Hotels in Cambridge mit Parkplatz

This accommodation was excellent. for us.It was situated in a tiny village with only one local pub, which was ideal for us. Cambridge is only 10miles away. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The Lodge was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. A nice touch was a plate of fairy cakes and a jar of cookies to welcome you. There was also a jug of milk in the fridge. The bed was sublime. Extremely soft and comfortable. I normally only manage 3-4 hours sleep daily, but on our two night stay i slept right through both nights. Breakfast was a full English delivered to our door, and it was delicious. I can't recommend this place and it's host highly enough. If I'm visiting the area again Thorn House will definitely be my first choice.

A very nice place to park yourself when visiting Cambridge due to its great location (next to St John’s & River Cam) and good shopping and dining options all within 5-10 mins walk. Rooms are decent size with well stocked kitchen. Best of all they have a gym, washing & drying facilities and a lively and lovely dining area with a super bar.  Very friendly staff and a  shout out to Suhas at reception who looked after us during our stay. It’s also a location where many Uni students frequent to revise and chill, right next to the Cambridge Students’ Union building

Ich war sehr überrascht, dass der Air Con nicht in meinen 2 Zimmern arbeitete. Sie sagten uns alle Air Con in den Hotelzimmern sind unten. Sie haben uns mit einem Rabatt auf den Aufenthalt kompensiert und uns Fans schicken, aber es ist wirklich nicht ein angenehmes Aufenthalt wegen der Fülle im Zimmer.

Ein toller Aufenthalt für einen Familienbesuch über Weihnachten. Gemütlich, komfortabel und freundlich. Mehr kann man sich nicht wünschen.

We had a lovely room. Excellent location to travel to Duxford air museum, or for train into Cambridge. We were driving, so paid £10 for overnight parking. Thought this was ok, as if we'd not had car then we'd have had benefit of not incurring that charge. The breakfast was ok. The service at breakfast though was really poor, not I think down to the staff who were on, but the lack of staff, thus a management issue perhaps. When we went into breakfast there wasn't a single clean available table. We had to move used things from one, cleaned table myself. We were in there about 20 minutes, and I saw the items that had been left on other tables stayed there, and those I'd moved stayed too. There wasn't enough cutlery out - I asked for more, and heard others doing the same later. It felt chaotic. Just not staffed well enough - the receptionist was helping out too with breakfast. Though the room was good in terms of its facilities, size, cleanliness, the shower had a big problem. It was a wet room, which was fine, but weirdly the floor seemed to slant the wrong way (I later realised) as the water from the shower spread across the entire bathroom, soaked my clothes that I'd left at the furthest point away (nowhere to put them than on the floor), and almost went under the door into the room itself. I just realised what was happening in time. There wasn't one of those floor wipers you often get in a wet room to wipe the floor, so though it did slowly go down the plug hole, the whole bathroom floor was left very wet, and I had to use towels to dry it a bit. I mentioned it to the receptionist as a complaint; she just said she would pass it on. A nice hotel in a good location, the issues I mention hopefully will get sorted. I would stay again, but now forewarned.

Die Lage ist gut, zu Cambridge zu Fuß in 20 Minuten, das Frühstück ist überraschend, der Bestellservice, Milch, Kaffee sind gut zu trinken, Fruchtsäfte, Parken ist bequem. Das Gepäck ist etwas unkomfortabel, oben und unten,

Das Hotel befindet sich nicht im Stadtzentrum. Man benötigt zu Fuß oder mit dem Bus über 30 Minuten, um ins Zentrum oder zum Universitätsviertel zu gelangen. Dafür ist es hier sehr ruhig. Verlässt man das Hotel (ohne Auto), führt der Weg immer an einem großen Privatgarten vorbei, dessen direkter Durchgang mit einem Drahtzaun versperrt ist. Allein das Umrunden dieses Gartens nimmt 7-8 Minuten in Anspruch. Dafür sind die Preise hier deutlich niedriger als in Hotels im Zentrum. Wenn der Preis keine Rolle spielt, könnte man natürlich ein eleganteres Hotel im Universitätsviertel wählen, was ein besseres Erlebnis wäre. Abgesehen von der Universität ist das Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge ebenfalls einen Besuch wert.

Wir wurden von einer sehr netten Mitarbeiterin empfangen, ich glaube, sie hieß Hilda. Das Zimmer war ordentlich sauber und alles war vorhanden. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Es gab keine Schalldämmung. Neben dem Bett befand sich eine verschlossene Tür, die wir zunächst für einen Putzmittelraum hielten. Tatsächlich führte sie aber ins Nebenzimmer! Ein anderes Paar schaute spät abends nach dem Zimmer und versuchte, die Tür zu öffnen, um nachzusehen. Wir schliefen und erschraken furchtbar, weil wir dachten, jemand wolle in unser Zimmer. Insgesamt war es ein guter Aufenthalt, aber diese Tür zum Nebenzimmer sollte nicht da sein, oder es sollte zumindest ein Hinweis angebracht sein, dass man sie nicht öffnen soll!

While the hotel itself and rooms are fine. You have to pay extra for parking which is clearly just for capitalist gains as it’s on property. They advertise a pool (one of the main reasons we picked the hotel), which we were told on arrival has been closed for years, yet no thought to advertise this online was thought of? No instead they keep a picture of said swimming pool online when it would be a simple manner of taking one picture down to stop disappointment. They keep it up to attract visitors unfortunately. The water in the room for shower and bath simply did not go hot, but rather a low lukewarm. Breakfast also cost £15 which we opted not to do due to competition prices being so much lower for the same thing. Ultimately, it was a disappointing stay mainly due to their misinformation than the room itself.

Es ist eine offenbar private Gartenhäuser, das ganze Haus ist schön und hat uns einen Genuss eines britischen Hauses gefühlt. Wir haben viele schöne Fotos gemacht!
