I recently stayed at this hotel and regrettably cannot recommend it. While the location is convenient, the overall experience was disappointing. Cleanliness was a significant issue, particularly in the bathroom, which appeared neglected. The in-room kettle emitted an unpleasant odor that was nearly nauseating, and the mugs provided were visibly unclean. These hygiene concerns made for an uncomfortable stay. The hotel's facilities were outdated and poorly maintained. Despite its favorable location, the substandard cleanliness and overall quality of service make it difficult to justify choosing this establishment for future visits.

Very close to city center with access to food late at night. 15 minute walk to Train station. The room is tidy and bathroom is neat. However there is no amenities. I paid another 10 pounds to check in early at 12. The lift was not working at the time.

This stay was a nightmare I spent 4 days at the travel lodge and on the day of my arrival there was full scale construction taking place outside of my room. The front desk service was basically never present and a sign asking to call for assistance was consistently placed there, i placed the sign on my door to have my towels changed and my trash emptied to which everyone ignored on the 3rd day I had an incident when I spilled water on my bed and asked for a change of bedding where I was told that bedding was only changed after 7 days, i will never use this hotel again.

We have stayed at Travel Lodges in the past, which are usually of a pretty decent standard and without complaint. However, Reading Central leaves very little to be desired. Firstly, I was immediately drawn to people hanging around smoking at the entrance door; our room in general was poorly maintained, eg stains around the bath plug, a broken handwash dispenser that left residue on the sink. Stains on the curtain and a tatty bedroom chair. The staff, although helpful in other areas, were completely unknowledgeable regarding the local area activities, for example, the nightlife.
