GGastnutzerThis really is a 10/10 place. My husband and my favourite place we’ve stayed, this trip to Thailand. We’ve already decided we want to come back, with friends, next time.
We wanted a place to cut our drive to Bangkok and had no idea Sarat Thani and the surrounding area had so much to offer.
Mr. Pongsak, the owner, could not be more lovely. He is so thoughtful and invested in making sure everyone who stays has the best experience and shares his knowledge of the area and all the things there are to do and see.
We drove a rented car, and found it sooooo peaceful and relaxing to be there. And so close to get to town, markets and lots of yummy foods.
We cannot wait to share this gem with friends and try the other cabins. The pond with all its fish is a gorgeous water feature too.
They opened in 2025 and are building a third cabin. They are modern and still so charming and relaxing.
Cannot wait til we can return on our next trip.
My only concern is that it is such a great spot and is going to be so popular, we will need to book well in advance next time!

GGastnutzerEin fantastisches Hotel. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, mit allen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet und das Frühstück war köstlich. Das Personal war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gibt zwei wunderbare Pools – einer umgeben von tropischer Vegetation, der andere inmitten von Reisfeldern.

GGastnutzerFür das Geld, das wir bezahlt haben wir das, was wir haben. Es ist ein altes Hotel, aber es war sauber. Leider bieten sie nur eine kleine Seife, Toilettenpapier und Handtücher, keine Shampoo, Klimaanlage oder Dusche Gel. Das Schlimmste war, dass das Fanzimmer kein heißes Wasser hatte, das uns überraschend war, und oben hatten wir keine richtige Handtuch, um uns zu bedecken, sondern ein Handtuch, das nicht so groß war, so dass wir uns in der Nacht mit dem Kalt kämpfen. Auch kann man alles hören, da das Zimmer eine große Öffnung zum Haupthall hatte, bedeckt mit etwas wie einem Schrauben, so dass man sehen kann, wie man werfen und offensichtlich hören, wer durchgeht. Die Toilette hatte die gleiche Frage, die Wände sind nicht bis zur Decke gebaut, so dass Sie alles hören können, was dort passiert ist ...

LlaosnewhorizonA Fading Gem with a Fantastic Breakfast
The Wang Tai Hotel feels like a grand dame from a bygone era. Walking into the lobby, you can see it was once a truly luxurious place, and that sense of scale and history is still there. However, it's clear the hotel is in need of a bit of a makeover. While everything is clean, the decor and some furnishings feel a little tired and dated.
That minor point aside, our stay was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to assist us.
The breakfast, however, was a wonderful and unexpected highlight! Instead of a standard buffet, it's ordered a la carte from a menu. Don't let that worry you the range is huge, covering both Thai and Western options. Everything we ordered was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. It felt more like a restaurant experience than a hotel breakfast.
The large swimming pool is a major plus – perfect for a refreshing dip and lounging in the sun. The location is also very good, making it a convenient base for exploring Surat Thani.
In summary, if you can look past the slightly worn edges, The Wang Tai Hotel offers incredible value, spearheaded by a stellar breakfast, great pool, and excellent service. A little refurbishment would easily make this a 5-star experience again.

CCGbooDie Unterkunft war für die Teilnehmer der Beamtenprüfung an der Suratthani Rajabhat Universität günstig gelegen. Das Zimmer war ruhig und sauber, und der Service des Personals war gut.

GGastnutzerA very reasonably priced hotel with clean and comfy room and small balcony. The location is just over the bridge the other side from the main town but it is quite peaceful and very easy to access the night markets. I would recommend renting a moped or even a bicycle would be fine. If you visit, walk down to the waterfront near the crossroads bar and you might see a big monitor lizard in the tree. Also I recommend a little trip to Koh Lamphu which is a little island you can go around on foot or bicycle. Next to the entrance there is a little food market which opens at night. A perfect way to experience a bit of local Thai life.
