -Cash payment only. -Only Spanish speaking host, who wasn't very welcoming and asked for the payment at the door even before we entered the property. -Awful bath towels that are extremely crusty that hurts your skin. -Internet is not reliable. -No one at the property when you need something.

I was in Cozumel for a dive trip over Spring Break and stayed at Mi Casa. The place is elegantly simple… It’s centrally located and isn’t more than a 10 minute walk to most, if not all, dive shops. The fact that it’s not right downtown means that it’s also fairly quiet there at nights which I appreciated after a long day of diving. The prices are very reasonable and the breakfast in the morning is really good. The only thing is that because it’s small scale, you have to be communicative as to what time you are planning to arrive since there’s no actual front desk here and if you come at a time they’re not expecting, the staff might not be there. I didn’t have to wait too long though. Overall, I really loved my time here and WILL absolutely come back and stay here the next time I’m in Cozumel

Great central location, we were able to walk everywhere and felt safe. I love the layout of Mi Casa and the room (Sandia) was very comfortable, breezy and clean. Irma made a nice breakfast and every morning there was something different. Our room had a/c, ceiling fan, mini fridge, a safe and Netflix.

Beautifully designed quiet place. Great room included bedroom/bathroom/kitchen area and outside areas with hammock, table and chairs. Good public spaces. Nice breakfasts. Within good walking distances to other attractions and restaurants. Will be going back!

Very clean. Instead of tearing down all the trees when it was built, the design incorporated the trees into the hotel ambiance. Very peaceful. We came to scuba, not swim, but we did try and use the pool upon arrival and it is across the street and not in swimmable condition. Again, we were fine with not swimming, but if you are looking to hang out by the pool during your trip, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless the pool and surrounding area is cleaned up.

The place was an older hotel villa and close to the city center as it was just a 10 minute walk away. The price is very good for what you get and the breakfast is an added plus. The villa could be updated a bit more but I was mostly just sleeping there so I was fine with everything. Irma was great and Inwould recommend this place.

I had a great stay at Mi Casa en Cozumel. Irma cooked us a fine breakfast every morning, and provided helpful info (the latter required a little Spanish). Memo also gave me VERY helpful info and advice in English, including recommending a great scuba tour operator. The only minor downside was the WiFi in my room area was basically non-existent, so make sure you have data minutes. Aside from that quibble I had a great stay. It is in a convenient location to a supermarket and restaurants as well.

Irma was very kind and helpful, I would use this property again. Very nice and quiet place.

This was our first time staying at MiCasa. My husband our friend and I have come on a diving trip. We have chosen this location based on proximity to dive shop we dive with, dock for boat pick up, supermarket and restaurants and ferry dock. MiCasa is in perfect location, one block away from water and 5 minutes walk to busy downtown area. Property is on residential street and very quiet with access to amazing swimming pool right across the street. We love the quaint feel of the property with lots of plants in comfortable open air common area. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and they were happy to accommodate plant based eaters. Hosts and caretakers were extremely kind and responsive. We stayed at Mango room with little kitchenette and it was perfect. Rooms were clean and we loved just turning on the fan at night and having screen doors open. This place was exactly what we were looking for but if you are seeking luxurious accommodation with round a clock front desk and staff, this is not it and that is also the reason we loved it so much.
