For a start beware of booking with trip. I booked for me and my 3 boys 14, 12, and 10 years old. When I got to the hotel they told me there would be an additional charge of 1500 euros for my 2 younger boys. So if the price looks cheap on trip please check with the hotel. As a single mother this was a terrible blow at the start of my holiday.
The room was unclean, the hotel claims to had had a massive refurbishment however the only changes was the colour scheme in the living area of the room. The bathroom was the same as last year when we stayed with one addition, it was unclean.
The main wardrobe in the living room had no hangers, I asked at reception and was told there was non to be had.
There are now drawers in the apartment. They have taken away a cabinet under the tv and replaced it with two round tables that really serve no purpose. Even the dressing table had no drawers. There are two tables either side of the bed but no cabinets with drawers.
I went to get a glass from the kitchen only to discover that the entire kitchen was devoid of equipment. Again I asked reception to be told I had to request the kitchen equipment. When the plates, etc arrived the cleaning lady dumped a box containing everything on the floor in the room. Not really what one would except from a “4” star hotel.
The room was only cleaned every day at around 3pm. The floors were never washed, I had to ask for clean sheets, The bed wasn’t made properly and the bathroom never touched. I found out from one of the cleaning staff that there are only 10 cleaning staff on a morning and the 1 on an afternoon the poor staff couldn’t.
It is impossible to get sunbeds at the pool. On a morning people start lining their bags containing towels at 7am then the pool is supposed to open at 9am. I went down a few times at 8.45 only to find the doors open and all sunbeds reserved with towels even though it states on the website that it is not permitted to reserve beds. Also the numbers of sunbeds at the pool is less than half of what it was last year when I stayed.
The food in the restaurant was disgusting, absolutely full of grease, the children’s food was atrocious me and my kids tried eat there three times but couldn’t eat a thing. I complained to the manager but he was very rude and shrugged his shoulders when I explained the problem.
I will not return to the hotel, I love Salou but not that terrible place. It is most definitely not a four star hotel. I wouldn’t even give it a two star.

I booked this hotel online directly,but didn't get a confirmation email.Emailed the hotel several times to see what the issue was as payment was still pending.It took 4 days to get back to me to tell me it had not been confirmed.So after that it was re-booked at the same price and everything was fine until we arrived.We waited 40mins in the queue for reception to be told our booking was made by the hotel for May and not April!!Another 30mins of sorting out the hotels second mistake to our booking at 10pm with a 4 year old child.We arrived at our room and noticed there was no cutlery,glasses,plates,cups,nothing at all so notified reception the next morning.In fairness when.we got back to our room that day,they had left all the items we were missing in our room,in a box for us to put away!!Now I've been to many hotels but I don't even think faulty towers would expect this off anybody!The hotel is lovely but was let down by a few incompetent staff who sure shouldn't be working in the industry.

I did write a review previously & deleted giving customer service a chance to address my complaints about hotel, after several emails being ignored I have decided to make my thoughts about hotel public ( I know I will get message under this review saying sorry/ we will take feed back on board ect. Pity they don't actually answer emails with feedback ) first impressions hotel lobby looks fantastic & you think the rest of hotel would be of similar standard ( wrong about that) people standing in front of hotel smoking ( smoking area in hotel Is a muddy piece of land with 1 ashtray) had 2 rooms both seen better days bath grubby in 1 room other room in a corner with small balcony & 1 bed. Food was lukewarm & booking in for breakfast / dinner every night ( time slot 7-8 ) 1 night went down 7:25 was refused entry because they said it was to late when I asked at reception about complaints procedure ( few things had been building up ) I was told there wasn't a procedure & I couldn't be given an email address because it was private information ( just had to Google to get it ) like I said food was average at best with small selection at diner ( ate out most nights ) most staff unfriendly & unhelpful. Next on to the bar was half board so when paying for a drink I don't expect a paper cup or even to be given a pint in a coca-cola glass ( wasn't even a pint in glass ) when I mentioned to bar staff the said no pint glasses where clean & that's biggest glass they had roof top terrace no glasses or sunglasses allowed in hot-tub even if you need them to see . Area outside closes at 12 every night except 1 night when some drunk woman decided to sing alone ( song by heart ) for 45mins only knowing the chorus despite people complaining about it staff just ignored her until around 1am. I was speaking to people outside who had stayed in hotel previously & said it has went really down hill since it's been took over staff look unhappy & are generally unhelpful towards guests. To many rules in place for people to actually relax & enjoy a holiday I wouldn't come back to this hotel if it was free & I certainly wouldn't recommend it to family or friends if they where thinking about it.

