Wie die Überschrift schon sagt: Ich habe die Anlage kennengelernt und kenne das Land und seine Zustande, Gegenden und Leute. Wen Kakerlaken anekeln, dem sei gesagt, dass es die hier gibt wie in D Ameisen...hat also nichts mit fehlender Hygiene zu tun. Sie können vertikale Wände hochklettern, also bitte: Balkontür zu! Halt auch die Wärme draußen. Allerdings wird in Polis Gift ausgelegt regelmäßig und es gibt echt wenige. Über die Badezimmer ist zu sagen, dass die Menschen die Baumaterialien nutzen, dir es auf der Insel nun einmal gibt und nicht mehr...Keiner will den Urlaub eingeschlossen im Bad verbringen, oder? Und ja, das kalte Wasser kommt im Sommer warm aus der Leitung, da es keine Zisternen auf der Insel gibt, sondern große Wasserbehälter auf dem Dach gelagert werden...Bei der Sonnen- Einstrahlung im Sommer also auch nicht ungewöhnlich, sondern der Normalzustand und überhaupt die einzige Möglichkeit für Zypern. Nun zum Hotel: Eingebettet in einer der schönsten Lagen, nur Minuten vom Naturschutzgebiet Akamas entfernt mit dem saubersten Wasser an den Stränden liegt Polis ”weit ab vom Schuss”. Die Einwohner der Gegend kämpfen seit Jahren für eine Schnellstraße, wird sehen, dass es immer und für alles eine Lösung gibt. Sollte das Hotel nicht völlig ausgebucht sein, werden eben die Zimmer getauscht und man hat nach unten heraus den Garten und rinaber ohne Erfolg. Dafür hat man das laid back Flair des ursprünglichen Zyperns. Das Hotel selbst wurde vom heutigen Opa der Familie gebaut und wird von einem der Söhne geführt. Wer italienische Möbel und die üblichen Wandschränke aus Vollholz mag, ist in den Zimmern gut aufgehoben. Und:Welches Hotel bietet schon noch neue Matratzen mit 30 cm Höhe? Und wer freundlich auf die Zyprioten zugeht, wird sehen, dass es gegen den Verkehrslärm auf der einen Seite den Tausch in eines nach hinten heraus gibt...unverbaut, großer, gepflegter Garten, durch den man durch einen 50 Meter langen Palmenhain zum vor 2 Jahren neu gemachten Pool (gut gechlort, Kacheln alle da, wo sie sein sollen, Kinderpool nebendran) mit 30 Metern Länge und 25 Metern Breite Tiefe von 110 bis 140 cm, Poolbar und neben Sonnenliegen auch einem überdachten Sitzbereich mit Ventilatoren gibt. Alles, aber auch alles wird von der Großfamilie in Eigenarbeit geleistet. Der angrenzende Tennisplatz wird zwar nicht genutzt und der Belag hat bessere Zeiten gesehen, aber das ist schon alles, was es zu monieren gibt und es ist ein weiterer Lärmschutz.. wie auch der große Parkplatz am Haus. Es gibt einen kleinen, aber schnellen Fahrstuhl, der ebenso top gewartet wird. Jedes der Zimmer hat seinen Balkon. Nach einer Zeit, in der mehr als schwierig war, Personal zu bekommen, sind die guten Geister wieder tätig. Ja, jedes Zimmer hat Teppich, welcher in Zypern eigentlich nicht einmal verkauft wird. Aber abgenutzt ist der nicht. Klimaanlage ist gegen Gebühr, ja. Der Grund sind die erschreckend hohen Stromkosten, die die geringen Übernachtungskosten nicht ansatzwe

Never normally post about bad experiences because sometimes it’s unavoidable but this was just terrible, we booked a 2 night stay at the start of the year to extend our holiday, we even popped in to say hello and check our booking and request a quiet room as we would be leaving early on day 2 and wouldn’t actually be sleeping there that night, on arrival we were asked if we had booked on line which we had via love holidays, we asked again about a quiet room and was dismissed with a shrug and told that they are very busy so only room available is the one allocated, we took keys and went down the corridor to the room and I can only guess this was a room used for people to shower in on late check out or for staff to sleep in, dead hornet on the floor, dead flys in the bath and to cap it all the toilet had a floater in it. We had booked and paid extra for a sea view room and this room is indeed on the side the sea is but you can’t see it because of all the other guests laying round the pool so no privacy whatsoever. I went back to reception to check again that this was not a mistake and once again got the shrug and dismissed, he really couldn’t care less and I believe he is the owner! I imagine other rooms for people staying longer than a few days are better standard or the hotel would have shut years ago but my suggestion is avoid at all costs if you are just staying a few days. We handed the keys back and walked out as there was no way we were staying in such a grotty room.
