GGastnutzerMile 36 ist eine sehr einfache Lodge, die aus billigen Materialien gebaut wurde. Allerdings ist es sauber, die Dusche ist heiß und es gab einen Wasserkocher. Das Frühstück ist einfach und für alle gleich, aber für eine begrenzte Anzahl von Tagen ist das in Ordnung. In der Nähe gibt es ein gutes Restaurant für Mittag- und Abendessen.

AAdam AshraffThe location is great as its very near to the town/night market. Room is good as it come with hot water and quit spacious. We got pond view room. Very good. But, the hot water need to wait for next people to use as it might needed to re-heat back. As u are in cold places, the hot water need to be always available as soon as possible. The management can improve this. Other is ok. Good.

LLoga KrishEs hat sowohl Vor- als auch Nachteile. Was die Vorteile betrifft, das Resort war recht günstig gelegen für einige Touristenattraktionen wie den Kinabalu-Park, der ganz in der Nähe liegt, also nur etwa 3 Minuten Fahrt entfernt. Am wichtigsten ist, dass man von der Unterkunft aus eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf den Berg hat. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und konnten uns am ersten Tag ein alternatives Menü zu unserem vegetarischen Essen anbieten, was für uns eine große Erleichterung war. Was die Nachteile betrifft, hatten wir nachts/frühmorgens einige Insekten (Bienen) im Zimmer. Ansonsten war der Ort während unseres Aufenthalts recht angenehm. Danke.

NNajeh YusriStayed here for a night. The location is a little off because you cannot see Mt. Kinabalu anywhere, but you would find yourself surrounded by pine trees, which is also a point to add. You could hear the winds at night, a little scary but also serene at the same time. I would not be bothered by anything else except for the network. It was so slow during my stay, eventhough they provided the wifi. What is the point connecting to the wifi if you cannot use it anyway? Our phone network also did not work there, unfortunately. It’s a big concern because people would want to text, call their families and friends besides updating their social medias and making research for attractions etc. If the management team could figure this out and work for a better improvement on this issue, it would be great and more pleasurable to stay. Other than that, it was a good stay. Thank you!

GGraceGuiThe hotel room near Kundasang was spacious and comfortable, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The condition of the room was great, offering cozy furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. The on-site restaurant was a highlight, especially the dinner options, which were delicious and well-prepared. However, the cleanliness of the room left room for improvement, as there were quite a few bugs that disrupted the overall experience. Another issue arose during my shower when the hot water suddenly stopped. Thankfully, it happened just as I was nearly done, so it didn’t cause too much inconvenience.

TL;DR: This place feels more like a meditation centre than a hotel, it will not provide you with supplements. It's a bare room. You need to bring toothbrush&paste and buy drinks somewhere as it is not provided. No tv and fan. No in-house restaurant. There are mosquitoes at the garden near afternoon, and the balcony at night, but there are no insects in the room (family room). In exchange you will get a very clear and vivid Mt Kinabalu view in the near-dawn morning (where there is no mosquito), a working shower with heater, concrete floor that reduces nearby noise, and cold foggy experience.
Long:
This place is within the fog path so you will get the foggy experience. You can also see Mt. Kinabalu at the right time and it looks quite close (e.g. dawn 6 a.m.). You can even see the electric towers and resthouse, it's that close. Moreover, this place is more like a meditation centre than a hotel. It is visibly run down probably since covid as that is also when the in-house restaurant got closed down. Considering my experience as a recurrent visitor of Kundasang, mosquito has always been the least of my concern. Somehow this place has lots of them. We got bit quite a lot in a short span of time.
Undesirable / Cons:
-No water kettle, no supplements (water bottle, coffee pack, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Porcelain mugs are provided though
-No in-house cafe/restaurant but nearby has a few (400 meters at least)
-No tv, no fan but cold in general
-Quite a lot of mosquito and moths outside at the garden place in the afternoon and at the balcony connecting the 2 buildings at night. There are no electric zapper.
-Seems a bit run down at the garden. 2 broken board pieces on the floor for example.
-It has no Qibla for muslim people, at least in family room
Desirable / Pros:
-Big room. Not smelly
-Is cement board floor
-Big single beds. Not smelly
-Clean bed. Fluffy cover.
-Water heater is working for family room at least
-Relatively clean inside room and at reception. No insects in room. No weird bugs around.
-Has a table and chairs in room
-Lots of electrical port
-Wifi provided by hotel is strong (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
-Very near main road. So good road going towards the hotel
-Aki-Aki trail starting point is nearby. Plan to go next time so no experience as of this review
This place is not too bad. Not too good either. Personally, I wouldn't place this as my top place for the foggy and view considering other options but I don't mind returning if necessary. It will sure be much much better to highly recommended with much needed renovation and have some methods to deal with those mosquito.
p.s. There's a cute puppy that invites you at the entrance. 😂

Die Aussicht von diesem Hotel ist absolut atemberaubend (Sie können auf TikTok nach dem Video suchen). Sie macht wirklich alles andere lohnenswert. Die Atmosphäre erinnert ein wenig an die 90er Jahre, aber alles ist sauber und gut gepflegt.

Ungeziefer: Es gibt gelegentlich Ungeziefer, aber es scheint, als ob man damit zurechtkommen kann. Achten Sie einfach darauf, Türen und Fenster nachts geschlossen zu halten.
Eingeschränkte Klimatisierung: Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, aber es kühlt nachts ab.
Abgelegene Lage: Das Hotel befindet sich auf einem hohen Hügel, etwa 2,3 km (unbefestigte Straße) vom Hauptgebiet entfernt, das in etwa 30 Minuten zu erreichen ist.
Verpflegung: In der Nähe gibt es nur begrenzte Möglichkeiten zum Essen. Decken Sie sich mit Snacks ein oder bestellen Sie vor 22 Uhr den Zimmerservice.
Sicht: Nachts kann Nebel aufziehen, planen Sie also, vor Einbruch der Dunkelheit anzukommen.
Alles in allem ist dieses Hotel perfekt für alle, die ein einzigartiges Erlebnis mit einer unglaublichen Aussicht suchen. Seien Sie einfach auf den „rustikalen“ Charme und die etwas eingeschränkten Annehmlichkeiten gefasst.