The bedroom was a really bad it was too small the air conditioning didn’t work and there help with portaventura was utterly bad when they say they have got the best things and the most helpful about portaventura because me and my dad wanted to buy fast track for dragon khan we went on the machine to buy the tickets and the most annoying part about it was that the fast track WASNT even for that ride so we went to get a refund and put a report in and they said that we will get the €20 back between 7-10 days and now it has been 14 days and they still haven’t gave my dad the money back yet. There was another problem with portaventura because me and my dad went to go on dragon khan because we waited in the cue after we put the report in and I usually give my phone to my dad to put in the bag and we get it after the ride and I forgot to ask him to put it into the bag and I know it was my own fault for forgetting but then my phone slipped out so we went back to the hotel and go in the pool to relax and calm down a bit and because I have this skin condition and I have to go in the pool with at-shirt on we was going in the pool the lifeguard said that I am not allowed to go in the pool in my t-shirt so my dad was trying ti explain why and they said tuff it’s his own fault and I can’t physically put a skin condition on myself and I do feel bad for other people who have a skin condition and if you have a skin condition I WOULDNT recommend going to dorada palace and I don’t want it to happen to anyone else. Another reason why I WOULDNT go to portaventura and dorada palace again is because as I explained before I lost my phone and you know what it’s like when a teenager looses his/hers phone so me and my dad signed in to iCloud find devices on google and at 8:30 in the morning someone answers the phone and all we could here was the music in the background and they answered for 48 secs and we watched him go around the park and when he got to the exit he turned it off then the next day he took the SIM card out and took my phone and the park said there is nothing they can do about it because they DIDNT do it apparently and my holiday was good at sometimes but the hotel was a dump and the breakfast food was the worst thing I have tasted in my life HORRIBLE i couldn’t tell who how bad it was, there was sausages full of bones the eggs were green, the pancakes were black cereal was soggy utterly DISGRACEFUL and I don’t want this to happen to anyone else because I don’t want other people to wasn’t there money on this bad hotel and we have agreed this place is never getting money off us again and as I said hopefully this helps some other people and hopefully they choose a different BETTER place than here so best off luck dorada palace hope you all get nothing and be POOR and that review was off me so. IM NOT COMING BACK!

Check in was very busy but very pleased with allocated room. We are half board and had booked a twin room but got a one bedroom corner plot apartment with two separate balconies, room 408. Pool areas are lovely, as we are adults we only used the adult only roof top pool which I can’t fault. It’s lovely and quiet with one pool and two hot tubs. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The restaurant can’t get very busy but you can book allocated times which are one of 3 sittings and food is prepared fresh for each sitting. Half price tickets to port adventura and free courtesy bus, really enjoyed this day. We also walked to the port of Salou and caught the free to Cambrils which is a stunning place. All in all we have had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return.

Great hotel, close to the beach and entertainment. Port Aventura within walking distance. Food of good quality and very clean. Two good sized swimming pools manned by guards. Top of hotel several jacuzzi and spectacular views over Salou.

