Das Zimmer überraschte mich, als mir der Manager Wind, der jüngere Bruder des Besitzers Mr. Sunny, die Tür öffnete. Mit einem erfrischenden thailändischen Duft, der sich von innen ausbreitete, faszinierte mich das Zimmer, dessen ursprüngliche zwei Einzelbetten auf meinen anmaßenden Wunsch hin zu einem großen Bett für einen Alleinreisenden zusammengefügt worden waren. Es gab eine schöne Terrasse, auf der ich nach einem heißen Tag am Strand in der sengenden Sonne meine Füße hochlegen konnte. Wind empfahl mir auch, in ein Restaurant und eine Bar zu gehen, die er für ein Muss hielt. Er besorgte mir einen Roller, für den ich am letzten Tag nur die Hälfte des überfälligen Preises bezahlen musste, weil ich die Zeit vergessen hatte und es nicht vom entferntesten Strand der Insel, Bamboo Beach, schaffte. Sein Assistent Shu war schüchtern und nett. Eines Tages kaufte ich versehentlich zwei Eier, die leicht gekocht, wenn nicht sogar roh waren. Sie hat mir ohne einen zweiten Gedanken dabei geholfen, meine Frühstücksproteinquelle zu schonen. Die Besitzerin, Frau Ning, besorgte mir Pizza und Brot, die sie und ihr Mann anscheinend in der Bistroküche nebenan geübt hatten. Ich würde beim nächsten Mal auf jeden Fall ein Zimmer mit Frühstück buchen, wenn sie planen, nach dem Covid-Ausbruch wieder zu öffnen. Kurz gesagt, im Hotel fühlt man sich, genau wie der Name schon sagt, wirklich wie zu Hause. Der Besitzer und das Personal, einschließlich der Katze Member, waren schrecklich gute und großzügige Menschen. Ich werde sie schrecklich vermissen. Natürlich werde ich in Zukunft nach Koh Lanta zurückkehren, und natürlich wird Lanta at Home meine einzige Wahl sein. PS. Bis bald, Wind. Schön mit dir zu reden. Du bist eine lustige Seele. We absolutely loved our stay at Blue Gecko! Any mentions for improvements below are simply suggestions and is highly recommend anyone to stay here It's in a great location, nearby to high quality local restaurants, a large shop with food, drink, toiletries but still tucked away in its own little world. There are several communal seating areas with communal board games (Azul, cards) and books to use during your stay. The bed was big and comfortable, there was lots of space with two seating areas with tables, one inside our room and one outside. We were only provided with a sheet to sleep, rather than a quilt/duvet which was fine for us but some people might not like that. A choice would have been nice I love the ”eco” feel - toiletries provided are great quality and environmentally friendly, instead of daily plastic single use bottles for water, a glass bottle with a water dispenser at reception is provided. Breakfast is generously portioned and freshly cooked. Some more options for vegans would be nice (my partner just had toast and jam everyday) such as tofu scramble, peanut butter or non-dairy yoghurt. The coffee served at breakfast is delicious, unlike most hotels you can pick from cappuccino, latte etc that's made fresh with a proper coffee machine. That was a really nice touch that we enjoyed. The bathroom was nicely decorated and was modern. My only suggestions for improvements would be there are a lot of lights which made it hard to sleep without an eye mask (the sockets emit lights and we couldn't turn the Aircon display off), and the bathroom has a window with no blind/curtain so the bathroom door needed to be closed. Also there are small gaps around the front door meaning we often had small visitors to our room (geckos, millipedes etc). But overall this didn't affect our stay and are very easy fixes. Also a dimmer switch on the very bright bedside lamp would be nice.

Das Haus ist sauber, die Betten sind komfortabel, der Boss ist sehr vorsichtig, sorgfältig, die Empfehlung ist sehr gut. Die Einrichtungen müssen verbessert werden, es gibt keinen Wärmewasserschrank für den Windsor, das muss geliefert werden, es fühlt sich so seltsam an, dass es noch keinen Wärmewasserschrank für den Kopf gibt? Warum musst du Probleme haben? Im Gold 1000 ist auch seltsam. Es gibt sechs Hotels, die nur Gold nehmen. Vielleicht ist es die Herbstbeziehung, Trip.com reserviert ein Zimmer, 8 Mao-Präsidenten sind sehr teuer, nicht mit den Einrichtungen passen, fühlen sich 4, 5 OK.

