2-Sterne-Hotels in Reykjavík

Meine Bewertung betrifft insbesondere die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption, im Restaurant und im Zimmerservice. Besonders geschätzt habe ich ihren außerordentlichen Fleiß und die Schnelligkeit in ihrer Arbeit, die Freundlichkeit in allen Bereichen und die Hilfsbereitschaft, insbesondere dann, wenn es einem an eigenen Fremdsprachenkenntnissen etwas mangelt. Ich werde das Hotel Cabin auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Kex… Ugh such a frustrating review to write. I really wanted to like the Kex hostel it has its good points, but overall was the worst hostel stay I have had in Iceland. I’ll give you my very detailed opinion. The Bad… -Lacking in the toilet paper department!!! We were on floor 4 there were several private bathrooms with showers and also separate locker room style bathrooms. At 7:30 AM I ran to the bathroom after finishing my business realized there was no TP! Ugh. Anyway afterwards I looked through the different open stalls with toilets. Only 3 toilets on the whole 4th floor had TP! To me having adequate TP is an essential thing. The bathrooms weren’t restocked until 10AM ish. And we aren’t even in peak tourist season. We mentioned the issue to the staff and they said “just call next time you need something” kinda hard to “just call” when you have already done your business in the bathroom and you need something to wipe with! They need to have staff check the bathrooms more frequently. -The kitchen is sad in the “equipment” department. One of the reasons we stay at hostels is to cook our own food. Maybe they are trying to push buying food from their restaurant. I get that they get a lot of traffic. But the cooking pan selection is -Terrible- nasty old pans that the thrift shop would discard. Janky handles, and interior coating mega gouged out. Don’t come here expecting to cook at least on level 4. -No way to make coffee!!! Again they probably want you to pay for their breakfast. But there is no option to make coffee. No coffee pot, machine, or way to make a filter pour over etc. Don’t bring coffee grounds expecting to make your morning brew. There was an electric kettle, but again no way to make coffee unless you brought instant. -The showers need a good bleach and scrub. The walls had black mold growing on them. Considering the fact that Kex was our most expensive hostel in Iceland (we paid 20,906 for a private double, with linens, and shared bathrooms…or $153 US) compare Kex to the Svjarborg in Stykkisholmer $90 US or Halfdan HI Hostel $63 US ( in both we had a private double & shared bath) but both were awesome and had a fully equipped kitchen with decent quality pots, options to make coffee, and plenty of toilet paper. I understand that being in the city we can expect to pay more. BUT I expect that price to include: -enough toilet paper -a means to make coffee -decent cookware. The good… -The location is great. Easy walking distance to the main shops/streets. And the ocean right across the highway. -Awesome “vibe” cool decor, lots of couches/lounge areas. -Entertaining/Social. In the evening there was group song trivia in the main area, and in another a live band. -Our room a private double with shared bathroom was large, and we slept well. (Note: I have never stayed in a “quiet” hostel so I always travel with a sleep soundtrack on my phone and a melatonin) -The staff was all polite In conclusion, I have traveled on 4 contine

Nicht schlecht. Es war zu spät und ich konnte nur noch auf einem oberen Etagenbett schlafen. Kann ich nicht anhand der geplanten Zeit auswählen? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Fantastische Unterkunft, nur einen Schritt vom Zentrum entfernt, mit Küche. Räumiges Zimmer, komfortabele Betten.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr nahe an der Kathedrale und dem Stadtzentrum, sehr nahe an der Bushaltestelle, bequem zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten, das Frühstück ist moderat und gut, der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, der Bedarf an Handtüchern muss im Voraus ohne zusätzliche Kosten gesagt werden. Dieser Shop ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Unfortunately, before we had even arrived I had contacted the owners to find out if towels were included in our stay and we never received a response. Upon entering the triple studio apartment, we noticed paint/concrete flaking from the wall and one of us even had to put a blanket above the bunk bed to stop debris from falling onto the bed. The property is described as including toiletries and tea and coffee but there was no tea bags and the amount of instant coffee in the container was barely enough for one day. The toiletries were what looked to be shower gel that had been left behind by the previous visitors. When searching for your standard shampoo and conditioner that we're expected to be on display, we found two empty alcohol bottles full of cigarette butt's inside them and bottle tops left inside one of the bed side tables. This suggests that the apartment is rarely cleaned. There was an awful smell of egg/faeces when using the shower and there was no where near enough toilet roll for 3 people for 3/4 days. We understood that the accommodation was described as a guesthouse, however, despite the fact that there was a 'no noise after midnight' policy - the people staying in the otherside of the guesthouse were noisy and shouting all through the night and playing loud music which meant we could not fully enjoy our plans the following day. Overall, we would not stay here again and do not recommend the guesthouse if you want a clean and tidy stay. We decided it would be worth spending extra money next time for a comfortable, reassuring stay somewhere else inside the city.

Mir hat alles sehr gut gefallen. Das Zimmer hatte alles, was man sich für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt wünscht. Das Zimmer war immer sauber. Das Frühstück konnte man selbst jeden Tag vollkommen abwechslungsreich gestalten. Es gab immer frisches Obst, Quark, jede Art von Milch, Müsli, mehrere Brotarten, Käse, Salami usw. Am Abend konnte man sich etwas in der Mikrowelle aufwärmen und es gab immer Tee und Kaffee. Das Zentrum in 15 erreichbar, BuS Hostel (von dort gehen viele Touren aus) in 1 Minute erreichbar, Busbahnhof in ca. 10 Minuten erreichbar. Also die Lage ist exelent. Die Besitzerin war freundlich und hilfsbereit, gleichzeitig jedoch nicht aufdringlich. Das fand ich super. Es gibt zwei Duschen, die vollkommen ausreichend sind. Abschließend kann ich nur sagen, dass diese Unterkunft für diejenigen, die ihr Geld lieber für die Erkundung von Iceland ausgeben wollen, sehr gut geeignet. Der Preis Leistung Verhältnis für Reykjavík ist hervorragend.

Gute Lage 3 Minuten zu Fuß zum Busbahnhof.Schreckliches Gebäude nicht sorgen, Mildew überall, überwältigt Weide, Zimmer sehr klein, nicht sehr sauber, Blätter mit Loch mit grauen Farbe nicht weiß, sie sehen unheilbar. Es gibt niemand, um Sie in. Ich kam in den 30er Jahren mit hohem Wind und schrecklichen Regen. Ich musste einen Gast bitten, mich einzulassen. Der Manager wurde von dem Gast angerufen, der ankam und gab mir die Schlüssel zum Vorentgeltraum. Die Kosten waren $129/night.I kann dieses schreckliche und teure Gästehaus nicht empfehlen.

This place was great. I loved the self check-in and check-out. It offered a hassle free and quick arrival and departure. We didn't see many employees or other guests as we were out early in the morning and back late in the evening, but the ones we did meet were very kind and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean and warm. We never got cold at night, and while the bathrooms were tiled, the floor was heated. I don't have any complaints about the property, except the fact that the rooms were only cleaned after you checked out. By the end of our five day stay, our bin was overflowing. Overall it's a great place to stay, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking to visit Iceland on a budget.

This was a great place. It's located right next to Hallgrimskirken, which makes it easy to explore Reykjavik and there is plenty of parking space in the area. I was positively surprised by the breakfast, and you have the option to store and make food in the evening. The staff is very kind and helpful as well. However, the room I was in leaked water through the ceiling when it rained and there was a rather significant buildup of mould in the upper corner of my room, which made me slightly ill towards the end of my stay. I would otherwise give this place 5 stars, but I can't recommend this place before this issue is adressed, as it's only going to get worse with time.