Just back from a five day stay&honestly have nothing bad to say.Diane checked us in and she was friendly, polite&informative.All the staff here were great.We stayed in a self catering apt and it was immaculate, spacious&comfy.Housekeeping team called every day.The hotel itself is beautiful, pool bar has a great selection of food(club sambo wow)lovely lady working there also who went out of her way to get my daughter some turkey.We had breakfast every morning and it was always lovely plenty of food and plenty of choices.The hotel was really busy with a great atmosphere.Great evening entertainment fun for all age groups.I would definitely return to Dorada palace thank you to all the staff who made our stay great.

After arriving early we knew our rooms wouldn’t be ready and we didn’t have a problem with that . However, we didn’t expect to be charged 5 euros per case to have them stored in automated lockers . Eventually we got our room at around 3pm, room 161 on the first floor, tucked away in a corner with a tiny balcony that we couldn’t use . If you’re offered this room , refuse it !! I only wish we had, but we tired from travelling and decided to put up with it. In the evening drinks we served in paper cups up to 8pm and then after the bar staff had no idea of what glasses to use , serving gin and tonic in Coca Cola tumblers. The first night the bar was covered in empty dirty glasses with no intention of any one clearing them . The lobby bar had no ambience and wasn’t welcoming, too brightly lit .The food in the restaurant was good and we enjoyed our meals , but there was no waiter service and we had to queue up for drinks. The snack bar in the daytime had long queues and wait times . The rooftop terrace was a bonus and a perfect place to relax, but apparently we were not allowed to wear our sunglasses in the hot tub. Also the rooftop bar wasn’t part of the all inclusive drinks, and it was ok to go down 6 floors to get drinks from the snack bar and take them back up . Definitely not 4* , only 3* at best

We stayed as a young couple here for 4 nights and honestly we cannot fault this hotel in any way! Our flight was delayed so we didn’t arrive until early hours in the morning, and we were both exhausted and just wanted our bed the gentleman on the desk who checked us in made us feel so at ease and got us checked in nice and quickly, gave us all the info we needed, and wished us a good nights sleep The room was brilliant, always nice and clean, and the housekeeping staff were second to none, always so friendly and did an amazing job cleaning our room every day! The balcony was nice and spacious, even though we didn’t have a pool view that didn’t bother us at all, it was still nice to have a big balcony to sit on in the evenings and relax The food was amazing especially for all inclusive, you always find it to be the same stuff, but we found the food really tasty and always had loads of options on offer. We never found booking a table for food a problem, we could book it all on our first day for our whole stay, and could easily change it if need be, and you don’t need to book on for midday lunch meal so that was nice too! The AI drinks were brilliant, right by the pool and the staff were lovely as well, never had to wait long for a drink, and if for whatever reason they’d ran out of a certain drink, they’d offer nice alternatives to what you wanted! Thank you so much to all of the staff during our stay, sorry we couldn’t remember the names of anyone in particular, but they were all brilliant, made us feel welcomed, and were always on hand to help and inform us during our stay, we’ll definitely be looking at coming back in the near future! ☀️

Hotel itself was beautiful and very clean everywhere, however we booked a self catering apartment and was on a b&b service PLEASE BE AWARE you do not get any kettle, mugs, utensils, saucepans, plates, no nothing apart from the appliances!!!!!! We arrived late and were astounded to find not even a kettle in our room to make a tea... Breakfast quite good. Although you have to book the night before a specific time slot and stick to it. Some strange outdoor entertainment by the main pool area goes on until around 11pm very loud if you are in a pool view apartment, not great if you have an early flight and need to get some sleep the night before!! Air conditioning was not working too well when arrived, but they did sort it and then it seemed to be ok for rest of the stay. Great location within walking distance of main bars, restaurants, shops etc but it is up a hill. If it had not been for the lack of items in the apartment we would of stayed again, but having to shell out for a kettle, mugs and cutlery was not what we had planned for! Never ever had that before in self catering. Also we were only offered 50% off theme park tickets not the free ones that were advertised but perhaps that is because we were not fully inclusive. The roof top terrace area (adults only) and gym were out of action the whole of our stay which was also a little disappointing. We stayed sept 24
