Mandalena Hotel Apartments

When we arrived, there was a very kind man that sleeps in the lonny at night and wakes up and greets people. The room that we stayed in (118) had 3 rooms: the main room, the bedroom and the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and my bed could also change into a sofa. The pool area is a beautiful quiet space to sunbathe, relax and go in the pool. In between the lobby and the pool there is a bar and ice creams/ food available to purchase. In the lobby there is a pool table and some sofas, chairs and teddy machines. The daytime receptionists could speak Greek and quite fluent English. There were two men, and two women. One of the women was called Μαρία/Maria/María and on the penultimate day she told us that StayForLong did not pay her. When checking out she let us wait until we are refunded. One of the men kept saying Γειά σου and Γειά σας, which both mean hello and goodbye. The hotel is not far from Pernera, Protaras strip, Protaras beach, Fig Tree bay and the Profitis Ilias church on the hill. The food there is very good and the cleaners make the beds well and I did not see a single rude member of staff. The only problems would be the lack of plug sockets, paying for AC, not a good cooker (hob). The shower had a mind of its own; sometimes, when you turn it on it turns towards the toilet and soaks the whole room. Not too many negatives. When we left the receptionists were very nice saying Γειά σας. I would recommend this hotel to going to Protaras. Definitely worth coming back Good food, rooms, facilities, staff, bar Ευχαριοτώ Mandalena *****

We stay here everytime we come to Protaras. But this time it was special as we celebrated my birthday. We arrived on the 15th October and the staff had a little surprise for me on my birthday. They got me a card and a bottle of champagne, which I thought was lovely of them. All the staff are fantastic and will do anything for you and go out of their way to make it happen. Maria and the reception team are brilliant and the barman I forgot his name (sorry) but he always made us feel welcome in the restaurant. The food is beautiful and you get a big portion for the price you pay which is also reasonable. If your looking for a quiet hotel away from the hussle and bustle then this is place for you. They also have a hotel cat called lilly who is super friendly and always wants a fuss from the regulars. Thanks again everyone at this hotel for making our stays wonderful.

Another wonderful visit to these lovely apartments. It doesn't go unnoticed that each year improvements are made to ensure upmost guest comfort. New sunbeds, upgraded curtains in apartment etc. The friendliest family and all other staff too ensuring another fantastic holiday for us. Thank you

We managed to get 10 nights at MANDELENA HOTELS APTS from the 8th till 17th September 2024, our usual hotel was full . We normally stay in Oroklini, so a short drive along the coast to Protaras presented us with a basic functional hotel. Air con is charged daily & per unit so had we decided to use both lounge~diner & bedroom it would have been an additional €10 per night ( we decided the bedroom solely was adequate for us, the AC was very good) Our apartment didn't have a microwave or conventional oven but two cooking rings a toaster & fridge. There were only 3 power sockets in the entire apartment which meant a bit of juggling to charge our phones & tablets ..( I should add the local tourist shops are well aware of this & were asking a staggering €20 for a 2 metre extension cable that you can get from Poundland for a fiver!) The television didn't have an accessible HDMI port which was a shame as I’d downloaded some movies I’d planned to watch. Another frustrating element being the WiFi, which we found to be very intermitant & dropping out frequently during our stay. Our balcony was extremely small & no light overhead for reading , we could just about make out the coast in the distance to our right. Breakfast was €6.50 with an additional €1.50 for an orange juice for example, served promptly & well cooked. Facilities.. a nice reception area & restaurant there is a tennis court set behind the pool area. The pool , sadly a siege type mentality with regards to the sunbeds , despite being down stairs for breakfast promptly for nine A:M inevitably all the beds were covered with towels yet no one was swimming or at the restaurant 🙁.. this improved in the second half of our stay so it’s based on the clientele of the time. Previous reviews state this is a friendly family run business, however I found it rather impersonal. Our room was serviced daily, the house keeping staff were efficient & friendly enough . It’s a short twenty minute walk to the local beaches & there is a Lidl a five minute drive up the main road. Just up the road from the hotel is a launderette which is handy as the hotel doesn’t offer a laundry service. We liked to sit outside for an hour before bed & again depending on where your apartment is we found the noise from the traffic from the main road intrusive, especially the open caged dune buggies that are rented out to tourists. ( very noisy) I would advise taking a 3 way plug adapter & couple of tea towels. I wouldn’t be in a rush to stay in the Protaras area again . I

Brilliant and reasonably priced. We have been coming here for 15 years and the staff are more like family to us now. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable. The bar and cafe area is well stocked and service is good from Panikos and his team. Centrally situated for Protaras strip or Pernera.

We loved staying here. Staff were brilliant throughout, and worked so hard to make our stay great. Ideal rooms, very spacious, lovely and clean. Lovely atmosphere and great location. Our flight home was cancelled, Mandelana were able to accommodate us for a further two nights, very helpful indeed . Wouldn't hesitate to return ..... Brilliant !
