Meine Frau und ich haben 3 Nächte in diesem alten Kloster in Ortigia, dem alten Teil von Siracusa verbracht. Wir wurden ein Zimmer im dritten Stock mit einem kleinen Balkon über das Ionische Meer und, im Norden, Etna in der Entfernung hinter der Stadt (ca. 50 Meilen entfernt) vergeben. Ich glaube, dieses Zimmer hatte die beste Aussicht auf jeden Ort, den wir geblieben haben. David und Cinzia auf dem Frontbüro waren äußerst hilfreich und empfahl während unseres Aufenthalts mehrere gute Restaurants. Dieses Hotel war eine ideale Basis für uns, um Sirakusa Fuß zu erkunden oder einfach aushängen und von unserem Balkon genießen. Wenn Sie ein Zimmer mit Meerblick erreichen können, darf der Sonnenaufgang nicht verpasst werden!

Excellent hotel let down by poor room facilities. Two teabags, two coffee tubes, no milk no water and a cheap kettle that tainted your drink with a plastic smell and taste. Had to contact receptions on both days of our stay to let us have those basic items. Apart from that the room and bed were very comfortable. Now the really good points. On arrival wee had a wonderful welcome from a smiling Simon who assisted us with car parking. In the well stocked bar Giovanni helped to choose the wine. Dinner was very yummy with lots of choices and served with the undivided attention of Daniele, he is a real credit to the Mercure.