There are many good things about this hotel: - located close to the Saladan Pier where the boats dock, and just next door to the night market that offers food and shopping - welcoming and helpful staff (the hotel has no elevator, but the receptionist offered himself to carry my bag to the second floor - free use of washing machine on the rooftop, all you need is buy a detergent in the supermarket nearby (5 baht) - small kitchen if you would wish to prepare some food of your own - vivid lobby brightened up by graffiti, with free water and a small library - rooftop terrace with a hammock, with sadly not spectacular view (the roof of the market is quite unappealing - some graffiti artist should cover that too ;)) What could be improved? - big bed is actually two twin beds connected together. Also, they are wrapped in that plastic which you can feel under the sheets :( - I felt the cleanliness of the room could be on a higher level, especially floors and bathroom - no handsoap in the bathroom (I used the shower gel, but even that one was fixed for the wall, so it doesnt get stolen, I guess?) - just two big towels per room (no small towels, or a floor towel) - even when at maximum, water temperature never gets hot or truly warm - the hotel looks a bit run down, and could use some facelifting. There are holes in the floor of the common area, the bathroom seems unfinished, with exposed walls and some ventilation openings plugged with - plastic bags? - i think key deposit of 500 baht is such an unneeded nuisance in these modern times - cant they just charge you if you lose it?

Had a lovely stay here. The owner and his wife made our trip to Koh Lanta so much better than it would have been without them, great tips and advices for what to do on the island. Laundry service, bike rental, tuk tuk to the pier, everything was great. Thank you and good luck!

In the middle stretch of the island, if you prefer a quieter spot. Accessible if you are able to ride motorbike to explore other parts, otherwise tuktuk could be expensive to go around @300bht/couple or so. However, a 5-7mins walk out to a short street of food, massage, mini mart & bakery, good for our short stay. Nice clean, comfortable & spacious villa of various type. We stayed nearest to the frontal row towards road/concierge, a walk-up pool & forest facing. There are other larger villas nearer beachfront restaurant/another pool or facing the beach. Beachfront is very short stretch, private & rocky beach. Nice & relaxing view within the hotel area but not to be explored out from the beach. Low season during our stay was not overcrowded but when all the guests stayed in, may face a shortage of deck chairs; we brought our towel to lay by the beach instead.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand. Riesige Poollandschaft.. Grosse Zimmer . Gutes Bett und gute Matraze. Das Personal ist nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Was uns nicht so gefallen hat ist, das wir zwar eine Badewanne im Zimmer hatten, aber nur lauwarmes Wasser. Beim 5 Sternehotel kann man das erwarten. Auch hat das Hotel beim Essen und Getränken 17% Service Gebühr und Steuern erhoben. Deshalb sind wir in das Restaurant daneben direkt am Strand geganen ( Noble House Restaurant) Super essen keine zusätzlichen Gebühren. Mir ist eine Kaffeetasse kaputtgegangen, die ich nachträglich bezahlen musste(80 Baht). Wie haben schon ausgecheckt und haben alle Rechnungen bezahlt, da wurden wir auf halben Weg angehalten und mussten noch mal zur Rezeption wie Kinder, um 3€ für eine Tasse zu zahlen. Das ist kein guter letzter Eindruck. Ist zwar meckern auf hohem Niveau, aber das Hotel hat 5 Sterne, deshalb auch die Kritik.

Das Zimmer ist sehr komfortabel, das Bett ist gut, die Bettwäsche ist sauber, die Klimaanlage ist neu. Die Handtücher sind alt, aber sauber. Das Hotelgelände ist wunderschön, alles ist so grün und schön. Nachts singen Frösche. Ein sehr ruhiger Ort, wenn Sie gut schlafen möchten. Ich war in der Nebensaison hier, daher waren einige Dinge verlassen, die Sonnenliegen sind in schlechtem Zustand, die Dusche in der Nähe des Pools funktionierte nicht richtig. Das Personal ist nett. Mein Licht im Zimmer funktionierte nicht, das Personal hat das Problem an diesem Tag gelöst. Das Frühstück ist gut, Sie haben die Wahl. Der Strand von Long Dao ist sehr flach und daher meiner Meinung nach ein guter Ort für Familien mit Kindern. Gut, dass Sie an der Rezeption Tickets für die Fähre bestellen können, aber Sie müssen den Preis überprüfen (manchmal ist es besser, sie am Pier zu kaufen, der nur 1,5 km von diesem Ort entfernt ist).

Das Zimmer bietet Blick auf den Pool im zweiten Stock, und schon vom Eingang aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf den Wasserpark und die atemberaubende Landschaft! Das Zimmer ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet. Die Nachtbeleuchtung ist nicht grell, anders als in den Zimmern gegenüber. Einziger Kritikpunkt: der Zigarettengeruch im Badezimmer. Vorschlag: Neue Handtücher.
