Great location, easy access to major attractions in Oxford. Love the literary theme of its interior and rooms. Service and concierge staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Our graduate twin room was surprisingly spacious and very pretty. Breakfast selections were plentiful and of good standard. Highly recommended if ever in Oxford.

We were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked.  It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend..  Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk.  Buses went to the city centre and railway station.  The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff.  Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area.  Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.

Really pleasant stay! Would've loved to stay more than one night if they weren't fully booked out. Easy 15 minutes walk to the centre (or plenty of buses) with the bus stop right outside. Room was clean and comfortable. Was probably lucky to have quiet neighbours but I imagine if you had noisy neighbours in the rooms next door, you'd probably be able to hear them. I could hear some chatter from the next door at night but it wasn't for long. Was able to store my luggage after checking out for a couple of hours.

Das Talkhouse war eine wirklich heimliche Unterkunft direkt außerhalb von Oxford. Das Zimmer war genau wie die Bilder. Das Personal war unglaublich hilfreich und ich muss sagen, die Dusche ist wahrscheinlich einer der besten, die ich im Vereinigten Königreich hatte. (Eigentlicher Wasserdruck, Temperatur und Drainage, so dass ich nicht in meinem eigenen Schwimmen schwebe). Auch ein Getränk oder ein Abendessen im pub, es scheint auch ein beliebter Favorit unter den Kommunen zu sein. Eines zu beachten für leichte Schlafanzüge, die Zimmer sind Seite an Seite, so dass Sie Ihre Nachbarn hören können und es ist direkt am Straßenweg, so dass Sie Fahrzeuge zu geschäftlichen Zeiten hören können.

Excellent location and services, and the room was very clean. However, there’s an ongoing construction nearby and will be there until mid 2026. Beds were really comfortable, but the water pressure was a bit low. Breakfast was great.

It’s not really a hotel, but more like a B&B with some hotel like features. Moving up the luggage to the room on the top floor was rather inconvenient although the receptionist,Alex, was very helpful. Breakfast was ok, but since there isn’t a restaurant in the accommodation, you’ll have to drive out to find food beyond breakfast. Besides the receptionist Alex, I didn’t quite get a warm feeling when we encountered the hosts, which is unusual given our experience in other cities in the UK so far. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Sehr sauber und komfortabel, nicht weit vom Bahnhof entfernt, aber dennoch weit vom Stadtzentrum entfernt, und es gibt keine Supermärkte und Läden in der Nähe. Beste Gastfamilie für diese Reise.

Mit dem Bus gelangen Sie in 25 Minuten ins Zentrum von Oxford. Es liegt am Rande eines gewöhnlichen Wohngebiets am Stadtrand von Oxford. Es gibt eine U-Bahn auf der anderen Straßenseite und im Umkreis von 200 Metern . Das Hotel ist sehr alt und ein kleines Stück der Wand im Badezimmer des Zimmers, in dem ich übernachtet habe, ist abgefallen. Allerdings wurde auf die Hygiene geachtet, es wurden keine Ungeziefer oder offensichtlich unsaubere Stellen gefunden und auch die Badewanne und die Dusche funktionierten normal. Es eignet sich sehr gut für eine oder zwei Personen zum Reisen. Während der touristischen Hochsaison ist ein Hotel mit einem Preis von 900 Yuan eine der wenigen erschwinglichen Möglichkeiten, in Oxford zu übernachten.

This hotel was clean, the room was spacious with a good bathroom, staff member on check in was polite, and there was tea and coffee available. The walls are thin so you hear people coming up the stairs and going in and out of rooms so would recommend taking ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Only improvement I feel they could make is the check out process. You leave the key in the room but then what if someone else goes in and takes things/ trashes the room, you'd have no proof it wasn't you. Would have preferred to give the key to a member of staff, maybe the person handling breakfast? Just a thought.

Überlegene Lage. Das Hotel verfügt über gute Einrichtungen. Vor dem Tor ist der Fluss. Es ist auch sicher. Ich laufe morgens viel. Daneben befindet sich ein neues Einkaufszentrum. Später stellte ich fest, dass es viele Nudeln zu essen gibt. Sie können die Landschaft auch draußen sehen. Sehr gut.
