After reading so many positive reviews, we were quite disappointed with our stay. Now reading these reviews again, we noticed that most were written before the pandemic. Perhaps the hotel is trying to rebuild its business after being affected in the past 2 years. If that's the case we wish it the best. We stayed here for two nights and the location was wonderful. It's across the street from Museo Amparro. It's a very short walk to the Zocalo as well. The building has character and we loved the high ceilings. While we were there the hotel looked mostly empty. The exercise room was closed. The wifi didn't work half of the time and we tried to communicate that but a staff member just hung up on us on the phone. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful otherwise. However, only one staff member spoke some English. (We never saw him again after check-in.) We understand that this is Mexico and we should be expected to speak Spanish. I only mentioned this because the listing included English. In our experience, 95% of our communication was in Spanish. We had one breakfast there and it was the worst breakfast during our entire trip. It looked like they weren't "open" yet. The tables and chairs were not set up for us. We didn't see any other guests at the hotel until the morning of our departure. Perhaps it was bad timing but our experience definitely did not match most of these reviews.
