Homestay was very clean and well maintained with friendly staff. For those craving coffee, they have a coffee machine at the reception that's rarely used. There's a snack box is the room and the snacks are so nice I finished 4 of them...
For those who grew up on Chinese novels, you'll be disappointed. Most novels describe how the Mongols attached XiangYang on horseback. But if you see view from the city walls, you'll realise it's protected from all sides, especially the north, by the 800m wide Han river. No way that the Mongol horses could have swam 800m while under fire from the arrows on XiangYang.

Handgeschüttelt Kaffee: Duftig trinken, Zucker und Milch können gefordert werden
Anlagen: Wasserdruck ist sehr hoch, Wassertemperatur ist auch gut
Dienst: Die Rezeption ist sehr enthusiastisch, obwohl es sehr beschäftigt war, aber die Einstellung war immer sehr gut!
Der Sicherheitsminister hat auch immer wieder gesprochen, dass er das neue Jahr gut sagt und ihm den Parkplatz geholfen hat.
Glückwunsch und Lob, die Eltern sind sehr glücklich!

I spent two nights at Quanji Hotel in Xiangyang, and I left with a mix of impressions some solid wins, one or two quirks, and a sense that this place knows what travelers like me actually want after a long day of sightseeing or meetings.
First impressions
- Exterior and lobby: Modern, clean, and uncluttered. The lobby feels calm, not trying too hard to impress you, which is nice after a long train ride. The check-in process was smooth, with staff who spoke enough English to help, but not so much that you felt talked down to.
- Location: Pretty convenient depending on what you’re here for. It isn’t in the center of Xiangyang’s busiest streets, but you’re within a comfortable walk or short ride to key spots, plus there are eateries nearby that aren’t overhyped tourist traps.
Room and comfort
- The room itself was a solid 4-star vibe: tidy, well-lit, and surprisingly quiet for a hotel in what feels like a busy area. The bed was comfortable—firm enough to support a good night’s sleep but soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re lying on a board.
- Amenities: Decent desk space if you’re traveling for work, reliable Wi-Fi, and a reasonable layout. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure and a practical layout. A few small things felt a touch “budget-first” like standard toiletries and a shower curtain rather than a glass enclosure—but nothing deal-breaking.
- Cleanliness: Overall good. Housekeeping did a thorough job during my stay, and I didn’t notice any telltale corners being overlooked. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable dropping your gear and not worrying about dirt or mess.
Service
- Front desk and staff: Friendly and helpful. They stood by for recommendations on dining and local spots without turning the conversation into a sales pitch. When I asked for directions or a printout of an itinerary, they were efficient and patient.
- Housekeeping: Prompt and discreet. No intrusions at odd hours, which I appreciated.

Sie können wirklich fühlen, dass sie lieben, was sie ihre Wärme, Professionalität und echte Pflege machen, machte mich so willkommen und komfortabel während meines Aufenthalts. Jede Interaktion war mit Freundlichkeit und Respekt gefüllt, und das machte den ganzen Unterschied.

SSquare FishWe had a load of laundry to do but time was short for us. One of the hotel crew FangFang, willingly helped us washed and dry our laundry and put it back in our room, dropping us a handwritten note. It was a very nice gesture from her and she didn't want anything in return. We felt touched by her actions and just wanted to give a shout out to her good service.
Hotel is excellent in terms of cleaniless and location. Room space is big too.
