Das gute zuerst: das ehemalige Kloster liegt zentral und der Service an der Rezeption war recht freundlich. Wir waren (wegen einem Upgrade vom Reisebüro) in der Präsidentensuite. Wie man sich vorstellen kann, sehr gross. Allerdings braucht man das nicht wenn, wenn man nur eine Nacht da ist. Schreibtisch, Esstisch,… Überall Teppichboden und die Dusche in der Badewanne. Beides nicht unser Fall. Die grosse Terasse Richtung Strasse, kahl und unbenutzbar. In der Nacht hört man den Verkehr der nagen Strasse. Schade, dass man die eigentlich schöne Anlage nicht dekoriert, unterhält und besser pflegt. Frühstück: Buffet mit normaler Auswahl. Heisses Wasser für Tee war allerdings nur lauwarm. Die Tischdecken schmuddelig und nicht einladend. Alles in allem ok, wenn man in dieser Stadt übernachten will/muss.Mehr nicht.

Das einzig gute an diesem Hotel ist die zentrale Lage. Von außen lässt es viel mehr erwarten, aber dann kommt die Ernüchterung. Kein Gepäckträger, unfreundliche Rezeption, abgewohnte Zimmer, altes kleines Bad, Badezimmerfenster im oberen Teil ohne Glas, extrem laut, schlechtes Frühstück. Wir hatten extra um ein ruhiges Zimmer gebeten, Antwort war ein Schulterzucken. An Schlaf war nicht zu denken, da auch noch das Glas in einem Teil des Fensters fehlte und mitten in der Stadt fast die ganze Nacht Verkehrslärm herrscht. Die Zimmer sind abgewohnt, im Bad ist Schimmel, die Türen vermackt usw… . Wo dieses Hotel seine fünf Sterne her hat, ist uns schleierhaft!

Great hotel! After more than a week of staying in some random and small places, it felt like luxury to find a clean hotel with wifi (everywhere!) and hot water in the shower! It was very clean and the customer service was impeccable. I think I was nearly the only tourist there, but everyone attended to me and helped me. I am especially grateful to Nathalie who was working in the kitchen. I walked down and gave her my dinner order, and she went above and beyond to make it special and deliver it to me. She was so kind and sweet...totally made my stay. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stayed in September in this lovely Hotel, that deserves a five star review for the service provided. The building is located a few footsteps away from the beautiful and walkable center of Popayan in a monastery building, giving it a charming and special atmosphere. After leaving, we realized that we unfortunately forgot a shawl at breakfast. Eventually, the hotel managed to pack the shawl and send it with Servientrega per pay on delivery to another hotel in Medellin where we stayed some time later. Thanks again for making this happen. It meant a lot for us. By the way in case you want to visit the hotel, but struggle to find the entrance to the parking lot as we did…, it’s behind the building, accessible via Calle 2 and Carrera 10.

The architecture of this hotel is amazing. It was a monastery and is now a 5* hotel. The rooms are comfortable. However, the hotel lacks an elevator, so all baggage has to be transferred on upper floor by stairs. Breakfast was nice but dinner wasn't good. And the service was extremely slow. The hotel is in the center of Popayan, 5 minutes walk from the central square, so I highly recommend it.

This hotel maybe 3*: no A/C no normal fan or ceiling fan. Rooms second floor have at least a nice balcony. No coffe maker or kettle no complimentary bottle of water. Breakfast - Poor not even enough bread, fruit over ripe. The staff nice as usual in this country.

Absolutely fabulous colonial hotel in this beautiful city. Not only are the rooms great, but the colonial atmosphere is impressive as is also the architecture in this city which boasts the most beautiful Easter ceremony in the country/

The hotel is in a beautiful old monastery with a large cloister around which the rooms are located. The room they gave me had not been made yet when I arrived at 4 pm but anyway I got out sightseeing and it was obviously ready when I came back. The room was large with nice old furniture and a choice of pillows of different softness. Much appreciated! There is a fridge but no complimentary water as you would expect from a hotel of this kind in a country with non drinkable water. No coffee or tea. Bathroom large enough with a good shower. Good Wifi. The restaurant is good ( I had prawn ceviche and pork ribs on mashed avocado) and breakfast is buffet and the best I have had till now in Colombia: three kinds of juice, fresh fruit, ham and cheese, different kinds of bread, two kinds of cereals with milk or yogurt, eggs made on the spot. The location is excellent, in the middle of the city.
