Wonderful facilities. The bed is super comfortable. It’s a destination. More like a 4.5 star hotel than a 4 star. Make sure to check the hotel room type to get an ocean view if possible. Public area is awesome and a destination for locals and tourists.

Paper thin connecting door to the room next door. I could hear every word they said. They have young straight guys peddling overpriced massages all day long at the pool. Feels weird.

This hotel was beautiful, the staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool and beach options and the full service restaurant on property. It was modern and updated with beautiful bathroom. The concierge Hector was especially helpful and so was the front end valet.

Have stayed here many times and I love it. Great beach front club plus a roof pool. Rooms are nice and staff is amazing. Very walkable to town.

I cannot get wifi in my room and i have told them 5 times that i need to be relocated to the main building. No one will listen to me. I have to get online to work. My room is in another building and the connecting door to the room next door is basically non existent. I can hear every word the people in the room say. It’s really a bummer and a really bad experience. Stay away from room 214

I gave the property a "good" rating though a few things could have made it excellent. Pluses include the Eden pool, walkability to restaurants/bars, the gym, the size of our room, the amenities in our room, balcony, friendliness of staff, availability of room cleaning.
The one thing that bothered me the most was there was construction above and below our room on certain days and I was not aware prior to my stay that we would experience the noise and the debris that fell onto our balcony.
I would not recommend eating dinner at the "Top" restaurant. The price of food and drinks is high compared to much higher quality restaurants a short walk away. The food was mediocre. The spa services are great but the price is high even by American standards. I had an amazing massage but it seems not many people do. There are a lot of great spas in town that offer lower prices for similar quality.
This was my second stay at Almar and I would go back for another in the future.

Mantamar tower is directly across from the beach club. Our room was located at the entrance which left us no privacy on our balcony or half of our room itself if the shades were open. The room was ok. No furniture to sit, just a long cold, hard marble slab running the length of the wall with a couple of pillows. The shower floor was so slippery we almost fell numerous times getting in and out. The toilet door had a 1 inch gap on all sides so no privacy there either. This hotel is more style over substance. The beach club was full of broken chairs and you are just constantly harassed for massages or locals selling things. It was not relaxing in the least. The only good feature of the hotel was EDEN, the pool area in the hotel. The pool was salt water and relaxing and the staff were friendly and attentive. Wouldn’t stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Almar, and the Mantamar Beach Club too! Staff was very friendly...they helped make our first trip to PV awesome. Taxis outside the main entrance helped to eliminate Uber waits, when we did need a ride, but we were right in the heart of Zona Romantica, and walked most places. I would definitely stay here again!
